在新加坡南洋华侨中学开启它的第二个百年之时，其在华唯一校群成员——广州新侨学校正式起航！在社会各界的关怀支持下，学校的各项筹备工作有序稳步推进，计划于2021年秋季开学。

Dear friends,

SingChin Academy, an affiliate to Hwa Chong Family of Schools, is officially launched following years of preparation! The initial progress has been made steadily in good order with enthusiastic care and strong support from all sectors of society. We are happy to announce that SingChin Academy will be ready to embrace its very first group of students in the fall of 2021.

Yuan Ba, our Managing Director, holds the belief that the most telling distinction of a good school lies in its reflection on the making of people. SingChin Academy teams have been galvanized to provide the best version of answers down to the littlest details of its operations.

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. We aspire that our children shall be awakened and empowered to develop into conscious lifelong learners and confront the uncertainties of the future with adequate readiness in the form of knowledge and skills. The educational philosophy and mission of SingChin Academy are manifested in its commitment to empowerment. 

For us to accomplish that mission, we have to ask the questions of how. How to nurture generalists and cultivate specialists? How to maximize the core strengths of IB? How to achieve academic excellence and improve holistic capabilities?

In exploration of these answers, SingChin Academy will hold its first offline session of SCA TALKS on December 12^nd, the 8^th floor at Chow Tai Fook Financial Centre in Zhujiang New Town.  

David Ng, the Education Superintendent, and Yuan Ba, the Managing Director, will share with you their insights into the significance and practice of empowerment for the first time.
