At FCG we warmly welcome children into our care, building upon the solid foundation laid by their parents, and guiding them towards becoming socially adept individuals. We become their second home.
Boarding is not just a functional space; it is a vibrant community. The boarding team provides a wide range of support functions, all focussed on providing a space where students' development is prioritized. This is truly a community where all students can thrive and grow.
In the boarding department, the dedicated "parents" provide comprehensive support and assistance to the students in various areas, including academics, socialisation, sports, and psychological counselling. Teachers take personal time and effort to guide younger students through tasks such as making their beds, folding clothes, organizing their desks and cabinets, cultivating positive relationships with roommates, and effectively managing their time. This guidance continues until the students successfully adapt to the boarding lifestyle.
Emphasizing the importance of social development, our boarding program not only teaches children self-care but also equips them with the skills to navigate relationships with teachers and peers. Jerry, our dedicated coordinator, has meticulously designed a diverse range of boarding activities that cater to various interests and needs.
These engaging activities encompass festive celebrations and activities like:
· Halloween and Mid-Autumn Festival events,
· Practical life skills classes covering topics such as internet safety and cooking techniques,
· Exciting outdoor adventures and outdoor movies, as well as monthly birthday parties.
Through these activities, students have the opportunity to explore their own identities, discover new worlds, and forge lifelong friendships. They interact with peers from different grades, with diverse personalities, sharing laughter, embracing challenges, and growing together, thereby forming deeper bonds of friendship. Socialising is an especially key component to holistic development of the children. Creating an environment where students can socialise in a safe space, they are enabled to develop skills that benefits their overall growth. They learn to manage their relationships with peers and teachers and, they become more independent.
