2023-2024新学年伊始，清澜山学校在9月18日至20日召开课程说明会。课程说明会作为清澜山学校的传统，在每学年初举办，家长们能有机会与校长、授课老师和班主任面对面交流，全面了解学校的办学使命、课程设置和学科内容，家校合力、共同支持学生的学业提升和个性发展。

At the beginning of the 2023-2024 academic year, Tsinglan School held a curriculum night from September 18th to 20th. As a tradition of Tsinglan School, the curriculum night is held at the beginning of each school year. Parents have the opportunity to have face-to-face exchanges with the principal, teachers, and homeroom teachers. This allows them to gain a comprehensive understanding of the school's educational mission, curriculum content, and academic expectations. Through this collaboration between home and school, we jointly support students' academic advancement and personal development.

本次的课程说明会以全校家长会开启，李文平校长带来了 “深度链接，持续绽放，迈向清澜山高质量发展新高峰”的主旨演讲。李校长特别指出，从深耕学术、发展内涵到赏识激励、赋能成长，清澜山学校已经进入高质量发展的新阶段，老师们一路奔跑，为清澜梦而奋斗。

The curriculum night commenced with an all-school parents’ meeting. Principal Li Wenping delivered a keynote speech titled "Deep Connection, Continuous Blossoming, and Advancing Towards a New Peak of High-Quality Development of Tsinglan." Principal Li specifically emphasized that from strengthening the academia to appreciating, motivating, and empowering to growth, to forging deep connections and honing our skills, the school has entered a new phase of high-quality development. All faculty unite to achieve Tsinglan Dream.

本年度的关键词是“链接”，希望加强学校和社区、和社会、和世界的链接，凝聚学校与家长、与老师、与学生的合力，一起打造更紧密的清澜共同体。李校长特别强调，家庭教育在孩子身心健康成长中的关键作用，构建温暖家庭，相亲相爱的培养孩子，让孩子感知到家庭的支持与鼓励，让孩子在一个生命舒展的状态下自由绽放。

The keyword for this academic year is "Connection". The aim is to strengthen the bond between the school and the community, society, and the world, uniting the efforts of the school with parents, teachers, and students to forge a tighter Tsinglan community. Principal Li highlighted the pivotal role of family education in the healthy mental and physical development of children. Building a warm family and nurturing children with love and closeness allows them to feel the support and encouragement from home, enabling them to flourish freely in a state of well-being and growth.

The key focus of the junior high school department this year is "Solid." Director Guo Hang shared specific measures taken by the middle school to establish deep connections between teachers and students. These measures are designed to empower both students and teachers in their school life. Through appreciation and motivation, students are encouraged to continuously push their boundaries and challenge themselves. Throughout this process, the inherent curiosity and creativity of the students are cherished and nurtured. Director Mr. Raviola shared the new changes in the teaching requirements of the middle school: the introduction of the brand-new Cornell notebooks, the optimized subject assessment policy, and the launch of various special activities and projects, which offer more opportunities for junior high school students to showcase themselves. The grade leaders also made their appearances at the grade-level meetings. The keyword for the sixth grade is "Adapt", for the seventh grade is "Independence", and for the eighth grade is "Excel".

During the grade-specific curriculum meetings, the Chinese Language team highlighted the significance of Chinese as a mother tongue in deeply rooting students in Chinese culture. The English team discussed the role of reading original English texts in enhancing linguistic thinking. The Math team shared key methods to clarify learning objectives and logical frameworks. The Science team showcased student-initiated scientific experiments and handmade display boards. Meanwhile, the Humanities team presented their engaging and educative activities, emphasizing the joy of learning in their lessons.

在高中部课程说明会上，九年级家长第一次正式地了解高中的学业要求。在开学的前两周，家长与学生逐步了解高中阶段的各方面要求，包括学生未来的课程发展方向、升学指导支持，以及高中部给学生提供的课外拓展的机会，如学生会、社团、学术拓展平台、清翔计划等。课程说明会可以让家长们了解到高中对学术严谨性的重视和具体要求。值得称赞的是，开学以来，九年级学生非常出色地适应了从初中生到高中生的角色变化。

Grade 9 parents had an opportunity to see firsthand the academic expectations for high school. Having spent the first 2 weeks of school reorienting the students with a high school mindset the parents where now exposed to the high school culture and emphasis on academic rigor. The grade 9 students must be complimented on the exceptional way in which they have adapted to the change.

Grade 10 students have an opportunity to write external examinations for the first time in May and June next year which can be a daunting affair. This can be a very stressful time for parents as well. However, the clear expectations laid out by the teachers and the significant support on offer ensure that students and parents are well supported through their journey. College Counselling also begins to play a larger role as students begin seriously planning their post Tsinglan academic careers. Our team of fantastic college counselling were on hand to meet with parents and share vital information about the college application process.

在为十一和十二年级家长举办的A Level和AP课程说明会上，每位教师都详细介绍了课程安排，强调了学生取得成功所需的重要资源，并就家长如何在孩子的学业之旅中发挥支持作用提供了具体指导。他们的介绍条理清晰、言之有物，赢得了与会家长的积极反馈。值得一提的是，本次课程说明会上还有Cecilia和Renee、Yolanda三位十二年级学生志愿者，她们是本次课程说明会的现场协调者，还从学生的视角，提供了一些在课程上学习经验分享给家长参考。十一年级和十二年级是学生在高中生涯的关键时期，保持较高的学业水平至关重要，同时准备大学申请已成为学生这两年的重要任务。我们经验丰富的学科教师和升学指导团队可以在学生的学业和升学准备上提供宝贵的帮助和指导。

The A Level and AP sharing sessions delivered to our grade 11 and 12 parents focused on reinforcing our commitment to their children’s academic success, providing a detailed breakdown of the course expectations and offering up valuable advice on how to overcome some of the expected challenges during these two demanding years of high school. These are pivotal years in which maintaining a high academic standard is essential as college applications become a central focus. Our experienced teachers and counselors were available to answer specific questions and to provide valuable individual advice and support.

Most importantly, our homeroom teachers had the opportunity to reconnect with parents during the evening and showcase the different projects and activities that have strengthened the bond between students and the Tsinglan community since the start of the academic year. The parent’s encouragement and support are an essential reason for Tsinglan’s continued growth and the students continued success. The mutual warmth and camaraderie empower them with a stronger collective momentum for the journey ahead.

去年李校长为我们“赋能”，让每个人得到成长。今年李校长用“链接”，为我们清澜山的孩子们创造更好的家校成长环境。“课程说明会”本身就是一场以实在的课程体系为载体，把学校、家长和孩子很好的“链接”在一起。非常感叹学校为孩子提供完备精细的课程体系！非常感谢学校用实际行动尊重我们每一位家长！

作为家长，深知十一年级对孩子的重要性，心中自然有了些许的焦虑和茫然，对班级课程说明会也有不少的期盼。

以前家长会主要是老师讲台上讲，家长在下面听，少有家长提问。昨晚的家长会班会环节，曲孟雅老师定调为家校共育的讨论会，瞬间没有了以前家长会的拘谨，大家很快进入主题，抛出心中各自的疑问，并热烈地参与讨论，畅所欲言，互动频繁，气氛火热。特别是探讨学生今年开学以来，班里学生的身心健康和学习状态方面，曲老师作了非常详细的陈述，对已经出现和可能会出现的问题进行了阐述、解答和预防，并予以适当的拓展；同时也引用了一些实例，探讨解决问题的思路和方法，并强调家长要在家时刻关注学生状态，做好坚实后盾。

通过这次家长会，我认为是给了家长很大的信心，深刻认识与学校老师积极沟通的重要性，不仅消除了焦虑，而且更加明确了目标和方向。

今年四月份我们拿到绿卡签证，后来一直在出不出去读美高这件事上纠结了近两个月。在经过各种排列法，我慎之又慎决定留下来！一直到昨天参加了学校课程说明会后，证明留下来是对的！清澜山给了我一个大大的惊喜！孩子们也在安定后有条不紊的发展。

感恩学校的领导这些年努力耕耘，使得孩子们躺在知识的海洋里幸福的成长！Mike 也感谢我一直坚持让他们读清澜山，使得他们在清澜山学到很多东西。

我是十一年级的家长，见证了孩子从八年级到十一年级清澜山学校的变化，非常感慨！

高中课程说明会AP专场介绍了高中部开设的二十一门的AP课程，涵盖AP英文语言、AP理科、AP计算机科学、AP艺术等课程，今年还加增了难度相当大的AP语言研讨会课程。

高中部的老师们不但都是名牌大学毕业、有海外留学经历甚至有的还是博士。他们非常有水平、经验丰富，把要教授的课程难易程度、学习进度、评估标准一一展示给家长们。

有的老师为了让孩子们学习方便，还创建了自己的学习网站。有的老师带孩子们外出考察核电站污水排污处理等等。形式各种各样，内容丰富多彩。他们的目地就是要让我们的孩子们通过自己的努力考出5分的好成绩，还要让孩子们学以致用。

感恩学校领导们的明智之举，把丰富的教学资源传递给孩子们且不遗余力地去帮助他们。借用李校长的一句话：培养孩子们眼里有光、心里有梦、脚下有路！并赋予疫情后的“connecting”希望清澜山学校越走越好，加油！
