At Harrow Chongqing, which has inherited the philosophy of " holistic education" from Harrow School in the UK for 450 years, we understand that we need to create the leaders with leadership capabilities.To create leaders, a student should not be evaluated only on the basis of his or her grades. A report card is not enough to help a child develop holistically. At Harrow Chongqing, while we pursue academic excellence, we also use a multi-dimensional,360-degree approach. We ensure that each student's academic needs are met to the fullest extent possible. This motivates them to realise their full potential and find their own "light".


在哈罗重庆,学术评估是教学的重要组成部分,其目的不在于分数本身,而在于通过科学全面的评估策略帮助孩子在不同阶段优化未来的学习方向与目标。日常我们通过过程性评估与总结性评估帮助学生更全面地了解自己。


❖过程性评估 动态优化未来方向

“过程性评估”(AfL),主要通过日常小测验、阶段性测试、项目展示等学习过程,帮助老师与学生总结形成阶段性学习成果与调整依据,帮助学生动态优化学习方法、调整未来学习的“航线”方向,从而辅助下一阶段的学习。


❖总结性评估 静态总结未来目标

“总结性评估"(AoL),是对学生较长阶段的总结与梳理,在每个学期末会形成总结性评价。在哈罗重庆,每一学年包含三个英式学期(Term),在每个学期末我们会给出每位学子的评估报告。在这份报告不仅仅是学术的成果报告,而是在哈罗全人教育基石之上,让学生和家长可以会全面了解学生的考试表现、日常课堂表现、出勤状况、校园生活及行为表现,帮助孩子确定未来“航行”目标。


在哈罗重庆,评估并不是一项只属于老师的活动。过程性评估中我们期待学生能积极主动地为自己的学习发展出谋划策,在总结性评估中我们希望激励学生找到自己的潜能并为此努力。在学校与学生的共同努力下,让孩子们成为能够掌控自己学习航向的“领航者”。

At Harrow Chongqing, academic assessment is an important part of teaching and learning, not in terms of scores per se, but in terms of scientific and comprehensive assessment strategies to help students optimise their future learning directions and goals at different stages. On a day-to-day basis, we use both process and summative assessments to help students gain a fuller understanding of themselves.


·Assessment for Learning

"Assessment for Learning" (AfL),through daily quizzes, stage tests, project presentations and other learning processes, it helps teachers and students to summarise and form stage-by-stage learning outcomes and adjustments, helping students to dynamically optimise their learning methods and adjust the direction of their future learning routes, so as to assist them in the next stage of learning.

·Assessment of Learning

"Summative Assessment" (AoL), which is a summary and compilation of a student's longer term, is produced at the end of each term. At Harrow Chongqing, each academic year consists of three terms, at the end of which each student is given an assessment report. This report is not just an academic report, but rather a comprehensive picture of the student's performance in exams, daily classroom performance, attendance, campus life and behaviour, based on the cornerstones of Harrow's holistic approach to education, which will help students and their parents to determine the goals for their future 'voyage'.

At Harrow Chongqing, assessment is not a teacher-only activity. In process assessment we expect students to take an active role in their own learning, and in summative assessment we want to inspire them to find their potential and work towards it. Together, the school and the pupils are working together to enable the children to become 'navigators' who are in control of their own learning.



在哈罗重庆,我们坚信每个孩子都有属于自己的高光之处,分数更不是评价每个孩子的唯一标准。通过各学科老师日常对学生的观察,我们通过四项成绩等级和三项努力程度共同刻画学生在各个学科方面的表现,给出学期学习情况总结,学生也将进行自我评定,回顾整个学期取得的成就,也为下一学年设定学习目标。

良性的学术竞争氛围有助于激励孩子们挑战自我迈向更高的阶梯,但在哈罗重庆我们不会公布学生的成绩防止造成比分比排名的竞争,学期成绩单只有家长和学生能够登录到教务系统看到自己的成绩。我们希望每个孩子都能在正确的价值观基础上,只做更好的自己。

At Harrow Chongqing, we believe that every child has his or her own highlights and that marks are not the only criteria for evaluating every child.Through daily observation of students by their subject teachers, we use four grades and three levels of effort to portray their performance in each subject, giving a summary of their learning during the term, and a self-assessment of their achievements throughout the term, as well as setting learning goals for the next academic year.


A healthy atmosphere of academic competition helps to motivate children to challenge themselves and move up the ladder, but at Harrow Chongqing we do not publish students' results to prevent competition over rankings, and only parents and students are able to log on to the academic system to see their grades in the term results. We want every child to be a better version of themselves based on the right values.


哈罗的院舍制是英式关怀体系的核心。将不同年级的学生汇聚于同一个哈罗大家庭,为学生营造小而紧密的社区,依托院舍制开展的一系列学术和体育竞赛,将培养孩子们的归属感与荣誉感,鼓励孩子们为院舍做出积极贡献。

除了学术成绩,院舍得分(House Points)是衡量每个孩子日常学习生活与院舍活动表现的重要指标,无论是每日的优秀表现,还是每一次团体竞赛中的积极贡献、勇于承担、无私互助,都会为学生与院舍带来加分。每个孩子在校园中的生活闪光,都被我们看见并记录。

Harrow's House system is at the heart of the British Pastoral. It brings together students from different years into one big Harrow family, creating a small but close-knit community. A series of academic and sporting competitions based on the House system will foster a sense of belonging and honour, and encourage students to make a positive contribution to the House.

Apart from academic performance, House Points are an important indicator of each child's performance in his/her daily academic life and house activities. Whether it is a daily good performance, or a positive contribution, courageous commitment and selflessness in a group competition, all these will bring extra points to the students and the house. Every child's life in the campus is seen and recorded by us.


在哈罗重庆,我们十分重视家校沟通,每月一次的家长课堂为家长展示课堂教学过程、每两周一次的家长茶话会讨论教育相关问题,以及在每学期末的考试结束后,我们会召开“一对一”的家长会,每位家长都将与每一位科任老师面谈从而充分了解学生的表现。


教育远不止于课堂,家长与家庭生活在孩子们的成长过程中也承担着重要的作用。我们鼓励家长参与到孩子的教育中,以耐心和爱心共同点亮孩子身上的“未来之光”。

At Harrow Chongqing, we attach great importance to home-school communication, with monthly parent classes to show parents the teaching process in the classroom, fortnightly parent tea meetings to discuss education-related issues, and "one-to-one" parent-teacher meetings at the end of each semester after exams, where each parent meets with each subject teacher to fully understand the student's performance. Each parent will meet with each subject teacher to get a full understanding of the student's performance.

Education goes beyond the classroom. Parents and family life play an important role in the development of children. We encourage parents to be involved in their children's education and to work together with patience and love to brighten their children's "light of the future".
