What is U2NESCO? What is the significance of holding MUN events? Let's listen to the views of the economics teacher，Benard Opanga.

什么是誉德莱教科文组织模拟联合国会议？举办MUN活动的意义是什么，让我们来听听经济学老师Benard Opanga的看法

U2NESCO stands for Utahloy United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization. U2NESCO conferences emulates the UN operations in line with the SDG's which act as benchmarks for addressing different problems and challenges facing humanity and planet earth. It is through the U2NESCO events that students from diverse backgrounds at both middle and high school get a chance to represent different countries as delegates. During the conference, the delegates collaborate, cooperate, write resolutions, engage in debates and voting in line with the UN protocols thus improving their public speaking skills and confidence in line with long-life learning, education for sustainable development and University applications. Lastly this is a chance given to students to practice their leadership skills in diverse contexts thus becoming leadership of today for a better tomorrow in making timely informed decisions.  

U2NESCO代表誉德莱教科文组织模拟联合国会议。U2NESCO 会议是以模拟联合国会议的运作方式来进行，解决人类和地球面临的不同问题和挑战以可持续发展目标为基准，而该会议与该可持续发展目标相一致。正是通过这个 U2NESCO 活动，来自不同背景的初中和高中学生有机会作为代表代表不同的国家。在会议期间，代表们根据联合国协议进行协作、合作、撰写决议、参与辩论和投票，从而提高他们的公开演讲技巧和信心，以适应终身学习、可持续发展教育和大学申请。最后，这也是一个让学生在不同的环境中练习他们的领导技能有机会，从而让他们成为今天的领导者，为更美好的明天在正确的时机作出明智的决定。

‘’I am always scared about presentations and asking questions. I think I need to ask more questions if I don’t understand. Then I can understand the things and I need to practice the critical thinking, this is really important, like fixing the resolution and thinking some questions.’’

‘’MUN is very formal. It is like the UN but for kids which is like a practice dispute activity for students’’.

‘’Socializing isn’t as scary as it seems like, making new friends introduces you to a whole other perspective to see the world’’

‘’Try your best on new things and collaboration is important for learning’’ “在新事物上尽力而为，合作对学习很重要” 

‘’Making mistakes is not a bad thing’’ “犯错不是坏事” 

‘’Through writing and reviewing the resolutions/amendments of myself and others, I had enhanced my critical thinking skills and is able to review and reflect on works better than before. Through writing my resolution, as well as seeing the amendments submitted to other resolutions, I learned to be more precise and exact in my writing, and prevent redundant information’’ 

“通过撰写和审查自己和他人的决议/修正案，我提高了批判性思维能力，能够比以前更好地审查和反思作品。通过写我的决议，以及看到提交给其他决议的修正案，我学会了在我的写作中如何提高正确度和精确度，并防止出现冗余信息'' 

‘’The important lesson I learned from this MUN is that I must be more active in academic activity. It will lower my pride as a learner and also make me have no worthwhile contribution to the activity’
