亲爱的康礼家人们,新学期伊始,我们激动地宣布:我校ECC项目(Extra-Curricular Course,课外课程)正式开启!经过上学期的精心筹备,学校和老师们根据学生兴趣与需求,在STEM研究、青年企业家计划、人文艺术深度探索及AI四大领域开发了丰富课程。通过反复打磨课程体系与教学方案,学生们在开学第一周便快速投入学习,在导师带领下开启创意与挑战并存的探索之旅。
我们的STEM课程为学生们带来了一场科学与工程的盛宴。低年级的同学们参与了超酷的“意大利面建桥挑战”,用意大利面搭建桥梁,不仅考验了他们的动手能力,更激发了他们对工程学的兴趣。而高年级的同学们则挑战了更高难度的任务——设计并制作属于自己的“鲁布·戈德堡机械”。这些复杂的装置充满了连锁反应,每一步都充满了惊喜与创意。活动中,学生们不仅得到了丰富的材料支持,还有老师们的悉心指导,课堂氛围在音乐的伴随中更让人沉浸在轻松愉快中每个小组从草图开始,一步步将创意变为现实,有些小组的想法甚至让老师们惊叹不已!STEM课程不仅培养了学生们的动手能力,更激发了他们的创造力与团队合作精神。
在青年企业家计划中,学生们通过头脑风暴探讨了创业的核心品质,如坚持与创新。他们不仅学习了像马云这样的成功企业家的故事,还通过“机会探寻”环节,在校园内寻找未被满足的需求,锻炼了发现商业机会的能力。接着,学生们将创意转化为具体的产品设计,并通过路演展示了自己的想法,培养了沟通能力。课程的最后,学生们通过反思讨论,将创业理念与现实生活联系起来。学习创业不仅鼓励创新与解决问题的能力,还培养了学生们的韧性,这些都是在未来商业与生活中取得成功的关键技能。

Dear Cogdel Family, with the start of the new semester, we are excited to announce the official launch of Cogdel School Chengdu’s ECC Program (Extra-Curricular Course)! After thorough preparation last semester, our teachers developed a diverse range of courses in four major fields—STEM research, the Young Entrepreneurs Program, in-depth humanities and arts exploration, and AI—based on students’ interests and needs. Through refining the curriculum and optimizing teaching plans, students were able to dive into their chosen courses right from the first week of school, embarking on a creative and challenging learning journey under the guidance of their mentors.
Now, let’s step into the classrooms and take a look at these exciting moments!
Explorer wonderful collision
This week, our STEM course led students to an impressive adventure of science and engineering. Younger students participated in the super cool "Spaghetti Bridge Challenge," building bridges out of spaghetti, which tested their hands-on skills and sparked their interest in engineering. Meanwhile, older students undertook a more challenging task—designing and building their own Rube Goldberg machines. These intricate devices, full of chain reactions, were packed with surprises and creativity. During the activities, students were provided with abundant materials and guided by teachers in a relaxed and enjoyable classroom atmosphere, accompanied by immersive background music. Each team started with sketches and gradually turned their ideas into reality, with some groups even astonishing their teachers with their creativity! This STEM course not only enhanced students' practical skills but also ignited their creativity and teamwork spirit.
Young Entrepreneur Program
In the Young Entrepreneurs Program, students brainstormed entrepreneurial qualities such as perseverance and innovation. They learned about successful entrepreneurs like Jack Ma and, through the "Opportunity Hunt" activity, explored the school to identify unmet needs, honing their ability to spot business opportunities. Next, students transformed their creative ideas into tangible product designs and pitched their concepts, developing their communication skills. The lesson concluded with a reflective discussion, helping students connect entrepreneurial concepts to real-life applications. Learning entrepreneurship encourages innovation and problem-solving, and builds resilience—essential skills for success in business and daily life

In the AI course, students delved into the inner workings of computers by disassembling and reassembling computer hardware. They identified key components such as the motherboard, CPU, and RAM, and learned about the functions and interrelationships of each part. Through hands-on practice, students mastered safely disassembling and assembling computers while enhancing their critical thinking and collaboration abilities in team settings. This course not only deepened students' understanding of technology but also laid a solid foundation for their future explorations in the field.

The Charm of Silent

In the humanities and arts course, students analyzed classic silent films and collaborated in groups to create and perform their silent skits. They learned how to express emotions through body language and visual storytelling, developing communication skills that do not rely on dialogue. Additionally, students learned how to take stunning photos with their smartphones, mastering techniques such as adjusting white balance, exposure, and using filters. Mr. Haowen also guided students in appreciating artworks, helping them understand that behind each piece of art lies the creator's story as viewers, we have unique ways of interpreting them. Students enhanced their artistic literacy and learned to observe and express the world from different perspectives.

The core philosophy of the ECC Program is to inspire students' learning interests and creativity through diverse extracurricular activities. Whether hands-on STEM projects, entrepreneurial simulations in the Young Entrepreneurs Program,or in-depth explorations of AI and humanities, each course is designed to cultivate students' comprehensive abilities, helping them excel in their future studies and lives.
