At ISA Liwan, outdoor inquiry teaching is an important part of the inquiry process. IB inquiry-based teaching encourages and guides students to explore the world. Through contact with real life situations, students expand their horizons, but also improve their scientific ability.

在爱莎荔湾，户外探究教学一直是探究课程中重要的一环。在IB探究式教学中，爱莎鼓励并引导学生走出课堂，作为课堂教学的延伸以及课本知识的应用和迁移。学生通过与外界的接触与交流，将拓展视野，提高科学探究能力。

G1-G5 students took a Science field trip to explore the Guangdong Science Centre on Tuesday 28th March. At the Science Centre, students learned about the mysteries of the human body, observed the splendor of the water world, explored the vast universe, and experienced the savannah of Africa. The various experiences in the museum are closely related to what the students have learned in class, and such a realistic environment will play an irreplaceable role in establishing their academic knowledge.

2023年3月28日，爱莎荔湾一至五年级的学生在老师的带领下前往广东科学中心展开实地研学活动。在科学中心里，同学们了解到人体的奥秘、见识了水世界的精彩、探索了广袤无垠的宇宙、体验了非洲的大草原……馆内经历的种种，与同学们在课堂上学到的知识息息相关，这样真实的环境，对同学们建立基本的学术知识体系将起到无可替代的作用。

During the sailing course, students listened attentively to the information and learned about why sailing boats are called "sail" boats, to learn almost the principle of sailing in the sea and rivers, and the trajectory of boats. After the detailed explanation by the staff, the students started to make their own sailboats, and the classroom was quiet and peaceful as everyone was absorbed in their designs and creations.

帆船课程上，同学们认真听讲，了解到为何帆船称之为“帆“船，其能航于江海的原理是什么，帆船的运动轨迹是怎么样的等种种知识。经过工作人员的详细讲解，同学们纷纷开始动手制作属于自己的小帆船，一时间手作课室一片寂静祥和，大家都全神贯注地沉浸在他们的创作当中。

After a short time, an exquisite boat was presented on the students' table. Under the facilitation of the teacher, the boats made by the sailors passed the challenge of simulated sailing.

不过莞尔，一艘艘精致的小船便呈现在同学们的桌子上。在老师的引导下，“水手们”精心制作的小船也是通过了模拟航海的挑战。

“As one of our UOIs was about the Earth, we were able to explore this further.”

“我们UOI有个单元就是关于地球的，我们来到这里就可以探索一下地球了！”

"I think one of the most interesting one is, we learned about the human body, putting together that body parts."

“我觉得今天最有趣的是，我们在关于人体奥妙的展馆里了解到了人体的构造，还可以自己动手将人体各个部位拼接在一起！”

“We are here today to learn about energy. We talked about friction and Science and we had a great time learning all about our UOI.”

“我们今天来到这里了解了能源的相关知识，也学习了摩擦力和其他科学的知识，很开心能­有机会进一步学习我们探索单元的内容。”

The main theme of this year’s STEAM fair are How the world works for primary students. Through technology experiences, research, and inquiry exhibitions which allows students to establish a real and meaningful connection with the world around them.

爱莎荔湾首届科技节，小学部围绕超学科主题”世界如何运作”，通过科技体验、研学、探究展等方式，让学生与身边的世界建立真实的、有意义的连接，建立起他们自己对周围世界的认知和理解。
