Books are a source of knowledge that can light up a person's mind and change his or her destiny. Donating books can help schools in remote areas to improve the resources in their libraries so that students can better learn and explore knowledge. This is especially important for students who don't have access to the same wealth of learning resources as urban students.
Recently, a touching book donation campaign was launched between ASJ and primary and secondary schools in the township of Qingzhou in Weifang, Shandong Province.
After learning that the school library was going to donate a batch of books to an outside school, 13 ASJ Secondary Student Council members immediately took an active part in all aspects of organising the books. They firmly believe that donating books is a very meaningful gesture to help improve the educational conditions of schools with scarce resources and provide more learning opportunities for students who are in dire need of learning resources. At the same time, through participating in such activities, students can learn about their own social environment, realise that they can contribute to others and experience the joy of helping others.
The school library teacher school screened the donated books in advance to ensure their quality and suitability. Afterwards, the student volunteers carefully made a book list for each box of books, including the title of each book and the total number of books in each box. Despite the need to rush the work, the students always wore smiles and were incredibly enthusiastic and conscientious as they moved the books, recorded, counted and boxed them together. Through the efforts of teachers and students, 1690 books were quickly sorted out.
The books were donated to primary and secondary schools in the most remote townships in Qingzhou, Weifang, Shandong Province, including Miaozi Middle School and Xiyuan Primary School. After talking to the ASJ library, the local teachers said they needed the donated books to help these students read.

After receiving the books, the teachers divided the books into three divs for primary, middle and high schools and donated them to the schools in need. Although it was already cold and snowy in Qingzhou, the local teachers quickly organised student volunteers to work feverishly on sorting, processing and shelving the books, some of which were opened to teachers and students as soon as they were available.

The book donation activity is not only an exchange of books, but also a collision of hearts and transmission of emotions. In this activity, a deep bond of friendship and mutual support was established between ASJ and the teachers and students in Qingzhou, Weifang, Shandong Province. The donation activity provided more opportunities and resources for the students. It also helped the student volunteers to enhance their sense of social responsibility and civic awareness, and allowed the students to feel the significance of public welfare from practice.
