For our first English topic we have been looking at recounts. Recounts are a form of text that retells an event or an experience. It is often based on the child’s experience and the purpose is to tell the reader what has happened from their own point of view. Recounts can be personal, factual or imaginative. When writing their recounts, the children had to think of several key features such as, Who?, Where?, What? When?
本学期一年级英语课堂上,孩子们学习的第一个文学创作方式是“叙述”。“叙述”是指以文字形式复述一个事件或一段经历。孩子们以自身经历为基础,从他们的角度向读者叙述事件的前因后果。叙述类型可以是个人的亲身经历、事实或想象。在进行叙述写作时,孩子们需考虑几个关键点,如:人物、地点、事件、时间,并根据时间顺序描述事情的经过。
And ensure their information was in chronological order. To start the topic, we looked at several different books such as, Diary of a Wombat, Charlie the Firefighter and Stan and Goldie. The children then retold these stories to a partner and an adult.
为了更好地开展这个主题,我们和孩子们一起阅读了不同类型的书籍,如《袋熊日记》、《消防员查理》和《格鲁法洛》。在完成阅读后,他们会分别向一位组员和一位成年人以各自的方式叙述这些故事。

When the children had written their sentences, they had to read them aloud to ensure they made sense. This proved to be a tricky task, but over the course of a few weeks the children’s confidence increased and they were able to edit their sentences with little adult support.
Once they checked their work with an adult, they wrote their recounts neatly in their English books.
老师完成批改后,孩子们会把语句整合为完整的叙述内容,并工整地写在英语作业本上。
After writing several recounts on familiar books, the children retold their own experiences of their Summer and their weekends.
The children wrote some fantastic recounts of stories and their own experiences. They should be very proud of the work they have produced. We are very happy with them!
