It has been an honour for me to serve as STUCO's President over the last academic year. We worked cohesively as a team, despite issues such as lockdown and manpower shortages, to plan events and deliver suggestions to school leadership to the very best of our ability. As I step down, I thank my fellow STUCO members, especially the Executive Council, and our supervisors Ms Yoke Lin and Ms Emy, along with the rest of the school community, for all their help and support delivered. Without them, I would not have been able to do anything; I am therefore enormously grateful for their assistance. Best wishes to the current Student Council!

        As the president of the student council , I am committed to bringing about a series of changes  for the benefit of both students and the school, with the aim of enhancing the quality of students' learning experience and campus life. Here are some of the goals and changes I hope to achieve:

Greater Student Voice:

- Establish an online platform where students can propose suggestions and opinions and vote on important matters.

- Organize regular student forums to facilitate communication and collaboration among students, faculty, and administration.

Improving the Learning Environment:

- Advocate for a green campus initiative to promote sustainability, including waste recycling, energy-saving measures, and tree-planting activities.

- Develop policies to ensure the proper maintenance and updating of classroom facilities and library resources.


Academic Support and Development:

- Launch academic tutoring programs to assist students in improving their academic performance, providing additional academic support resources.

- Host career development workshops and job fairs to help students plan their future career paths.


Social and Cultural Activities:

- Support student clubs and organizations, encouraging more social and cultural exchanges.

- Host various events such as concerts, art exhibitions, and sports competitions to enrich campus life.

Mental Health Support:

- Provide mental health services, including counseling and support groups, to help students cope with stress and mental health challenges.
- Advocate for policies to reduce academic workload and improve students' overall well-being.

Community Engagement:

- Encourage students to participate in community service and volunteer activities, fostering their civic awareness.
- Establish close ties between the campus and the surrounding community to promote collaborative projects.


Safety and Health:

- Develop campus safety policies to ensure the well-being of students and staff.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle by offering health services and facilities.

These goals and changes are aimed at creating a more inclusive, supportive, and enriching school environment where every student can thrive, receive a high-quality education, and enjoy a fulfilling and diverse campus life. Through the efforts of the student union, I hope to achieve these goals and bring about positive transformation for both students and the school.

My qualifications are manifolds. I speak both English and Chinese fluently and am a very good communicator; I have excellent leadership skills as a student house leader; I’m also a leader for Event-planning CAS.

I have been a student at AIC for 5 years, which means I have an in-depth understanding of what’s going on in the school. If I could be an member of the Student Council, together with Event-planning, I would help to make our school a better community, and create more activities. My previous experience here has prepared me to effectively represent our student body. I'm devoted to listening to your concerns and ideas and working collaboratively to address them.

My vision for the student council is to listen to everyone and make AIC better. I believe an effective STUCO will help all students in all different ways, With your support, I aim to create a more inclusive, energetic school environment together.   

I ask for your vote to help us achieve these goals together. Let's make our school a place of which we are all proud to be a part of. Thank you for considering me as your Vice President.

    My biggest strengths are my empathy and opened mindedness. I’ve studied in five different countries before, and am part of two different cultures, cause I’m half Indian. I’ve meet tons of people in these countries and have done a lot of new and weird things with them. No complaint is too trivial or too small, I will take it with upmost seriousness because I care about people, I care about you. Even if I end up not winning this election, and anyone of you have a problem you think you can’t tell your friends about, or I can help you with, come talk to me, and I will listen.  I will be an approachable president; someone you can talk to about anything. This also goes for any suggestions you want to tell me about. Trust me, no idea is too crazy, too unachievable for me. If you have a dream, tell me, let it become our dream, and together, we will make it into a reality.

Talking about crazy ideas, behind me are all things I did last year, and I’m hoping to try more stuff like that with you guys this year! Starting a free sanitary pad initiative, being part of a community kitchen and feeding local slums, these were student led initiatives. This is the type of mindset I can bring to AIC. If you elect me, know that I will work to change this school. We have so much talent and resources that we are not using, but I want that to change this year. A policy I am already thinking of are a time management system with teachers, so you guys get maximum one test and maybe two homework assignments a day, nothing more. I also think the school could benefit from more holistic learning, and that we could plan more interactive and fun activities outside of class. I am flexible and open to any other ideas or critiques. I will be working for you, not you for me, and I will be working to give you all the best school experience you can get.

In short, all my policies will be centered around students, helping you reach your full potential and getting access to new opportunities, as getting rid of any obstacles that lie in your way.
