Next week marks the first week of our Week Without Walls camps series with the years 3 and 4 going on an overnight trip. Needless to say, our students and teachers are quite excited at the idea of spending a few days away from school. We wish them to have a wonderful and memorable trip.

下周是我们“无墙周”夏令营系列的第一周，3 年级和 4 年级学生将进行过夜旅行。毫无疑问，我们的学生和老师对离开学校进行几天的校外出游的想法感到非常兴奋。我们希望他们有一个美好而难忘的旅行。

Our year 10 and 12 students just went through a long week of mock exams, aiming at preparing them to the “real” exam session in May. Since Covid however, the IB has become even stricter on the year 12 predicted grades, consequently adding more weight to the mock exams.

INTRO 简介

This Wednesday morning Secondary held their first assembly in the Theatre after returning from the CNY holiday. Students who have studied and contributed well were awarded with certificates. And staff who organised the CNY event before the holiday were also honoured for their efforts. After the awards the Head of Secondary Mr Mohammed announced an exciting new competition for students to design the interior spaces of the new school building. If a lucky student's design is selected they will have their name and design drawing placed up in the room of the new building to recognise their design inspiration for that space. A great honour indeed!

After reading “The Three Little Pigs”, K2 students decided to build their own houses. They used different materials like popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners and foam blocks to build strong houses that could withstand a wolf. They then tested their houses using a hairdryer to mimic a wolf’s ‘huff and puff’. Students then reflected and self-assessed their creations.

读完《三只小猪》后，K2 的学生决定自己盖房子。他们使用不同的材料，如冰棒棍、管道清洁剂管和泡沫块来建造可以抵御狼的坚固房屋。然后，他们使用吹风机测试了他们的房子，以模仿狼的“呼呼”。然后学生们反思并自我评估他们的创作。

Our Year 2 student are currently learning about Food production. We had a amazing field trip last Friday morning. We visited a local farm to see how food is cultivated, and a local wet market to see where and how is the food distributed.

The same afternoon, Chef Mr Alvarado reached us to make some Italian noodles(pasta) .That was really funny. We enjoyed very much!

Y9 Science students acquired the most fundamental and important understanding about the interplay between force and motion. They learnt several aspects of gravity, magnetism and friction. Students explored gravity by building their own roller coaster. Escaping the Stockroom game helped students understand the idea of the magnet and the concept of magnetism. They also identified the present and the role of forces in movie scenes. Students have concentrated on developing skills to read and Interpret data presented on a graph.

Y9 理科学生获得了关于力和运动之间相互作用的最基本和最重要的理解。他们学习了重力、磁力和摩擦力的几个方面。学生们通过建造自己的过山车来探索重力。逃离储藏室游戏帮助学生理解磁铁的概念和磁力的概念。他们还确定了电影场景中力量的现状和作用。学生们专注于培养阅读和解释图表数据的技能。

The Middle School Volleyball season is just getting started and we are already off to a great start. We played in our opening PRC Exchange this past weekend at NCPA. The girls played 2nd and the boys placed 4th going into the season. We have high expectations for this coming season and are looking forward to bringing home medals at the end of the season.

中学排球赛季才刚刚开始，我们已经有了一个良好的开端。上周末，我们进行了珠江联赛的比赛。进入本赛季，女孩们排名第 2，男孩们排名第 4。我们对即将到来的赛季寄予厚望，并期待在赛季结束时将奖牌带回家。
