在MIS,师生比为1比3,外籍老师授课课时占比70%。很多家长都在好奇,为何MIS中方老师上课的课程及时长相比于传统外籍人员子女学校更多?

In August, following the announcement of a foreign headmaster, the Montpellier International School (MIS) in Chengdu brings more good news with the introduction of their full teaching staff!

Selecting a good teacher involves developing their physique, cultivating their character, nurturing their interests, and shaping their spirit, which will benefit them throughout their lives. In light of this, MIS has established seven criteria for the selection process.

  Passion for students and education  

A love for students and the education profession is one of the most important qualities for teachers. It is the key factor in motivating and guiding students' growth, and it is the primary principle for selecting teachers at MIS. This means that teachers have a sense of mission and responsibility for the quality of teaching, care for and respect every student, have a passion for the growth and development of students, and continuously strive for improved educational quality and innovative methods to ensure that students receive the best learning experience and outcomes.

Both Chinese and foreign teachers possess bilingual or multilingual abilities, enabling them to effectively teach international students and understand their cultural backgrounds and ways of thinking. Chinese and foreign teachers generally bring different educational philosophies and teaching methods. Special features of MIS

Rooted in China, while embracing the world



In MIS, the student-teacher ratio is 1:3, with foreign teachers accounting for 70% of teaching hours. Many parents are curious why Chinese teachers at MIS have more courses and longer class hours compared to traditional schools for foreign nationals. 

First, the nature of the school determines the educational philosophy. MIS is the first international school for children of foreign nationals in Southwest China, founded by Chinese overseas education experts with over 20 years of successful experience. This determines that MIS attracts students from both domestic and international backgrounds, and the teaching content and methods need to be rooted in China while embracing the world, to cultivate global citizens and future leaders with global competence and lifelong learning skills. 

Second, the educational goals determine the composition of the teaching staff. For example, in the process of selecting a foreign music teacher, MIS received nearly a hundred resumes worldwide. Ten candidates were selected for multiple rounds of interviews and background checks, comprehensively assessing their overall qualities, alignment with MIS's teaching philosophy, and compatibility with the students. Finally, the selection was made. 

Finally, the entire teaching team of MIS has come together. They come from more than 20 prestigious universities in various countries around the world, holding degrees ranging from Ph.D., and master's, to bachelor's in fields such as language, science, arts, humanities, and more.
