从英国斐特思短期交流学习项目返回的同学们，迫不及待地将在兄弟校的见闻分享给老师和家长们。这段收获颇丰的学习生活之旅，将为他们打开一扇探索更多可能性的大门。

国庆长假期间，广州斐特思师生一行10人前往英国斐特思进行交流学习。同学们与来自全球十余个国家的学生一起上课、参加古奥林匹克运动会等活动，沉浸式体验纯正的英式寄宿和学习生活；在多个博物馆学习历史文化知识。这是一段跨学科学习、学术传承的研学、交流之旅。

The students who returned from the Fettes short-term exchange study program in the UK were eager to share their experiences with their teachers and parents. 

During the National Day holiday, ten students and teachers from Fettes College Guangzhou went to Fettes College, UK, for exchange and study. The students had classes with students from more than ten countries around the world, participated in a version of the ancient Olympic Games, and experienced the pure British boarding and learning life. They know the history and culture of many museums. This is a journey of interdisciplinary learning, research and exchange of academic inheritance.

同学们抵达英国斐特思后，立刻展开了忙碌的学习生活。他们按当地学生课表、作息，参加诗歌文化、小型音乐会、古奥林匹克运动会等活动；间或参观校园，学习户外生存技巧等。

Upon arriving at Fettes College, the students began a busy academic life. According to the local students' schedule, they participated in activities such as poetry culture, small concerts and a version of the Ancient Olympic Games. On campus they even learned some outdoor survival skills.

同学们在办学联络官Yvonne老师的带领下，数天才游览完校园的每处风景。学校的每一栋建筑都沉淀着岁月的痕迹，不少课室还保留着苏格兰传统文化经典元素。

在创校时便存在的图书馆里，孩子们回溯时光的变迁；在最古老的建筑顶端，他们俯瞰全校风光；遇见在当地工作20余年的教师，同学们向他请教历史问题。广州斐特思鼓励孩子们领略不同学府的学术氛围。这将有助于同学们更全面地了解教育的多样性，培养开放的思维和适应不同环境的能力。

Under the guidance of Ms. Yvonne Mitchell, the school liaison Officer, the students took a few days to explore every part of the campus. Every school building has traces of past times, and many classrooms still retain the classic elements of traditional Scottish and British culture. Children also explored the library, which has existed since the school's founding. From the top of the oldest building, they were able to overlook the school grounds. They met a teacher who had worked there for over 20 years, and students asked him about the history during his time. Fettes College Guangzhou encourages children to experience the academic atmosphere of different institutions, helping students gain a more comprehensive understanding of the diversity of education and develop an open mind to different environments.

恰逢希腊语学科老师们举办古奥林匹克运动会。在运动会上，教授希腊语的老师为孩子们讲解了古奥林匹克运动会的起源。随后前奥林匹克运动会参赛者Lizzie Goodman和同学们分享奥运会趣闻，并将孩子们分成9个小组进行比赛。同学们积极参与掷标枪、障碍跑、掷铁盘等项目，我校Olivia同学获得了女子跳远第二名的佳绩。如果说同学们在这场运动中深刻领会了古奥林匹克运动精神，那么活动结束后的希腊主题美食品尝，则让同学们对古希腊有了更立体、全面的认知。

The Greek teachers held an Ancient Olympic Games. At the games, the Greek teacher explained the origin of the Ancient Olympic Games to the children. A former Olympian, Lizzie Goodman, then shared an interesting story about the Games, and divided the children into nine teams to compete. The students participated in the javelin throw, steeplechase and discus throw. Olivia won second place in the women's long jump. The students now more deeply understand the ancient Olympic spirit because of this experience. and the day rounded off with a Greek food tasting that gave our students even more of a comprehensive understanding of ancient Greece.

孩子们跟随专业户外教练接受“丛林飞跃”挑战，练习平衡能力。此外，同学们还学习了如何用原始棉花和起火设备生火，为自己烤食物。这些宝贵的经验让同学们学会了如何应对野外环境中的挑战和困难，提升了孩子们的忍耐力和坚韧性，并帮助他们塑造不轻言放弃的品格。

Children practiced their balance by taking the low ropes with a professional outdoor instructor. In addition to this, the students learned how to start a fire with raw cotton and fire starter equipment, being able to make food for themselves over the open fire. These valuable experiences taught the students how to deal with challenges and difficulties in a wild environment, promoted the children's endurance and tenacity, and shaped their character, teaching them to not give up easily.

英国斐特思一年一度的校友聚会，群贤毕至，少长咸集。校方邀约了300余位毕业满五年、十年、十五年等年限的校友返校，他们均身着各地传统服饰隆重出席。斐特思校友圈是一个由5500名校友以及有着紧密联系的家长们组成的全球网络。同学们在这里认知校园之外的更大世界，认识各地有趣、不同文化的校友们。

Fettes College invited more than 300 alumni who graduated in years past to return to the College, where they were dressed in their traditional costumes from all over the world. Fettes College Alumni Circle is a global network of 5,500 alumni and close-knit parents. This gathering is where students learn about the larger world beyond campus and meet interesting and culturally diverse alumni from around the globe.
