Economics (Frank & Chuman)

经济课,老师将理论知识和有趣的小游戏结合,让同学们在游戏中学习,在学习中提升自己。例如,“豪车拍卖”以浅显生动的方式让我们理解了最经典的经济模型之一——经济需求曲线。通过这些商业行为,我深深地体会到经济学在日常生活中的关联性。

In the economics class, teachers combine theoretical knowledge with fun games, allowing students to learn through games and improve themselves in the learning process. For example, the "Luxury Car Auction" taught us about one of the most classic economic models – the demand curve, in a vivid and straightforward manner. Through these business activities, I deeply felt the relevance of economics in daily life.

在踏入课堂之前,我一直十分疑惑: 心理学为什么属于科学?这个问题,实质上是因为我对这一神秘的学科了解甚少。在这节心理课上,我对心理这一门科学有了更清晰的认识。我了解到心理学实际上也需要经过大量的实验才能得出最终的结果。这是一堂令人受益匪浅的心理课。就像《三体》中写的那样: 弱小和无知不是生存的障碍,傲慢才是。即便没有面临“生存的障碍”我们同样应该放下傲慢之心。抛去成见,我发现许多曾经我不屑一顾的职业也在世界发光发热……

Before entering the classroom, I always wondered: Why is psychology considered a science? The question mainly arose because I knew very little about this mysterious subject. In this psychology class, I got a clearer understanding of the science of psychology. I learned that psychology requires many experiments to derive final results. This lesson was extremely enlightening. As mentioned in The Three-Body Problem: weakness and ignorance are not obstacles to survival, arrogance is. Even if we don't face "obstacles to survival", we should still set aside our arrogance. Without prejudice, I found many professions I once looked down upon also shine in the world...

Computer Science (Neal&Henry)

Henry老师为同学们展示了不同硬件部件的实物,让学生亲自触摸、拆解和组装;Neal老师则指导同学们学习使用基础的Tinkercad电路模拟界面来制作基于以电池为电源的LED电路以实现基本的程序智能控制。同学们在这门课中对计算机硬件有了基本的理解,并锻炼解决代码以及电路问题的能力。

Henry demonstrated the physical components of various hardware to the students, giving them the opportunity to touch, disassemble, and reassemble them; while Neal guided students to use the basic Tinkercad circuit simulation interface to create battery-powered LED circuits for basic program intelligence control. Students have gained a fundamental understanding of computer hardware and have honed their abilities to solve coding and circuit-related issues.

在趣味生物体验课中,同学们观看了动画视频并讨论DNA的功能。通过各种鲜活的例子来帮助同学们更好地理解抽象概念。同学们进一步了解了DNA双螺旋结构的发现历史,并参与了香蕉DNA粗提取的实验活动。实验将培养同学们的动手能力,在实践中完成知识的学习和应用。

In the fun biology experience class, students watched animated videos and discussed the functions of DNA. They used vivid examples to help students understand abstract concepts better. They further learned about the history of the discovery of the DNA double helix structure and participated in an activity extracting crude DNA from bananas. The experiment cultivated students' hands-on skills, completing knowledge learning and application in practice.

化学体验课中,刘老师带领同学们探究了电化学里的电镀原理。同学们通过一个简单的化学小实验,将黄铜钥匙变成紫铜钥匙。实验不仅培养了同学们的动手能力,也训练启发了同学们的化学思维。

In the chemistry session, Teacher Liu guided the students in exploring the principles of electroplating in electrochemistry. Through a straightforward chemical experiment, the students transformed brass keys into copper keys. The experiment not only developed the students' hands-on skills but also stimulated their chemical thinking.


数学(顾老师)

Mathematics (David)

顾老师以讨论自然界雪花的特征为起点,带领同学们动手一步步描绘几何图形-科勒雪花,并探究在构建科勒雪花的过程中,几何图形边长、周长、面积等数值的变化。同学们通过猜想和验证领略到科勒雪花迷人的魅力。

Starting with a discussion on the characteristics of snowflakes in nature, Teacher Gu led students to depict the geometric shape of the Koch snowflake step by step and explored the changes in the length, perimeter, and area of geometric figures during the construction of the Koch snowflake. Through conjecture and verification, students appreciated the fascinating charm of the Koch snowflake.

Physics (Davy)

朱老师在课堂上通过对“运动”这一最常见的现象进行深入的观察和思考,激发学生学习物理的兴趣,鼓励他们去探索现象背后的原因,并了解科学研究的基本方法。同学们将在课堂中知晓数学和物理学的关系,以及如何运用数学去进行物理研究。

Davy deeply observed and thought about the most common phenomenon, "motion", in the classroom, inspiring students' interest in learning physics. He encouraged them to explore the reasons behind phenomena and understand the basic methods of scientific research. Students will learn the relationship between mathematics and physics in class and how to use mathematics for physics research.


科学史(Chris校长)

History of Science (Chris)

同学们围绕“什么是科学”这个问题展开了激烈的讨论。随之,Chris提出更加具体的问题:“有哪些是有关科学的十种产物?”“动能?重力?时间?单位?”接下来的视频揭示了这一点——是基因,人类的起源,以及“Vaccines”疫苗。这些有关人类的本质。这节课让同学感悟了科学的本质,产生了对科学更深的思考。希望在以后的课程中能继续探寻科学的真谛。

Classmates engaged in a spirited discussion centered around the question, "What is science?" Following that, Chris posed a more precise question: "What are ten aspects related to science?" "Kinetic energy? Gravity? Time? Units?" The subsequent video revealed the following — genetics, the origin of humanity, and "Vaccines." These topics pertain to the essence of humanity. This class enabled me to grasp the core of science, prompting me to engage in more profound reflections on the subject. This class enabled classmates to perceive the essence of science and prompted deeper contemplation on the subject. I hope to continue delving into the true nature of science in future courses.
