幼儿园家长工作坊:游戏的力量

顺应儿童玩耍的天性是当前关键的教育理念。“基于游戏的学习”改变了传统的教学方式。上周三,海归幼儿园教师 Ms.Filip、Ms.Luz和郭倩老师主持分享的家长工作坊中,家长们受邀体验了游戏学习的乐趣和力量。他们从直接感知和亲身体验的过程中发现,当鼓励孩子们游戏时,孩子们会得到有前景、有意义的全面发展。



但是,什么是基于游戏的学习?儿童的好奇心是这种教育方法的基础。儿童寻求对周围世界的理解;他们不断面临身体、智力、情感和社会方面的挑战。这种方法旨在以最自然的方式,即通过游戏,整合这些领域并为其提供答案。通过提供丰富的环境、实用的工具、创造性的空间和专业的指导,孩子们学会了独立思考、解决问题和建立不同概念之间的联系。


为了在家长工作坊中取得最佳效果,老师们要求家长将自己当作孩子,并为其提供了游戏材料、游戏空间、必要的支持和鼓励。家长们依次感受到了语言区、数学区、探究区、建构区和表演区等学习区域的游戏。学习区域的设置让家长们体验到了自主性:他们本能地在各个中心活动,尝试使用各种材料,进行互动游戏。



“游戏应随时随地进行”,这是贯穿整个家长工作坊的主旨。老师鼓励家长让他们的孩子自由地、以自己的方式、自己的节奏游戏和学习。这能让他们与周围环境建立联系,促进自我意识,建立有助于调节情绪的关系。工作坊结束时,家长们回顾并反思了自己对“游戏”的看法,并愿以全新的视角将“游戏”作为工具,让孩子们成为终身学习者。

Following the natural inclination of children to play has been a key point for education in the current age.  The “Play-based Learning” approach has changed the way teaching happens. Last Wednesday, during a recent workshop led by OCAC Early Year teachers Mr. Filip, Ms. Guo Qian, and Ms. Luz, parents were invited to experience the wonders and power of learning through play. They discovered from first-hand information, and hands-on experience the promising, meaningful, and holistic development that takes part when children are encouraged to play.



But, what is Play-based learning? Children’s curious minds are the foundation of this approach to education. Children seek to make sense of the world around them; they continuously face physical, intellectual, emotional, and social challenges. This methodology seeks to integrate and provide answers to all these areas in the most natural way to them, which is through play. By providing a rich environment, functional tools, creative spaces, and professional guidance children learn to think independently, solve problems, and make connections between different concepts.


To achieve the best results in the workshop, the hosts asked the parents to turn into children. They were given tools, space, support, and encouragement to work in different centers: literacy, mathematics, inquiry, construction, art, and drama. The areas were set for the parents to experience agency: they instinctively moved around the centers, experimented with various materials, and finally played with each other.



‘Play should happen anywhere at any time’, this was the message that transcended throughout the workshop. Parents were encouraged to allow their children to feel free, to play-learn in their own way, at their own pace. As this enables them to make connections to their surroundings, by promoting self-awareness and building relationships that help them regulate their emotions. By the end of the workshop, the parents reflected and challenged their thoughts on ‘play’, welcoming a new perspective of using it as a tool for the children to become lifelong learners.
