戏剧是一门综合性艺术，集合了形体、音乐、台词、表演、舞美设计、戏剧文学等艺术的学习。学生们在戏剧学习中用自己的身体来激活故事、讲述故事，而不是仅仅使用文字。学生们通过表演训练能够进入角色的空间，并用戏剧去探索如何使用自己的声音和肢体，如何使用时间和空间以及如何使用戏剧的所有元素。清澜山的戏剧课堂，允许学生们在学习和排练中打开想象力，让自己的想象力、自己的身体和情感参与到每节课的训练和剧目的排练中。

Drama is a comprehensive performing art that combines the study of Acting, Music, Dance, Design, as well as other Arts. Students physically engage using their voice, face, and body language to tell stories and create characters in Drama learning, rather than just using written language. Through performance training, students are able to enter the space of characters and explore how to use their voices and body language, how to use time and space, and how to use all the elements of Drama to engage and captivate an audience. In our school's Drama classes, students open up their mind’s during learning and rehearsal, allowing their imagination, body, and emotions to participate in the training and rehearsal of each lesson.

戏剧课堂上的学生们是非常活跃并且是非常享受的。通过老师为学生们设定的假定空间，孩子们依靠想象力和创造力，他们的思维在课堂上翱翔，他们在课堂上互相合作，经常能够迸发出新的创意，这提升了自己的团队合作能力和创新能力。他们在课堂上勇敢地输出自己的想法，很多学生从在公众面前的羞涩和紧张逐渐变得落落大方，提升了自己的自信心。他们用自己的口语和肢体语言去和同伴们沟通，在戏剧游戏中掌握了沟通的一些基本技巧，这提升了自己的沟通能力。

The students in the drama class are very active and find it enjoyable. Through the hypothetical space set by the teacher for the students, they rely on imagination and creativity, and their thinking soars in the classroom. They cooperate with each other, often bursting with new ideas, which enhances their teamwork and innovative abilities. They bravely express their ideas in the classroom, and many students have gradually transformed from shyness and nervousness in front of the public to engaging and self-assured, enhancing their confidence. They use their voiced and physical cues to communicate with their peers, mastering some basic communication skills in Drama games, which improves their overall communication skills.

上学期清澜山戏剧俱乐部出品的音乐剧《小美人鱼》在清澜社区引起了广泛影响；今年，戏剧俱乐部选择了在全球上演超过500场的《怪兽史瑞克》作为剧社的排演剧目，这部剧在2009年曾获得托尼奖8项大奖提名。

The Tsinglan Drama Club's production of "The Little Mermaid Jr." last semester earned many positive reviews and high praise from the community. This semester, the Theatre department chose "Shrek the Musical Jr." as this year’s Musical Theatre Production. This production has been performed over 500 times around the world and received eight Tony Award nominations in 2009.

这部音乐剧对清澜学子们的吸引力也非常大，吸引了超过200名小学生、40名中学生报名参加选角。最终，38名小学生、20余名中学生入选。

This musical has been very exciting to the students, which has made the casting of the Drama Club even more popular. A total of 200 students in the Primary School signed up to audition as well as 40 students from the Middle School and High School participated in the auditions. 

Kelsey Rivera 是清澜山学校戏剧学科组的组长，戏剧专业毕业的她曾是美国的一名音乐剧演员，她带领戏剧组的老师们开发了从小学到高中的一整套中小学戏剧教学体系，从每个大单元设计到每节课的教学计划。

Kelsey Rivera is the Head of our school's Drama Department. She graduated with a B.F.A in Theatre Performance and an M.A in Theatre Education, as well as a Musical Theatre actress from the United States. She has led the Drama Department team and developed a scaffolded Theatre curriculum from Primary school to High school.

戏剧老师们通过团队合作给学生们呈现了一个又一个既有趣味性又有营养的课堂，让孩子们去了解戏剧、发现戏剧、探索戏剧，在戏剧的学习中发现自己的潜力，遇见更好的自己。

The Drama teachers present students with one interesting and beneficial class after another through their teamwork and exciting lessons. They provide opportunities for children to learn, discover, explore, and uncover their potential through Drama Education and meet their better selves.

戏剧能够助力孩子成长。让我们一起走进戏剧课堂，走进排练厅，在老师们的带领下，打开孩子们创作的源泉。在这个学年，祝愿更多的同学能够在戏剧教育中受益。

Drama can help children grow. Let's enter the Drama classroom and rehearsal hall together, and under the guidance of the teachers, open up the source of children's creativity. In this academic year, I wish more students could benefit from Drama Education.
