A Fusion of Tradition and Vitality

The MIS campus resounded with the exhilarating beat of drums as two majestic lion dancers paraded through the school grounds, symbolizing the energy and a good start of the new semester. The lion dance not only demonstrated our respect and inheritance of Chinese traditional culture but also ignited the students' anticipation and enthusiasm for the new semester.

The Power to Inspire

Following the lively lion dance, Dr. Rath, the Academic Principal, delivered his address. He began by extending New Year greetings to all students, faculty, and parents, wishing everyone a fruitful year ahead. He emphasized the ten IB Learner objectives, encouraging students to embrace the new semester with the strength and courage of lions, striving for progress and becoming well-rounded individuals. He also expressed his gratitude to the entire school community for their support, infusing the MIS community with positive energy.

A Journey of Wisdom and Rewards

Students then participated in the "Assignment Checkpoint" session. For each subject completed, students received a small gift, and their assignment checkpoint cards could be exchanged for house points, which in turn could be redeemed for desired learning materials. This segment not only assessed students' academic achievements but also motivated them to work harder in the new semester.

A Bridge for Collaborative Education

To further strengthen the partnership between home and school, MIS held separate parent-teacher meetings for the Primary and Secondary divs. Teachers provided detailed introductions to the curriculum, teaching objectives, and assessment methods for the new semester. They highlighted plans for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary projects and shared updates on club courses, specialized reading programs, talent time, and student activities. 

In the new semester, the school will place greater emphasis on students' autonomy in learning, integrating academics with enriching activities and skill development. Students will be encouraged to break disciplinary boundaries, collaborate, innovate, and solve real-world problems through inquiry-based learning. Additionally, by sharing educational philosophies and practices, teachers and parents discussed how to better support children's growth and development.

 A Transmission of Warmth and Responsibility

On the same day, a silent charity auction was held. Learning materials, daily necessities, and decorative items prepared by teachers and students were auctioned off with a starting bid of 10 yuan and a cap of 200 yuan. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to support the studies and living expenses of underprivileged students at Xide Lianghekou Middle School in Huili City, Sichuan Province. This activity allowed students to experience the power of love and responsibility, encouraging them to pay attention to social issues and contribute actively to the community.

Capturing the Joy of the New Semester

With anticipation and hope for the new semester, the entire school community, including students, teachers, and parents, captured the joy of the opening day through group photos. These images not only recorded the happiness of the opening day but also carried everyone's expectations for the future.

A Perfect Blend of Learning and Relaxation

After the group photos, day students left school, while boarding students participated in dormitory life guidance learning and a movie night. This arrangement not only allowed students to feel the warmth of home at the start of the new semester but also helped them better adapt to school life.

We extend our sincerest thanks to all parents. It is your trust and support that enable MIS to continuously move forward, providing students with a learning environment filled with care and challenges. Whether it is the preparations before the opening of school, active participation in daily learning, or generous contributions during the silent charity auction, your efforts are the fount of inspiration.

We also thank the teachers for their meticulous preparations for the new semester. From cleaning the campus to academic enhancement meetings in various subject groups, and to campus safety assurance, every detail reflects everyone's hard work.

在热闹的舞狮后，学术校长Dr. Rath发表了致辞。他首先向全校师生和家长们表达新年的祝福，祝愿大家在新的一年里收获满满。他着重强调了IB课程体系中的十大培养者目标，鼓励学生们在新学期中向着目标，如同狮子般强大、勇敢地迎接挑战，取得进步，成为全面发展的人。此外，他还特别感谢了全校师生和家长的支持，为MIS社区注入了满满的正能量。

智慧与奖励的奇妙旅程

随后，学生们迎来了“任务通关”环节。每完成一科寒假任务检查，学生们都会获得一份小礼品，而任务通关卡则可以兑换学院分，进而换取心仪的学习用品。这一环节不仅检验了学生们的学习成果，也激励他们在新学期中更加努力。

家校共育的桥梁

为进一步加强家校合作，MIS分别召开了小学部和中学部家长会。老师们详细介绍了新学期的课程安排、教学目标和评估方式，重点强调了新学期的超学科项目和跨学科项目计划，并分享了俱乐部课程、专项阅读计划、天赋时间及学生活动的优化与创新。

新学期，学校将更注重学生的学习自主权，将学术融入丰富活动和提升训练中，鼓励学生打破学科界限，在实践中学会协作与创新，通过探究式学习解决现实问题。此外，通过分享教育理念与实践，老师们与家长们共同探讨如何更好地支持孩子的成长与发展。

温暖与责任的传递

当天，我们还举行了一场无声爱心拍卖。师生们精心准备的学习用品、生活用品和装饰品等，以10元起拍、200元封顶的方式进行竞拍。拍卖所得善款将全部用于帮助四川省会理市喜德两河口中学贫困学生的学习、生活。这一活动让学生们感受爱与责任的力量，鼓励学生关注社会问题，积极为社区贡献力量。

走读生们在合影留念后离校，住宿生们则在晚上参加了宿舍生活手册学习及电影之夜。这一安排不仅让学生们在新学期伊始就感受到家的温暖，也帮助他们更好地适应校园生活。
