On December 22, Cogdel School Chengdu welcomed its annual event - the New Year's Concert, which is not only a musical performance, but also a feast of cross-culture exchange. Unlike any previous one, this year's New Year's Concert brought together music, dance drama and other diverse art forms, becoming a model of cultural collision and integration.With more than a thousand people to participate, this grand event has bridged the interaction among the family, the school and the community.
In the show, Mr. Jiang Zhimin, the leading artist and godfather of the Chengdu music community, have been joined by Mr. Yang Fei, a famous musician in Chengdu, Mr. Chen Ning, an influencial male singer in Chinese music community, Mr. Tan Raorao, an influencial musician and the founder and music director of Mug, Ms. Yang Quan, an famous singer, as well as Ms. Xiao Qiang, Mr. Peng Zhonghao, the new generation of music talents at this grand event. Not only did they add to the scence with their influence and talent, but also activated the vitality and harmony of the community culture with music.
Integration of diverse art forms
Dance is a dual enjoyment of vision and hearing. The children are elegant and light in their dance moves as if they have embeded their souls into the dance. Their movements, facial expressions and eyes are emotionally expressive, revealing their childlike innocence and vitality. Each child on the stage is like a ray of sunshine in winter, warming and brightening people's hearts.

Singing is the communication of the soul. The children used their voices to convey the emotions and stories in the songs to every listener. With their pure voices and emotionally expressive performances, the listeners were brought into a world of stories. Some songs let us feel we're basking in the spring breeze, as if we feel the first ray of sunshine in the new year, and however, some other songs evoked the warmest memories at the bottom of everyone's heart as whispers can do.

Explore the musical instruments
Instrumental performances are in sympathy with emotions. Regardless of the form of performance, the children demonstrated their musical skills and expresssiveness to the fullest. The ensemble and reprise displayed the unspoken collaboration to the fullest degree, too. The instruments in their hands are like spokespersons of the soul, expressing the most sincere emotions through notes and melodies. Beautiful melodies, like bridges of cross-cultural communication, connect everyone in the audience inside and outside the hall closely.

Experience the charm of dramas
Dramas are essentially stories. Cogdel School Chengdu integrated education and art in a diverse manner. At the concert, an interesting drama presented a warm and happy Christmas story to the audience, and the students showed the charm of theatrical art with their vivid performances.

One of the highlights of the concert was the performance of the well-known musicians, talented teachers, and parents, who sang songs, such as "Xue Rong Hua", "Lake Baikal", "The Moon Represents My Heart", "The Blue Lotus", "The war is Over", "Wukong", "Silent Night", etc. Not only was it a beautiful example of family-school collaboration, but also pushed the artistic atmosphere of the concert to a new height.
Mr. Jiang Zhimin's infectious voice, Mr. Yang Fei's superb guitar playing, Mr. Chen Ning's tender singing, Mr. Tan Raorao'and Ms Yang Quan's versatile stage performance, and Ms. Xiao Qiang and Mr. Peng Zhonghao's clear and warming singing style, together wove a stunning musical experience.

As the final melody slowly descended in the great hall, the New Year's Concert of Cogdel School Chengdu came to an end in the warm applause. This concert was not only a display of art, but also a heritage of spirit, a bridge that connected tradition and modernity, east and west, school and community.
Cogdel School Chengdu has upheld the holistic education which centers on people and integrates the Chinese and western cultures. Our school has made art one of our special programs to meet the diversified needs of students’ growth. Our school also cultivates and develops the students’ artistic talents and provides a rich platform for the students to demonstrate their abilities through various activities. Through this cross-cultural feast, Cogdel School Chengdu once again proved that art has no boundaries, and education has no limits. Every chord and every note at the concert were the declarations of confidence and dreams of Cogdel students. The school not only shapes the future artists, but also cultivates the world citizens who can communicate across cultures and lead the trend of the times.
We will work together to push foward the founding and development of the Art Center of Cogdel School Chengdu in the future. We also firmly believe that “Cogdel School Chengdu” will be like the beautiful melody of this evening, spreading in everyone's heart, stirring in every corner of the community. We look forward to more innovations and surprises next year, and look forward to every child flying and achieving their infinite possibilities in such a rich and colorful educational environment.
