On 14th November, the opening game of the ISBC International High School Basketball Tournament Guangzhou Region started in Guangzhou JIU Hong Kong and Macau Children's School. The basketball team of ASJ had a high spirit, fought bravely, showed good spirit and competitive level, and finally won the game with high scores.
iNTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The ISBC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP was established in 2021, and the inaugural tournament attracted 34 international schools from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The tournament adopts a home-and-away system, resulting in a stronger sense of school honour, more active student/parent fan team building, and wider promotion of the tournament.
The 2023-24 ISBC season is planned to focus on Beijing and Guangzhou as the main tournament regions, and later radiate to other first-tier cities. All participating teams will be divided into groups based on their geographic locations to play regular season home and away matches, and the tournament will officially begin in November 2023, with the opening match of the Guangzhou tournament scheduled for 14 November 2023 at the ASJ. All teams will go through the stages of regular season, playoffs (November-December) and national finals to determine the 2023-24 ISBC League Champion.
In the evening of 14th November, Principal Martin Lai , the academic chief inspector of ASJ, came to give encouragement before the competition. He said that ASJ encourages students to develop their all-roundedness, and hopes that students will love to play sports, develop sports habits, and build up a healthy body, and that ASJ will continue to promote more diversified and interesting sports projects on campus, so that students can cultivate their interests in sports. We hope that the participating students will enjoy the competition and the fun of sports.
After the wonderful dance performance of the school dance team, the game officially began. The loud whistle broke the calm of the stadium, with the referee's order, the participating athletes quickly entered the "battle" state, the intense and fierce atmosphere permeated the field. On the field, the athletes unity and cooperation, tacit co-operation, showing good collective cohesion.
As time passed, the game became more and more exciting. Every athlete fought hard on the court, grasped every opportunity to break through the defence, and left the most wonderful achievements and happy memories in the basketball game with smooth three-step layups and accurate shots through the net, their enterprising and hard work also made this basketball game extra exciting and vivid.
The participating athletes were flying on the court, they were not only chasing the basketball, but also chasing the victory and a better tomorrow. In the end, after a fierce competition, ASJ finally became the winner of this basketball tournament!
There is an end to the game, but the struggle never ends. In this basketball tournament, students not only showed their youthful style, but also deepened their friendship in unity and hard work, leaving a splendid colour for the high school basketball team! We wish the ASJ school basketball team members continue to get good results, and all the way through the thorns and thistles, grow up in the tournament experience, and harvest the fruits of hard work and youth.
