学生时代，暑假永远是令人期待、令人向往的。大家在热烈的夏日里欢笑与嬉戏，在习习夏风中探索大千世界，尽享属于这个年龄的时间与自由。

今年夏天，深圳国王学校与英国母校合力推出夏令营，为学生们创造出与众不同的难忘盛夏。11天的时间里，学生们在英国国王学校感受千年名校的真实课堂，体验编程、游泳、击剑、足球等特色课程，还游览了千年古堡、坎特伯雷、伦敦、哈利波特工作室…丰富行程缔造无数精彩瞬间，这些美好记忆也将时常被想起，串联起珍贵的学生生涯。

风吹年年，英国坎特伯雷国王学校穿过1400多年的历史，如今已是英国乃至欧洲历史最悠久的名校。当学生们踏入国王学校所在的肯特郡时，就被拥有千年历史的古堡里，依旧是国王学校日常使用的教学楼、商店、宿舍楼而深深震撼住，长途飞行的疲倦也被一扫而空。

夏令营期间，学生们不仅通过英文全项提高课程，大大提升了英文口语、听力及写作能力。大家还体验了国王特色校本课程——编程、戏剧、击剑、机器人课程等等，在轻松有趣的氛围中学有所得。

值得一提的是，英国本部教授体育及心理健康的Ms. Megan将在8月份来到深圳校区，继续她在国王的教学生涯。此次夏令营，她的专业与活力获得了学生们的极大认可。新学年，她也将在深圳国王继续发光发热。

此次夏令营，还专为高年级学生开设了大学升学指导课程。学生们在英国本部老师的带领下探访了剑桥大学，并接受了剑桥大学招生官的专属指导，获得了珍贵的大学申请攻略。除此之外，英国国王本部的老师也给学生们讲解了如何撰写申请文书及其注意事项。

夏令营的丰富多彩，不仅体现在充实的学习生活，还体现在穿插其中的各类文化活动。去到英国，当然不能将学生们固定在课堂，而是要让他们在更宽广的世界中感受文化的多元。

夏令营开始时，英国本部老师就带着学生们参观了国王校园，触摸母校在千年历史进程中的变迁，感受校园的沉稳与安逸。

此外，学生们游览了坎特伯雷这个充满文化气息的城市。在专业讲解员的介绍中，大家也更为深入了解到坎特伯雷的悠久历史。学生们全英文的自如表达，以及对于细节的追问，也让讲解员老师记忆深刻。

通过伦敦之旅，学生们感受到了这座城市现代而又古老的魅力，看到了国会大厦的风范和伦敦塔桥的壮阔。他们在伦敦街头走走停停，在丰富行程中拓展眼界，充分感受和理解文化多元、价值多元。

此外，学生们还打卡了哈利波特工作室。迷幻的灯光，奇妙的音乐，犹如时空穿梭般，学生们瞬间进入到神奇变换的魔法世界。参观过程中，大家不停在各个魔幻场景中驻足，感叹电影团队出奇制胜的设计与工艺。

最后到达的巨型城堡模型，也给学生们带来了巨大的震撼，并让他们陷入奇妙的幻想中…

11天的时间转瞬即逝，行程即将结束之际，国王学校也专门举办了结营典礼并为每位学生颁发证书，为此次夏令营画上圆满句号。所有师生齐聚一堂，共同记录这值得纪念的暑期生活。

A Study Trip to King's Canterbury

SUMMER PROGRAMME

The full immersion into English that the Summer Programme allowed for greatly benefitted the students' English speaking, listening, and writing skills. Moreover, the classes in programming, drama, fencing, robotics, and more, taught in the stimulating environment of KSC, were excellent learning opportunities for our students.

As part of the Summer Programme, our Senior School students were also fortunate enough to be shown around Cambridge by native English teachers and to attend a university application guidance session at the University of Cambridge, hosted by a university admissions professor, which gave them many valuable insights into the application process. Furthermore, KSC teachers also gave them useful tips on how to write a Personal Statement and on which things to be mindful of while preparing their applications. 

A Cultural and Colourful Summer Trip

 SUMMER PROGRAMME

At the start of the Programme, the teachers of King's Canterbury took the students on a tour of the UK campus, to teach them about the long history of our sister school and how it has changed over the centuries, and to allow them to feel its peacefulness and tranquillity. 

Our students were also shown around Canterbury, a city infused with culture and history. With knowledgeable professionals as their guides, their understanding of the city and what makes it so special expanded greatly. The students' ability to express themselves freely in English, and their curiosity and attention to detail made a deep impression on the teachers who were showing them around.

During their trip to London, our students experienced the modern and ancient charms of Great Britain's capital city, and saw the magnificent Big Ben and Tower Bridge. Walking the streets of London opened their eyes to the density of culturally and historically significant sites in that city, and to the diversity of British culture and values. 

Additionally, our students had the chance to visit the Harry Potter Studios. Enchanting lighting and mystical music made it seem as if they had travelled through time and space and entered into a world of sorcery. At every step of the way, they found themselves in one magical scene or another, marvelling at the skill and the artistry of the cinematographers who brought the world of Harry Potter to life.

The final highlight of the Studios was the large model of Hogwarts Castle, which greatly impressed the students and transported them once more to the wonderful world of fantasy.
