AIC在上周五成功举办了一场跨学科合作展览，展览以艾米莉·狄金森（Emily Dickinson）的诗歌《Landscapes of Poetry - A Poetic Resonance of Selected Emily Dickinson's》为主题，并以传统中国国画的形式呈现。这是一项由DP1 English A与Visual Arts学生通力合作完成的项目。在这个令人印象深刻的展览中，我们看到了狄金森的诗歌通过中国国画的形式得到了生动而独特的演绎。这次跨学科的合作旨在挖掘狄金森诗歌背后的深层思想，以及这些思想如何在中国国画的艺术语境中得到表达。

AIC successfully hosted an interdisciplinary exhibition last Friday, centered around Emily Dickinson's poetry "Landscapes of Poetry - A Poetic Resonance of Selected Emily Dickinson's," presented in the form of traditional Chinese art. This project was a collaborative effort between DP1 English A and Visual Arts students. In this impressive exhibition, we witnessed Dickinson's poetry vividly and uniquely interpreted through the lens of Chinese painting. The interdisciplinary collaboration aimed to unearth the profound ideas behind Dickinson's poetry and how these ideas find expression in the artistic context of traditional Chinese painting.

这个作业对学生的挑战在于将两个截然不同的学科领域，即English A和Visual Arts，进行深度融合。首先，学生需要理解并解读艾米莉·狄金森（Emily Dickinson）的诗歌，挖掘其中的深层思想和主题。这对于学生的文学理解和分析能力提出了较高的要求。

其次，学生需要通过传统中国国画的形式将这些抽象而深刻的思想呈现出来。这需要他们具备一定的绘画技巧，理解中国国画的艺术元素，并能够将这些元素巧妙地融入到对狄金森诗歌的表达中。这对于学生的艺术创作和跨学科融合能力提出了挑战。

The challenge for students in this assignment was to deeply integrate two vastly different disciplines, English A and Visual Arts. Firstly, students needed to understand and interpret Emily Dickinson's poetry, delving into the profound thoughts and themes therein, demanding a high level of literary understanding and analytical skills.

Secondly, students had to present these abstract and profound ideas through the form of traditional Chinese painting. This required them to possess certain painting skills, understand the artistic elements of Chinese painting, and cleverly incorporate these elements into the expression of Dickinson's poetry. This posed a challenge to students' artistic creation and interdisciplinary integration abilities.

展览中，学生们通过梅花、荷花、竹子、树叶、山水画等元素表达了对狄金森诗歌的诠释。其中，DP1 Cindy的作品“Break”以诗歌“Hope”为基础，通过色彩的碰撞，展现了希望的到来，体现了对冷酷和绝望局面的期望。

DP1 Pianpian的作品“Spine”展示了一朵坚韧的梅花，其细腻的枝干为绽放的花朵提供了坚实的支撑。然而，这些枝干也穿过花朵，如同锋利的刺，暗示了自然的双重性 - 美与脆弱交织在一起。尽管梅花体积较小，却体现了坚定不移的活力。它经受了生活风雨，忍受了冬天的严寒，只为在春天到来时以更新的光彩绽放, 犹如人类的生命一样。。

另一方面，学生们通过绘画与狄金森的诗歌进行对话。DP1 Gabrielle的作品“The Banished Pair”以诗歌“I am nobody”为灵感，将画布一分为二，分别呈现了现代城市和古镇的场景。画中两个女孩坐在悬崖顶端，拥抱着，凝视着下方的世界，表达了在广阔而冷漠的世界中感到被遗弃和漠不关心的情感。

In the exhibition, students expressed their interpretation of Dickinson's poetry through elements such as plum blossoms, lotus flowers, bamboo, leaves, and landscape painting. DP1 Cindy's artwork "Break," based on the poem "Hope," used the collision of colors to depict the arrival of hope, embodying the artist's expectation to break through the cold and hopeless situation and welcome hope.

DP1 Pianpian's artwork "Spine" showcased a resilient plum blossom, its delicate branches providing the foundation for vibrant blooms. However, these branches also pierced through the flower like sharp thorns, hinting at the duality of nature - beauty and fragility intertwined. Despite its diminutive size, the plum blossom embodied unwavering vitality, enduring life's storms and harsh winters to bloom with renewed splendor in spring, as if it were human life.

On the other hand, students engaged in a dialogue with Dickinson's poetry through their paintings. DP1 Gabrielle's artwork "The Banished Pair," inspired by the poem "I am nobody," divided the canvas into two halves, representing a modern city with a cold atmosphere on the left and an ancient town with a warm atmosphere on the right. The contrast between the two halves highlighted the girls' isolation and alienation from both the modern and traditional worlds, trapped in a state of limbo, yearning for a place to call home.

狄金森的诗歌常常以深邃而抽象的方式探讨生命、自然和人类存在的主题。通过与中国国画这一传统艺术形式的结合，展览呈现了一种跨越文化边界的艺术共鸣。中国国画的笔触、色彩和意境与狄金森诗中的意象产生了奇妙的互动，为观众呈现了一场文学与艺术的跨界盛宴。

这个项目不仅是对艺术形式的创新探索，更是对狄金森诗歌深层意义的审视。观众有幸领略到两个截然不同的艺术领域如何在共同的创作中交融，为我们呈现出一幅精致而富有层次的文学与艺术交汇之作。

Dickinson's poetry often explores themes of life, nature, and human existence in a deep and abstract manner. Through the fusion with traditional Chinese painting styles, the exhibition presented a marvelous artistic resonance transcending cultural boundaries. The strokes, colors, and artistic conception of traditional Chinese painting interacted wonderfully with the images in Dickinson's poetry, offering the audience a cross-cultural feast of literature and art.

The collaborative exhibition is not only an affirmation of students' creativity and talent but also a unique interpretation of the beauty in Dickinson's poetry and Chinese painting. Through such exchanges and displays, we firmly believe that the combination of literature and art can create a richer and more diverse cultural experience. Interdisciplinary collaboration also helps cultivate students' lifelong learning awareness. They will learn to think from different perspectives when facing complex problems and, by integrating various knowledge and skills, find innovative solutions. Such learning experiences will lay a solid foundation for students' future academic and professional development.

11月24日, 周五将在AIC学校大堂举办一场慈善拍卖会。学生们的这些珍贵作品将以拍卖的形式呈现，所得善款将用于慈善用途。这是一个难得的机会，不仅能够欣赏到学生们的艺术创作，还能通过慷慨解囊支持慈善事业。

The culmination of the exhibition will be on Friday, November 24, with a charity auction. These precious works of art by students will be presented through auction, and the proceeds will be entirely used for charitable purposes. This is a rare opportunity, not only to appreciate the artistic creations of students but also to support charitable causes through generous contributions.
