MIS is a community of exploration and openness, using open teaching methods and prioritizing the development of students' abilities. With the IB mindset, MIS students are knowledgeable and well-versed in communication and self-reflection, placing importance on their character development along with their academic pursuits. They approach learning with curiosity and a spirit of inquiry, following social etiquette and possessing the ability to collaborate with others. MIS students maintain individualized development in their learning processes, exploring the essence of things, reasoning, and substantiating arguments, and deepening their knowledge through various forms of discovery, investigation, and research methods. They apply their academic knowledge to practical situations; MIS students' learning process is a self-exploration and self-actualization process.

Principal Speech by Dr. Rath

Today, I would like to talk with you about a simple yet incredibly powerful act—smiling. Smiling is the warmest language in our lives. We smile when we receive awards, and we smile when we feel happy. It can express approval, joy, and many other positive emotions. It also helps us feel connected to others, conveying trust, a sense of belonging, and empathy.

Scientists have discovered that smiling has magical power. It can help us live longer and reduce stress. For example, a smile can ease anxiety during a tense moment before an exam. When you feel sad, smiling can lift your mood. What's more, smiling is contagious, just like a cold. It can spread among people, but it only brings goodness. Smiling can even lower blood pressure, boost the immune system, help us fight off diseases, and relieve pain, such as headaches or footaches.

Moreover, smiling not only makes you more charming but also helps you make friends and even succeed in business activities. It shows others your friendliness and success, which aligns with the IB learner profile attribute of being a communicator. In daily interactions, smiling is a silent way of communication that sends positive signals, making it easier for you to connect with others. Whether you are working with classmates or sharing ideas with teachers, smiling can be an important tool to express your friendliness and openness.

IB-PYP Assembly:

A Platform for Students to Shine

Date: June 5

On Thursday's PYP assembly, students from Grades 3 and 4 in the dance classroom ignited the enthusiasm of the audience with a spectacular tap dance performance. As their tap shoes rhythmically struck the floor, the powerful beat seemed to narrate the unique charm of tap dance. The students not only captivated the audience with their dance moves but also provided an in-depth introduction to the historical origins and developmental trajectory of tap dance through a well-prepared group presentation. Using posters, PowerPoint slides, and other visual aids, they vividly presented the rich cultural background behind this art form, from the coordination of dance shoes and costumes to the characteristics of different tap dance styles and the fascinating journey of cultural integration. On stage, the students confidently displayed their posters, skillfully operated the PPT, and clearly explained various aspects of tap dance. They actively interacted with the audience, enthusiastically inviting them to participate and experience the charm of tap dance firsthand.

Meanwhile, two groups from Grade 5 showcased their latest progress in their exhibition projects. The Mineral Group, acting as young geologists, presented a wealth of knowledge about minerals and displayed precious samples. They explained the formation processes, types, and extensive applications of minerals in everyday life in an easy-to-understand manner, making complex geological knowledge both lively and interesting. The Black Hole Group, on the other hand, creatively and interactively introduced the mysterious concepts of black holes and singularities, as well as the principles and theoretical development of black holes. Through engaging game segments, they helped the audience understand the principle of black holes absorbing dark matter in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, sparking everyone's interest in exploring the mysteries of the universe. The audience was highly engaged and participated actively throughout the session.
