每天清晨，IHS高中部的学生们一到教室，就开始了每日英语阅读计划。在老师们的引导下，英文阅读已经渐渐成为了学生们自主学习的一部分。
The IHS students begin their daily English reading program as soon as they arrive in classroom every morning. With the guidance of the teachers, English reading has gradually become part of the students' independent learning.
随着每日的坚持，学生们的阅读兴趣得到了极大的激发，阅读氛围也日渐浓厚。在阅读网站后台数据显示，累计阅读1500分钟以上，阅读量在20万字以上的同学有Wang Shiyu，Cai Jiajing，Jiang Shiya，Cai Shanqi. 阅读的坚持，在增加知识的同时，也一定会让他们的英语更快的提高。
Students’ interest in reading has been greatly stimulated and the reading atmosphere is getting stronger day by day. Wang Shiyu, Cai Jiajing, Jiang Shiya, and Cai Shanqi have spent around 1500 minutes reading and read more than 200,000 words, according to the data from the reading website. The persistence of reading will surely make their English improve faster while increasing their knowledge.
我们在此对上述学生提出表扬，希望有更多的学生像他们一样爱上阅读，享受阅读带来的乐趣。
We would like to commend the above students and hope that more students would fall in love with reading and enjoy reading as much as they can.
看来，英语阅读已经融入了更多学生的日常课程学习和生活中，学生们从阅读中获得更多的乐趣。“英语阅读计划”将英语学习变得灵活有趣，学生通过阅读英文书籍，感受到了英文文化和语言的魅力。他们在汲取书中知识的同时，渐渐掌握了大量的词汇，英语语言能力也在潜移默化中进步。他们甚至可以参与创作，选择感兴趣的书籍阅读，自主自愿的沉浸在语言学习中。这也正是学校大力推行“英语阅读计划”的初衷。
English reading has been integrated into more students' daily curriculum learning and life, and students get more fun from reading English. Reading Programme allows learning flexible and interesting, which enables students to feel the charm of English culture and language. While they gain knowledge from books, they gradually acquire a rich vocabulary, improve writing ability, and improve their English language ability. The purpose of this programme is to get students involved in creating, choosing books they are interested in and immersing in language learning.
我们一般6-8周为在读学生提供一次可持续的阶段性测评，因为定期进行阶段性测试把控学生学习进程不仅有利于学生学习的长效发展和阅读能力的持续性跟踪培养，而且有利于根据学生当前的阅读能力水平动态地提供更为精准且科学的分级、阅读建议。
We generally provide students with a sustainable periodic assessment once every 6-8 weeks, because regular periodic testing is not only conducive to the long-term development of students' learning and continuous tracking of their reading ability, but also to provide more accurate and scientific grading and reading suggestions based on students' current reading level.
同时，在期末Star测评报告中，涵盖可以提供给家长的报告，用于告知家长该生的测评结果，且报告下方还设计了签名栏和意见栏，方便教师、家长签名并附上个人意见，同时报告中也会对GE，PR，IRL，ZPD等术语加以说明解释，有利于老师以及家长之间沟通，帮助孩子保持学习节奏，跟上课程进度。
At the same time, the final Star assessment report covers the student's assessment results, and it is designed with a signature field and an opinion field at the bottom for teachers and parents to sign and attach their personal opinions. The report also explains the terms GE, PR, IRL, ZPD, etc., which facilitate communication between teachers as well as parents and help children to maintain their learning.

Fang Zhengzheng：从前我自己学习英语的时候，只知道背单词和练习，进步非常缓慢并且没有什么效果。通过一段时间阅读以后，感觉词汇量和阅读水平都提高了。特别是网站其中的分类功能，它能提供你喜欢的书籍，根据你的能力水平来分类。star reading也是同样的道理，他让我认清自己的水平，不只是盲目的学习，给我提供了一个具体的目标以及进步的动力。
I used to mainly focus on memorize words when it comes to English learning so my progress has been really minimum. After two-month reading on myon, I feel that my vocabulary and reading level have improved. The star reading test allows me to recognize my own level and gives me a concrete goal and motivation to improve.

Cai Jiajing：In the last three months, I've spent about 1500 minutes reading on Myon, and I've learnt a lot from the books because I read a variety of novels that are quite diverse. Regular reading can not only boost your mood, but also help you enrich and better yourself. Reading frequently can help you cultivate your cultural awareness as well as gain a wealth of information. Reading is a method of collecting knowledge that can not only extend one's horizons but also increase the value of one's life.

After the two-month reading experience, I have a lot of harvest, and a few words is not enough to describe. Once heard a saying: slow or small steps, it is always good to move forward. Myon reading is like a plant absorbing sunshine every day, and my English knowledge is like a tree absorbing myon's sunshine every day. There are many different kinds of books on Myon, which is like an "online library" where we can choose from all kinds of books.

Lin Nanye：通过阅读Myon，我能感受到自己的词汇量增加了，Myon能够提供很多不一样的书籍，让我用英语去了解了很多知识，有关科学，有关动物，有关人物传记等，也能够根据你的喜好和阅读能力等水平去提供合适的书籍。star reading 的测试，能够很直观的反映我的英语水平，能够让我清楚自己该怎么提高自己的英语，在几次的测试中我也清楚了自己英语方面的提升。
Through reading on Myon, I feel that my vocabulary have increased, and Myon is able to provide many different books that allow me to learn a lot in English. It also provides the right books according to your preferences and reading ability level. Star reading test is able to reflect my English level visually, and makes it clear on how to improve my English.

Jiang Shiya：I've been reading on Myon for nearly three months. It is extremely useful for students studying English. Because it provides me the opportunity of selecting a book that corresponds to my English level. In addition, I also learned some new words that I had not seen before. I believe the nature accent is Myon's best feature; We can follow the pronunciation and won't sound as "chinglish." Overall, I think that is a fantastic reading website.

Ms Zhuyan：Myon is an innovative online library that connects students with different books. There is a large variety of books on the platform that are graded at varying levels which enable students of differing levels to engage successfully with the books provided. On average, students in my class read 3-5 books each over the last three months. This resulted in some remarkable achievements with regard to the students’ English language skills and abilities.

Mr Sam：Reading is a fundamental skill used throughout an adult’s life. Reading within school takes several forms from reading during class for gaining knowledge, reading to complete assignments, and reading for pleasure. We require students to read each morning from 07:50-08:20 because habit forming, and regular practice are key to success and building fluency. The students are provided with a range of texts, and we believe choice in activities is important for reading success. Students can utilise reading software online (MyOn Reading), they can contact their English teacher if they have their own reading books and would like to continue reading these. We require students to record their progress and complete a Reading Log to encourage reflection and deeper thinking about the topics and issues in the texts. Parents can help students by reading with them at home and sharing articles, current affairs magazines and discussing current issues from around the world. These types of topics from wider society will help build confidence and knowledge which are ideal for IELTS preparation and future study. Mr David：Students in the IGCSE Literature and AS literature classes focus on reading and analyzing set texts from the Cambridge Syllabus. Students are directed and encouraged to practice active reading skills and annotate their texts to capture, while they read, their thoughts, questions, and reactions to what they’re reading. After each poem, chapter of a novel, or act of play, students complete a reading and analysis log, commenting on specific language, structure, or formal elements of the work.

By implementing the English Reading Program, we hope to achieve the following goals: first, more students fall in love with reading and expand their knowledge; second, students improve their English through reading; third, the improvement of English reading ability itself help students in terms of their high school and college studies.
英文阅读能力，在很大程度上决定了孩子们在国际体系的学习力。希望更多的孩子们尽早启动英文阅读计划。
The ability to read in English largely determines the learning motivation of students in the international education system. We hope that more students start English reading programs as early as possible.
