Mr. Yau's autobiography is a great inspiration to anyone who loves mathematics. It enable us to appreciate the beauty and purity of mathematics in itself, and also makes us yearn more for future mathematics study. What is more commendable is that you can read a real Yau in this book: he has won the Fields Medal and is admired, but also has been frustrated and even criticized. It brings us closer to a great mathematical mind, to feel his life and experience.
