IBPYP is an engaging and challenging programme.  The IB's mission is central to its work with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education. 


IBPYP是一个充满吸引力和挑战性的项目。国际文凭(IB)的使命是其与学校、政府和国际组织合作的核心,以发展具有挑战性的国际教育项目。




In this article, we are going to explain how our specialist activities and whole-year events with a focus on P.E, Art, STEM, Cantonese and Music, as well as Library (Literacy Development) and how they complement our Unit of Inquiry (UOI) led by the Chinese and English classroom teachers.


Specialist activities at BKIK are not subject-based learning, but rather integrated learning that connects through the six transdisciplinary themes as well as real-life experiences. A detailed explanation of how this will be implemented will be stated below.


Here is the curriculum of the K3 classes as an example for reference.


我们希望通过这篇文章来和大家分享天启幼儿园的课程框架、专科活动及全年活动是如何与以中文和英文班级老师为主导的探究单元(UOI)相辅相成。


BKIK的专科活动不是基于单学科的学习,而是与跨学科主题和现实生活经验相联系的综合学习。我们将通过实际的例子来解释我们如何实施的。


在此以大班的课程结构为例,以供参考。






BKIK follows the EDB's guidelines and offers 2 hours of physical activities time per day for students to engage in various forms of exercise, movement and expression.


我们遵循教育局的指导方针,每天为学生提供2小时的户外活动时间,让他们参与各种形式的运动。



We believe that physical education is an essential part of the holistic development of young learners. Mr. Daobao, BKIK's full-time P.E. specialist, develops and designs age-appropriate and fun activities for children to enhance their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well-being. 


我们相信体育是学生整体发展的重要组成部分。因此我们请体育老师大宝设计适合各个年龄段的趣味运动,以提高他们的身体、社交、情感和认知能力。

In addition, BKIK promotes athletics because we have a strong belief that the nature of sports and its inherent collaborative spirit can profoundly influence others. Our students will persistently strive for excellence, continuously explore their identities, set ambitious goals, and ultimately develop a sense of inner strength.


我们重视体育活动,因为我们坚信体育精神能够深刻地影响他人。通过体育活动,我们的学生能够坚持不懈地追求卓越,不断探索自我,树立远大的目标,以激发其内在的力量。





As a school, we value the importance of arts and crafts in the development of young learners. This is why BKIK hired a full-time Art specialist who can help students express their thoughts and develop their creativity through various artistic mediums and techniques.


我们十分重视如何帮助学生通过使用各种艺术媒介和技巧来表达自己的想法和创造力。



We believe that art can enhance students' visual, spatial, and aesthetic awareness, as well as their communication, collaboration, and self-management skills in small group activities.


Our art program aims to foster a love of artistic creativity among students and to encourage them to present their ideas and feelings in a visual way.


我们相信通过不同的材料选择和一些手工活动可以增强学生的视觉、空间能力发展和审美意识,在一些需要合作完成的项目过程中训练他们的沟通、合作和自我管理能力。


汇悦天启幼儿园的艺术课程旨在培养及鼓励学生以视觉的方式来表达他们的想法和感情。





 At BKIK, we combine Music and Cantonese into our curriculum to provide students with a fun and engaging way to learn the local language and culture.


音乐课程将音乐和粤语结合起来,为学生提供了一种有趣且引人入胜的方式来学习本地的语言和文化。




We believe that music can enhance students' listening, and speaking skills in Cantonese, as well as develop their musical, rhythmic, and creative abilities.


We expose students to a variety of musical genres and styles in Cantonese, such as folk songs, nursery rhymes, pop songs, and opera. We also help students explore the history and traditions of the Lingnan area as well as China through music and lyrics.


我们相信音乐可以提升学生在粤语听力和口语方面的能力,以及其音乐感、节奏感和创造力。


我们让学生接触各种风格的粤语音乐,如民歌、童谣、流行歌曲和戏曲,通过音乐和歌曲来帮助学生探索岭南地区及中国的历史和传统。

We aim to foster a love of music and Cantonese among students and to enrich their cultural awareness and appreciation.


我们的目标是通过有关的活动来丰富他们的文化意识和音乐欣赏的能力。





Problem-solving and higher mental function skills, such as analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and creativity.


发展学生由最基本的思维层次,如知识的获取(Knowledge)、理解(Comprehension)、渐进到较高层次如应用(Application)、分析(Analysis)、综合(Synthesis)、评鉴(Evaluation)等。



We have introduced STEM into our BKIK curriculum in order to provide students with a challenging and stimulating way to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We believe that STEM can enhance students' problem-solving and higher mental function skills, such as analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and creativity. 


为了让学生能够以有挑战性和刺激性的方式探索科学、技术、工程和数学,我们建立了校本的STEM活动。我们相信STEM活动可以发展学生由最基本的思维层次,如知识的获取(Knowledge)、理解(Comprehension)、渐进到较高层次如应用(Application)、分析(Analysis)、综合(Synthesis)、评鉴(Evaluation)等。



We engage students in various STEM activities that require them to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world situations and challenges. We also help students develop their inquiry, communication, collaboration, and self-management skills through working with others in STEM projects.


我们通过各种STEM活动让学生参与其中,带领他们将自己的知识和技能应用于现实世界的情境和挑战中。在STEM活动中,通过互相合作,学生得以发展他们的探究、沟通、协作和自我管理能力。



In the STEM classroom, we encourage students to cultivate scientific thinking and problem-solving skills through experimentation and exploration, aiming to ignite their curiosity. This emphasis on inquiry aligns with the principles of IB. STEM learning helps students gain a deeper understanding of how the world operates.


在STEM课堂上,我们鼓励学生们在实验和探索中培养科学思维和解决问题的能力,希望以此激发学生的求知欲望,这也是IB教育中强调的探究精神。STEM的学习有助于学生更深入地了解世界的运作方式。




To enrich knowledge and imagination to enable our students to become lifelong learners.


丰富知识和想象力,成为终身学习者。



We enhanced our library program by adding an English Library component to the existing Chinese sign-out procedure. Students now borrow one Chinese book as well as one English book from the school library to take home once a week (starting in October).


我们在原有中文图书馆活动的基础上增加了英文图书馆活动,从而加强了图书馆计划。从十月份开始,学生每周可以从图书馆借阅一本中文书和一本英文书。



In addition, we will also be providing an English Reading Program. The Pre-K and K1 levels focus on English picture book reading, where children listen to stories in English to improve their listening skills as well as build foundational vocabulary.


In the K2 and K3 levels, the focus is on Reading A-Z English reading books, where the English teachers work with the children to help improve their spelling and word recognition abilities, not to mention develop listening and comprehension skills to understand the meaning behind what they are reading.  A variety of different reading styles are used to further strengthen students' English skills and interests.


此外,我们今学年开始增加英文图书馆计划,幼小班的小朋友以英文绘本阅读为主,小朋友在图画书中聆听英文故事,提高英文听力。


中大班的小朋友以Raz分级阅读为主,英文老师结合小朋友的实际情况与小朋友进行分级英文阅读,提高小朋友的拼读技能和阅读聆听能力。通过不同的阅读方式,以进一步加强学生的英语技能和兴趣。

We also help parents and students to engage in various reading activities, such as role play (reenactment), story-telling, book-sharing, and international book day activities.


We aim to foster a love of reading and learning among students and to enrich their knowledge and imagination to enable our students to become lifelong learners.


除此之外,我们鼓励家长和孩子一起参与各种阅读活动,如角色扮演、讲故事、图书分享和国际读书日活动。


我们的目标是培养学生对阅读和学习的热爱,以丰富他们的知识和想象力,让他们成为终身学习者。






Through these activities, students also develop their language skills in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, as they communicate, collaborate, and express themselves in different contexts and cultures.


BKIK is unique in preparing students to think and act across different cultures and to become global citizens.


通过这些活动,学生也在不同的语境和文化中进行交流、合作和表达,发展英语、普通话和粤语等语言技能。


专科课程为学生提供了多元化的学习机会,培养学生成为全面发展的、有创造力和拥有全球视野的世界公民。



We have intentionally designed to have our specialist teachers extend the classroom learning experience because we are fully aware that the transdisciplinary learning experience can help face the challenges of content losing its depth when we go in a broad direction.
