The new lunar year has already begun, and hopefully it follows a relaxing and enjoyable break for all of you, whether you stayed in China or travelled elsewhere.
Although the predictably unpredictable Shanghai weather meant a damp start on our first day back in school, we welcomed all of our returning and new students on Thursday and it was wonderful to see everyone raring to go! We now usher in the year of the Dragon, or Loong, symbolising strength, courage, and success.
In the traditional Chinese calendar, this lunar year - known as "Jia Chen甲辰" - the imagery of Jia is that of a thriving tree, signifying a fresh start. With its arrival, we hope everyone can embody the spirit of the dragon, embracing challenges and moving forward with creativity, confidence, and consideration within the community.
As a school, we will continue to provide high-quality education and a diverse range of activities, fostering comprehensive development in students and preparing them to be learners who are prepared for their futures, with an international perspective and outstanding capabilities.
The Year of the Dragon is full of vitality and enthusiasm. May you maintain your curiosity and actively participate in classroom and community activities. May the Year of the Dragon bring you abundant success and joy!
We wish all of our students academic success, and everyone in our community good health and happiness!
