There is a long-standing culture in languages. Khaled Hosseini, author of The Kite Runner, once said that if culture is a house, language is the key that opens the door. International talents need to learn how to use the language correctly and also to understand the culture behind the language.

广州市斐特思学校希望学子们在语言学习上，既能做到听、说、读、写、译全面发展，也能做到演（表演形式）、辩（辩论形式）、融（跨学科融合学习），对语言深度掌握、运用。

FCG hopes that the students will not only achieve comprehensive development in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation but also perform (performance form), debate (debate form), and integrate (interdisciplinary integration learning) to master and apply the language in depth.

为了给孩子们提供优质的双语环境，创设多元的文化氛围。广州斐特思将于10月27日举行首届语言文化节。同学们将以演讲、摄影展、图书共读等形式，演绎他们对语言的掌握，和对不同文化的理解。

FCG will hold a Language and Culture Festival on October 27th to create a bilingual cultural environment for children to communicate and share. Students will demonstrate their mastery of languages and understanding of different cultures through speeches, photo exhibitions and book reading.

语言文化节当天，《牛津妈妈面对面》的作者赵妙方女士将会莅临广州斐特思，与家长们分享陪伴孩子读书、学习语言、考取牛津的故事。家长们可以与赵女士面对面交流育儿心得。

On the day of the Language and Culture Festival, Ms. Miaofang Zhao, the author of Oxford Mums Face-to-Face, will come to FCG to share with parents the story of accompanying their children to study, learn languages and be accepted into Oxford. Parents can share their parenting experiences with Ms. Miaofang Zhao face-to-face.

中学部的同学们准备了精彩的个人演讲，他们把对世界的辩证思考融于演讲中，以中英文语言为载体，向外界发出自己的声音。

The students in the secondary school have prepared wonderful personal speeches. They integrated their critical thinking about the world into their speeches and used Chinese and English as weapons to express their voices to the outside world.

从来都是大人给小朋友们讲故事，那么当幼儿园和小学部的小朋友们给老师和家长们讲故事，又是怎样的可爱光景？

Adults have always told stories to children, so what is the lovely scene when early year and primary school children tell stories to teachers and parents?

一千个人眼中有一千个哈姆雷特。当不同阅历、年龄的人共读一本经典著作，他们的思维碰撞将点燃智慧的火花。在活动当天，志愿者家长和学长学姐们，将会选取经典图书，分别为低年级的同学们读书。大家一起沉浸在书的海洋中，体验不同语言的魅力。

There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand eyes. When people of different experiences and ages read a classic book, their thoughts will collide and ignite the spark of wisdom. On the day of the activity, volunteer parents and seniors will choose classic books to read to the lower grade students respectively. We will immerse ourselves in the ocean of books and experience the charm of different languages.

学校希望孩子们养成阅读的习惯，鼓励大家无论在家里、学校，还是在旅途，都能在闲暇时刻捧起书本阅读。那些孩子们沉浸于书中的瞬间，被老师、家长们记录下来，汇成此次语言文化节的“悦读”摄影展。来宾们可以在现场欣赏这些美好一瞬。

The school wants children to develop the habit of reading at any time and encourages them to pick up a book in their spare time, whether at home, school or on the road. These moments of children immersed in books were recorded by teachers and parents and turned into the "Reading Photography Exhibition" of this Language and Culture Festival. Guests can enjoy these beautiful moments on the spot.

在语言文化节当天，同学们将扮演成书中的人物角色，在现实中体验故事人物的情感，加深对不同文化的理解。

On the day of the Language and Culture Festival, students will play the role of characters in books with their own stories, experience the characters' emotions in reality, and deepen their understanding of different cultures.

阅读，为孩子们打开一扇通往知识海洋的大门。同学们将自己读过的故事，用五彩斑斓的画笔或画纸，按照自己的想法把教室的门装饰成一个个绚丽多彩、图文并茂的书籍封面。来宾们可以在现场观赏他们关于“知识”的艺术作品。

Reading opens the door to a sea of knowledge for children. The students will read their stories with colourful brushes or painting paper according to their ideas to decorate the classroom door with a bright, illustrated book cover. Guests can view their works of art about "knowledge" on site.

未来，国际跨文化交流合作将更为紧密，地球村的影响将愈加明显。在众多语言中，中文和英语将成为同学们通往世界的密匙。学校希望在他们幼时，便将语言的种子播下，这些种子可以在沉浸式的环境中茁壮成长，在他们走向世界的旅途中为他们绽放一朵朵璀璨的花朵。

In the future, international cross-cultural exchanges and cooperation will be closer, and the influence of the global village will be more obvious. Among the many languages, English and Chinese will be students' keys to the world. The school hopes to plant the seeds of languages at an early age so that they can thrive in an immersive environment and blossom on their journey into the world.
