2月22日，广州市斐特思学校顺利举行“飞行仿真训练中心”揭牌仪式。

达芬奇飞行教育课程总监魏俊毅先生与广州市斐特思学校中外方总校长郑雷女士和盖朗宁先生为训练中心揭幕。这标志着“广州斐特思飞行仿真训练中心” 正式成立，双方将在课程支持、飞行基地实践等方面展开多维度的深度合作与交流。

On February 22nd, Fettes College Guangzhou successfully hosted the grand opening ceremony of the "Flight Simulation Training Centre".

The centre was inaugurated by Mr Junyi Wei, Course Director of the VinciFly, alongside Mr Jeroen Gakes and Ms Julie Zheng, the Expat and Chinese Heads of the College. This momentous occasion signifies the official establishment of the "FCG Flight Simulation Training Centre," paving the way for extensive collaboration and exchange between the two entities regarding course support and practical flight training.

揭幕仪式上，中外方总校长说：“飞行仿真训练中心不仅让学生了解飞行，它亦是学生梦想的发射台，为学生奔赴天空提供了不设限的可能。”

"The Flight Simulation Training Center not only allows students to learn about flying but also serves as a launching pad for students' dreams, setting up unlimited possibilities for students to take to the sky," said the Expat and Chinese Heads of College at the opening ceremony.

广州斐特思飞行仿真训练中心设有飞行模拟舱、飞行理论课程学习教室，是一处集合技能练习、飞行演练、理论知识学习于一体的科技空间。学生可以在这里驾驶仿真的飞机，充分体验飞行的乐趣，从这里启程，飞向新的高度。

The FCG Flight Simulation Training Centre encompasses a flight simulation module and a classroom dedicated to flight theory courses. It is a technological hub integrating practical skill training, flight drills, and theoretical knowledge acquisition. Here, students can take the pilot's seat in a simulated aircraft, immersing themselves in the exhilaration of flying and embarking on a journey towards new horizons.

The essence of life lies in the pursuit of happiness, service to others and the exploration of one's passions, while education prepares us for the journey.

Embracing the principles of science and technology education, Fettes College Guangzhou has established the STEAM Science and Technology Festival, the Aviation Museum research initiative, and the Flight Simulation Training Centre. These cutting-edge scientific and technological endeavours will serve as beacons of enlightenment for students as they venture forth on their path towards scientific discovery.

魏俊毅先生为在场的同学们详细介绍了飞行课程。飞行课程包含《航空的奥秘》科技主题素质课和《智能飞行》训练课。

初级阶段课程包含超32个经典航空知识模块，采用无边界教育方式，打破不同学科的界限，将机械、物理、数学、通信、气象、地理等多学科知识融会贯通，并从飞行器、机场、太空、飞行、制造、指挥、表演、竞赛等角度，全方位对学生进行航空知识普及与启蒙，探究航空背后的科技奥秘，激发学生对航空领域科学技术的探索欲望。

《智能飞行》课融合了空气动力、机电、气象等丰富知识，采用软硬件结合的教学方式。学生可在校内飞行仿真训练中心，跟随专业导师学习飞行原理、训练模拟飞行驾驶技能等，亲身体验飞行的乐趣与挑战。

该课程可让同学们掌握飞行必备知识，如：了解驾驶流程、识读飞行仪表、识别飞行标识等，培养同学们的航空兴趣和基本素养。掌握航空知识与模拟飞行技能的学子可使用高阶固定翼飞行训练器完成进阶训练，为考取飞行驾驶执照打下坚实的基础。

在课余时间，学生亦可报名参加全国青少年模拟飞行锦标赛等赛事，与来自全国各地的学子同场竞技，提升飞行技能。

Mr. Wei enthusiastically presented the comprehensive flying courses to the attending students. The flight curriculum encompasses two main components: the "Aviation Mystery" , a science and technology-themed course, and the "Intelligent Flight" training course. The primary course incorporates over 32 modules of classic aviation knowledge. Employing a boundary-free educational approach transcends the confines of individual disciplines and integrates concepts from machinery, physics, mathematics, communication, meteorology, geography, and more.

Aviation knowledge is disseminated and enlightens students through the lens of aircraft, airports, space, flight, manufacturing, command, performance, competition, and other aspects. This approach aims to unravel the scientific and technological mysteries behind aviation, fueling students' curiosity and encouraging their exploration of science and technology within the aviation field.

The "Intelligent Flight" course combines knowledge in aerodynamics, mechanical and electrical engineering, meteorology, and other relevant areas. It employs a combination of hardware and software teaching methods. Within the on-campus Flight Simulation Training Centre, students can acquire flight principles, receive training in simulated flight skills under the guidance of expert instructors, and experience the exhilaration and challenges of flying. This course equips students with essential flight knowledge, such as understanding the flight process, interpreting flight instruments, recognising flight signals, fostering their interest in aviation and developing foundational literacy. Students who attain proficiency in aviation knowledge and flight simulation skills can further advance their training using the advanced fixed-wing flight simulator, laying a solid groundwork for obtaining a flight pilot license. Students can also participate in the National Youth Flight Simulation Championship and other competitions during their leisure time, engaging in friendly competition with peers from across the country while enhancing their flying abilities.

从嫦娥奔月的古老故事到卫星探空的科学研究，人类对高空的热爱与好奇亘古不变。当飞行不再遥不可及，驾驶私人飞机或将成为一种新兴的出行方式。

In line with this exciting prospect, Fettes College Guangzhou is poised to launch a simulation flight course, offering students cutting-edge and visionary learning opportunities. By acquiring and mastering flight skills, students will develop a sense of composure and confidence when confronted with unknown challenges. We anticipate that numerous Fettes pilots will soon take to the skies, piloting small aircraft amidst the vast blue expanse.
