At the start of the meeting, Teacher Zhang Yi, the head of the English department at CEP Middle School, presented a comprehensive and detailed report on the project's development, encompassing five key aspects: research background, research content and objectives, research methods and processes, research results and effects, as well as reflection and expectation. The report emphasized the value and innovation of the research in three distinct ways.
Highlight 1: The research results showcase innovative advancements in five distinct areas. They define the concept of "thematic significance-based project homework"; categorize types of English project-based innovative assignments; establish a design and implementation framework for thematic significance-driven project-based assignments; explore an evaluation system for thematic significance-based project innovation; and develop a series of cases for implementing thematic significance-oriented project-based innovative assignments.
Highlight 2: The visualization of research process results and the high alignment between objectives and practice are noteworthy. Project members collaborated and engaged in joint discussions. Over the course of two years, they participated in 21 project forums for learning, and their practical research extended to nine grades across primary and secondary schools. A total of 10 high-quality unit project-based research assignments were designed, enabling students to learn, think, and act in authentic learning environments, fostering lively thinking, effective language use, and dynamic classrooms.
Highlight 3: The research outcomes have garnered widespread recognition and promotion in schools, districts, and cities, particularly in the realm of regional collaborative teaching and research. The research team has shared their achievements 11 times at school, district, and city education and research forums, earning first and second place awards for writing sub-papers at the district level. The members of the research group have presented district-level public courses and been invited to deliver city-level lectures, garnering widespread praise and recognition.
