近日，广州暨大港澳子弟学校（ASJ）中学部学生在各项语言类比赛中表现优异，共获得近30个奖项，多名获奖学子将在今年暑假分赴世界各地参加赛事的亚太区/全国总决赛。
其中，在IVY CUP常春藤杯2024春季地区半决选中，获得1金1银3铜的好成绩，5名学子晋级IVY CUP亚太区总决选。
在第十八届“阳光之星”青少年英语口语应用能力展示活动广东选区省级决选中，获得5金4银4铜的好成绩，5名学子晋级全国赛。
在第十一届优秀中小学生单词拼读展示活动广东选区省级决选中，获得3金3银3铜的好成绩，3名学子晋级全国赛。
IVY CUP常春藤国际语言能力交流展示活动，一场专为3-18岁英语学习爱好者打造的盛宴，由美国常春藤国际组委会官方组织。

自1954年成立以来，美国常春藤国际组委会一直致力于创新和卓越，举办了数以万计的活动。2018年，常春藤国际组委会决定2019年将以英语活动为主的“ 常春藤杯”引入到中国大陆，作为全球顶尖活动IVY CUP希望所有适龄参与者积极参与，寻找优秀学子助之走向世界，通过积极参与国际活动不断提升综合能力和拓宽视野，在未来可获得更多被名校青睐的机会。

活动旨在响应党中央国务院《关于进一步加强和改进未成年人思想道德建设的若干意见》的号召；促进少年儿童英语教育事业的发展，为国家选拔、培养外语人才，给广大少年儿童提供展示和交流的机会；同时为广大青少年营造良好的英语学习氛围，促进学生学习英语的主动性，激发广大青少年的英语学习热情，提高广大青少年英语水平及与世界沟通的能力。
第十八届“阳光之星”青少年英语口语应用能力展示活动暨第十一届优秀中小学生单词拼读展示活动所有参加总决选的选手均可获得一考双证，选手除了获得本活动的荣誉证书之外，同时将获得由中国智慧工程研究会颁发社会实践证书。
ASJ在日常教学活动中大部分以英语为主要教学语言。在语言培养的过程中，ASJ所关注的并不是语言技巧的绚烂，而是对于语言的正确理解和内在的沟通驱动力。通过兴趣引导，在不同阶段进行体系化的语言教学，逐步让每一位学生在中文、英文、粤语三方面都有良好的提升。同时，当学生的语言兴趣被激发后，ASJ也非常支持学生进行其他语言的学习或利用语言展示个人魅力。

通过校内外活动和赛事，让学生们尽情展示他们在语言各方面的才能或才艺，鼓励孩子学习语言，并通过语言这个途径来展示他们自己。

The aim of the event is to promote the development of English education for children and youth, to select and train foreign language talents for the country, and to give children and youth the opportunity to display and communicate; at the same time, it creates a good atmosphere for the youth to learn English, promotes the initiative of students to learn English, stimulates the youth's enthusiasm for learning English, and improves the youth's English proficiency and their ability to communicate with the world.

ASJ uses English as the main language of instruction in most of its daily teaching activities. In the process of language cultivation, what ASJ focuses on is not the splendor of language skills, but the correct understanding of the language and the inherent drive to communicate. Through interest-led, systematic language teaching at different stages, we gradually enable each student to make good improvement in Chinese, English and Cantonese. At the same time, ASJ is very supportive of students learning other languages or utilizing the language to demonstrate their personal charisma once their interest in the language has been stimulated.
