Chinese New Year Celebration

No matter how the seasons change, love and blessings always leave us with good memories. In this beautiful season of Chinese New Year 2024, the teachers and students of ASJ Secondary gathered to make their wishes for the New Year with spring couplets “Chunlian”. With this indispensable element of the CNY Celebration, they welcomed the Spring Festival and immersed in the traditional Chinese New Year culture.

“年年岁岁花相似，岁岁年年人不同”。无论季节与面孔如何变化， 爱与祝福总能收藏岁月之永恒。在2024中国农历新年将至的美好季节，东莞ASJ中学部师生齐聚一堂，在喜悦欢欣的氛围里，提笔挥毫写下对新一年的期盼，用华夏儿女亘古不变的方式迎春接福， 体验春节文化的魅力。

With the New Year's song playing in the background, students received their first "red pocket"  of the New Year, then watched a short video demonstration, and couldn't wait to start the "Spring Calligraphy Competition" at their station, filling the whole space with laughter, joy, and the smell of ink.

随着新年祝福的歌声响起，学生们收到了他们的第一份新年“红包”，随后，学生们认真观看了挥春的演示短片，迫不及待地在工作台上开启“挥春”书法艺术比拼，现场欢声笑语，好不热闹。

With the traditional black ink and gold ink embellishment, the students combined the traditional calligraphy and painting art to create spring charm works in Chinese characters："龍(dragon)", "福(blessing)", "春(spring)" and so on. Moreover, many exquisite paper cutting works were seen at the display area, exhibiting the students' hands-on skills and creativity. At the end of the event, some students put up their spring charms and couplets in their classrooms, some gifted them to their beloved teachers, spreading love and blessings to the whole ASJ community.

师生们个个创意无限，以传统的黑墨或是耀眼的金墨点缀，将传统书法与绘画艺术结合起来，创意出“龙”“福”“春”等各式挥春作品。不仅如此，展台上还展出了许多学生们根据自己的喜好创作的个性剪纸作品，他们的心灵手巧让人惊叹。活动结束后，学生们有些将作品张贴在教室当中，有些赠送给老师们收藏，让爱与祝福传递到整个ASJ社区。

With a simple brush and ink, we drop good wishes, students got to experience the traditional culture of the ancient Chinese "Four Jewels of the Scholar" through this activity. At the same time, they affirmed their New Year wishes through handwriting Chinese calligraphy.

“提笔落下美好祝愿， 灿烂烟火绽放满天”。通过此次“挥春迎新”活动，学生们不仅重新体会到古人笔墨纸砚里的文化底蕴，也在书写过程中感受到文字所蕴含的新年期望。
