Our Junior Secondary students were thrilled to have the opportunity to visit the Dongguan Museum this week to view the 

'Returns of National Treasures - Special Exhibition of Bronze Animal Heads from Old Summer Palace and Repatriated Cultural Relics from Overseas'.

6月6日下午，东莞ASJ74名初中部学生在学校组织下前往东莞市博物馆，参观“国宝归来——圆明园兽首暨海外回流文物特展”。

The exhibits in this special exhibition included the heads of the Ox, Tiger, Monkey, Pig and Horse of the twelve bronze animal heads from the Haiyantang Zodiac Fountain of Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan), as well as the bronze vessels of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, the Qingzhou Buddha statue of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, and the Tibetan gilded bronze Buddha of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. 86 pieces of national treasures and precious cultural relics were presented on display.

据了解，本次特展展品包括圆明园海晏堂生肖兽首铜像、商周青铜器、南北朝青州佛造像、明清鎏金铜佛像等86件珍贵文物展品。

These Chinese cultural relics are a witness and heritage of the time-honoured, extensive and profound Chinese civilisation. This visit gave the students an opportunity to get closer to history and gain a deeper sense of how history has shaped the times. During the visit, the students took a journey through the vast history of China, learning to appreciate the splendour of the ancient civilisation. Students also gained an insight into the history of modern China.

流散海外的中国文物是中华文明璀璨悠久、博大精深的见证与传承，是中国文化遗产不可分割的组成部分。博物致知，学生们借此机会参观学习，有助于他们走近历史，了解历史，更加深刻得感受历史赋予时代的印迹。学生们在参观过程中既可以在浩瀚的历史长河中遨游，领略璀璨辉煌的中国古代文明，也能深入了解中国近代的屈辱史，保持警醒不断发展自强。

Many students were still enthusiastic after visiting the exhibition: 

"The journey of 'Returns of National Treasures' makes me feel that our country has grown from weak to prosperous," while others expressed their expectations for history classes

"This way of learning history is very interesting because these exhibits are so vivid and I can feel that the knowledge in the history books has come alive, and I hope the school will organise more of these interesting and meaningful activities".

不少同学在参展后在表示十分震撼，“从国宝归来中感受到我们国家从衰弱到强盛”，还有同学表示很开心，“这种学习历史的方式很有趣，因为这些展品生动形象，感觉书本上的知识到了眼前，希望学校多组织此类新奇且有意义的活动”。
