哈罗学子们在声声蝉鸣中一起度过了暑假生活，而哈罗老师的暑假号列车比孩子们更早到达终点站。

今年开学前，哈罗重庆安排全校教职工进行了开学前的定制培训，培训全程安排学校领航团成员带领新教师进行互动和讲解，确保哈罗教学规范和校园准则得以充分理解和落实。

We spent the summer vacation together in the sound of cicadas, and the teachers' summer vacation train arrived earlier than Harrovians.

Harrow Chongqing arranged customised training for all staff.The training was arranged throughout with SLT members leading new teachers in interaction and explanation to ensure that Harrow's norms and campus guidelines were fully implemented.

校园安全与儿童保护，便是其中的重要一课。

哈罗重庆强调保护儿童安全，每一位教职员工都有责任保护在校学生的身心健康，构筑儿童安全保护的防线。

而关于儿童保护，哈罗重庆的核心是：第一：学生和教职工的福祉比学校中所有其他考虑更为重要。第二：所有儿童，不论其年龄、残疾、性别、种族传统、宗教信仰、性取向或身份如何，均有权获得平等保护，免受各种形式的伤害或虐待。第三：每一个与儿童一起工作的成年人都有责任确保他们的安全。

我们不仅在建筑设计、课程等多方面为孩子们准备了有形的保护，还有心理咨询师进行无形的守护，更设置了4位儿童保护负责人进行监督，以确保哈罗重庆始终把校园安全与儿童保护放在第一位。

School safety and child protection is one of the most important lessons. Harrow Chongqing emphasises the protection of children's safety, and every staff member has the responsibility to protect the physical and mental health of students at school, and to build a line of defense for children's safety and protection. And regarding child protection, the core of Harrow Chongqing is:1. The welfare of pupils and staff takes precedence over all other considerations in the school.2. All children have the right to equal protection from all forms of harm or abuse, regardless of their age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or identity.3. Every adult who works with children has a responsibility to ensure their safety.

We have not only prepared tangible protection for children in various aspects such as building design and curriculum, but also have counselors for intangible guardianship, andhave set up four child protection leaders for supervision to ensure that Harrow Chongqing always puts campus safety and child protection in the first place.

新学年的仪式感当然也不能少！哈罗学子们欢聚一堂，共同迎来了新学期的开学典礼。

从校长致辞到院舍长们的发言，孩子们怀着对新学期的期待和憧憬，在整个过程都充满了激情与活力。当然，在这一天，我们传承哈罗百年的传统，校长会亲自将哈罗帽授予给每一个新入学的哈罗学子，并教会学生行“顶帽礼”。现在就一起来看看大家期待已久的开学典礼吧～

The new school year can certainly not be without its ceremonies! Harrovians gathered together for the opening ceremony of the new semester.

From the Head Master's speech to the speeches of the Housemasters, the students were full of enthusiasm and energy as they looked forward to the new semester. Of course, we carried on the centuries-old tradition of the Head Master presenting the Harrow Hat to each new Harrovian and teaching them to perform the 'Capping'. Let’s take a look.

新学年的开始总是让人激动人心，因为学生们将升入不同的年级，而新生们则带着些许惶恐来到他们的新学校。重庆哈罗礼德学校热烈欢迎大家在 23-24 学年的到来。在过去的几周里，老师和教职员工们做了细致的准备工作，很高兴看到学生们在暑假后重返校园。

The start of the new academic year is always filled with excitement as students move up between Grade levels and new students arrive, with a little trepidation, to their new school. It is a warm Harrow LiDe School welcome to everyone for the 23-24 academic year.  The teachers and staff have made detailed preparations over the past few weeks and are delighted to see the students return to campus after the summer vacation. 

The atmosphere in the school is extremely positive with teams of staff engaged in planning academic programmes, events, House activities and many other opportunities for the students that are all important elements of the holistic education that we offer. With the start of a new academic year then changes are evident and one of those is the staffing body. The school continues to grow each year we have welcomed a number of new staff to our faculty this semester:

Boarding continues to be ever popular, with our largest cohort of boarders to date, and a strong interest in our flexi boarding programme. More details of that and the extended day programme offered by boarding staff for extra English language work will be announced shortly.

学年伊始，整装出发！我想为哈罗学子的行囊中再添上一件物品，便是勇气，还是勇气。关于勇气，哈罗重庆的第一期杂志中，有很多同学老师从不同的角度进行了阐释。

勇气是不惧困难勇往直前，勇气是难以抉择时，对自己的选择负责，勇气是允许自己失败，勇气是敢于承认错误，勇气是在纷扰的世界保持乐观，勇气是敢于追寻自己的梦想......

我惊叹于一个小小的词语，可以有如此多的含义，可以在我们生活的方方面面闪烁光芒。中国思想家老子在其著作《道德经》里提出“慈故能勇”，意思是勇气源于慈爱。柔弱的母亲为了保护孩子可以变得强大，瘦弱的革命战士为了民族的利益可以视死如归，这都是都是源于对生命的慈爱，对正义的慈爱。慈爱让勇气成为大勇，缺乏慈爱的勇往往是持强凌弱。

所以，亲爱的哈罗学子，我希望在你们行囊中放进的是让勇气变成大勇的慈爱。希望你们用慈爱呵护自己的梦想，有勇气即便害怕仍旧迎风而行，希望你们慈爱他人和地球，有勇气保护我们共同的家园。希望新学期中，愿你们有大勇在心，照亮自己，也温暖别人！

At the beginning of the school year, it's time to get geared up!I would like to add one more item to the bag of Harrow students, that is Courage and still Courage.Regarding courage, in the first issue of ‘Harrow Zine’, many students and teachers explained it from different angles.

Courage is going forward against all odds,Courage is taking responsibility for your choices when they are difficult,Courage is allowing oneself to fail,Courage is daring to admit mistakes,Courage is staying optimistic in a troubled world,Courage is the commitment to follow one’s dreams.

I marvel at how one little word can mean so much and can shine in every aspect of our lives. The Chinese thinker Lao Tzu, in his book Tao Te Ching, suggested that, ‘Through Love, one has no fear’, meaning that courage comes from love. A gentle mother can become strong to protect her child. For the sake of the interests of the nation, death can be regarded as if it were home to an emaciated revolutionary soldier. It all stems from a love for life, a love for justice. Love makes courage into valour, and courage without love is often overpowering.

Hence dear Harrovians, what I hope to put in your bags is the love that makes courage into valour. May you nurture your dreams with love and have the courage to walk against the wind, even when you are faced with fear. May you love others and the earth and have the courage to protect our common home. In the new semester, may you have great love in your hearts and be the light of your and others’ life. 

亲爱的朋友们，大家早上好，我是凯勒学生院舍长刘晓童，大家假期过得怎么样?肯定很精彩很充实。我直到周三的凌晨一点才意识到，我们是这个星期五开学，才意识到睡到11点起的生活将不复存在。快乐的时光总是过得很快，自从我来到哈罗，就像有人在我身上安装了加速器一样，不敢相信这已经是第四年了。你们准备好开始了吗?因为作为院舍长，我可以告诉你们，接下来将有很多活动等着大家。有人喜欢游泳吗?艺术?玩乐器?还是拼写?机会就在那等着你，不要羞于尝试和展示自己，重在参与。我说这些可不是为了鼓励你们去争取院舍分，因为我知道无论如何我们凯勒都会赢。谢谢大家，祝你们有美好的一天。

Good morning, dear friends, I’m Doris, Keller house leader, how was your holiday going? Must be exciting and fulling, I only just realize at Wednesday, one in the morning, that it’s this Friday we are coming back, and realize that the life of waking up at 11 would no longer exist, happy time passes quickly, and since I came to Harrow, it’s like someone has install an accelerator on me can’t believe it’s already the fourth year. Are you all ready? Cuz as a house leader, I can tell you that there are a whole bunch of events waiting for you. Anybody like here like swimming? Art? Play instrument? or spelling? Chances are there for you, don’t be shy to try and show off, don’t hesitate, just participate. I’m not saying these to encourage you to fight for house point, because I know we are going to win anyway. Thank you, have a nice day.

怀揣着对暑假的不舍，和见到新同学的兴奋，我们聚在了一起，希望你们有美好的一学期。我是杜伊，凯勒院舍的院舍长。

在过去的一年里，我们被哈罗的价值观滋养着,在学业和生活中不断挑战自己，一起度过了许多新颖的活动，像是校园读书周、音乐会和慈善长跑。其中对于我比较难忘的是运动会。那天在离终点不远的时候，我算是优雅摔倒了，最终踉跄着跑完了。隔壁院舍的院舍长陪我去到校医室时她说：“你很有运动精神。而且，你摔得姿势很优雅。”同一年，高年级都在准备各科竞赛。有一个团体商业竞赛让我印象深刻。我和不同院舍、年级的同学组队，尽管我们只有两天的准备时间，但我们就像是默契配合的团队，每个人都知道自己的角色。这是我第一次学到员工数量可以用公式计算。回顾这些挑战，我们获得了宝贵的经验和教训。这些经历塑造了我们的性格，让我们变得更加成熟和坚韧。

新的学年已经开始，我们将秉承哈罗传统，怀揣着“勇气、荣誉、互助、谦和”的四大价值观，向未来的困难发起挑战。我们的故事才刚刚开始。最后，不要度过还不错的一天，要度过精彩的一天。

With mixed feelings of reluctance, the end of summer vacation and excitement to meet new classmates, we gathered together. Wished you a wonderful semester. I am Yvonne the house leader of Keller House.

Over the past year, we have been nurtured by Harrow's four values and keep challenging ourself in school and in life. Shared many unique events like book week、the school concert and Long Ducker. the most unforgettable experience for me was sports day, I fell down in the process of sprinting. But I finished the running. My friend, the house leader of SQL went to the clinic with me and said, “You’re very sporty. Also, your fall was graceful." Furthermore, we preparing for subject competitions. the business competition left a deep impression on me. I teamed up with students from different houses and grades. Despite having only two days to prepare, we worked together like a well-coordinated team, with each person knowing their role.  In the end, we got a huge successful. Reflecting on these challenges, we gained valuable experience and lessons. These experiences shaped our character and made us more mature and resilient.

The new school year quietly begins, and we will uphold the tradition of Harrow, holding the four core values of "Courage, Honour, Fellowship, and Humility" in our hearts. With leadership attributes challenge the difficulties that lies in the future.  And always follow up and never given in!

今天站在这里，让我想起上一次站在这个台上是两个月以前，那一天，宋庆龄院舍赢得了院舍杯，这里变成了一片紫色的海洋。我到现在都还忘不了，当我捧着院舍杯时 内心的喜悦和激动。回想在年初竞选House Leader时，我曾经说过，我将带领大家为院舍赢得更多的积分，在新一年院舍杯颁奖仪式上，让紫色的旗帜飘扬全场。是的我们做到了！感谢我的宋庆龄队友们，我为你们感到骄傲。

 回想过去的一年，我和宋庆龄院舍的队友们同甘共苦，在赛场上努力拼搏，在学习上，你追我赶，为院舍争取的每一分，都让我们欢呼雀跃。当然，我们也遇到了很多困难，我们上了接近半年的网课，我们在划龙舟时差点掉进水里，我们在篮球比赛时受伤病困扰……还好在大家的顽强拼搏下，我们笑到了最后。感谢我的队友们，新的一年又是新的起点，希望我的宋庆龄队友们能够再接再厉，让明年六月的这里，再次变成一片紫色的海洋。

On the first day of the academic year, the Harrovians returned with vigour to start the 2022-

Dear teachers and my fellows, good morning. Standing here today, reminds me of last time I being on this stage, which was two months ago. On that day, SQL House won the House Cup, and this place became a sea of purple. I can still remember the joy and excitement when holding the house cup in my hands. Back to the time when I ran for house leader at the beginning of the year, I said that I would lead everyone to win more points for the house, and let the purple flag fly at speech day. Yes, we did it! Thank you all in Song Ching Ling house for fight with me. I’m so proud of everyone of you.

Looking back on the past year, my teammates in Soong Ching Ling House and I shared weal and woe. We worked hard on sports, competed with each other on learning and cheered for every point we got. Of course, we met a lot of difficulties, as well. Say the online classes for nearly half a year, falling into the water when rowing a dragon boat, and the injury we had in the basketball games... Fortunately, with everyone, we laughed up till the end. Thanks to my teammates, the New Year is a new starting point. I hope my teammates from SQL house can continue to work hard, and next year, the speech day in June, in here, let this place become a sea of purple again!

亲爱的老师，同学们，大家早上好，我是来自十年级的陈紫彰，希望大家都度过了一个非常愉快、开心的暑假，我们带着对暑假生活的美好记忆、和对新学期的向往，又走到了一起。今天，我们站在新的起跑线上，也意味着有新的机遇和挑战。

时间一晃，这已经是我在哈罗的第四年了，回想三年前，我怀着对初中生活的期盼，步入了这个充满故事的校园。于是三年转瞬即逝，我开始感叹时间飞逝，期间人们来来往往，在不断的分别中它也伴我成长，至少我们又能遇见更多的新面孔，并留下更多美好的回忆。

回首过去的一学年，我们在日常学习中不停的进步，在挑战周突破自我，在运动会挥洒汗水，还在各种院舍比赛中享受竞技乐趣，我们同心协力，一同谱写了一段新的篇章。在这一段成就自我的路上，我们需要勇敢面对，团结互助，珍惜荣誉，谦逊和蔼，对应着哈罗的四大价值观。

这里给了我们每个人定义自己的机会。难以割舍的每一个决定，也正是寻找自己的艰难过程，请好好珍惜身边的一切，保持敬畏之心，把握住我们该有的锐气和勇敢，那新的一学年，我们继续跟时间赛跑吧！谢谢大家！

Dear teachers and students, good morning, everyone, I'm Jonathan from grade 10, I hope you all had a very wonderful summer holiday, we come together again with our memories of summer, and the expecting for the new semester. Today, we stand on a new starting line, which also means there are new opportunities and challenges.

This is my fourth year in Harrow Chongqing. Thinking back to three years ago, with the expectation to middle school, I stepped into this place. And then three years have gone, I’m starting to realize that how time flies, during which people coming and going, and I know that saying goodbye is a way for us to move on, at least we get to meet more faces and leave more valuable memories.

Looking back on the past academic year, we made continuous progress in daily study, broke through ourselves in challenge week, putting our best foot forward at the sports day, and enjoyed every moment in house competitions. We worked together to write a new chapter. In this journey of self-achievement, we do our best to have these four harrow values, Courage, fellowship, humility and honour, maybe you haven't felt it yet, but they will certainly help you become a better person.

This place gives each of us the chance to define ourselves. Every decision that is difficult to choose is also the difficult process of finding ourselves. Please cherish everything around you, and holding on to the fortitude and bravery we should have., so let's continue to race against time in the new school year!
