走出教室，亲手触碰山林河流的蓬勃脉动，亲身体验碧海蓝天的广阔无垠。学习，并不局限于书页纸张的知识堆砌。天高海阔，与伙伴，看世界，也看自己。

于是，在这个践行周，爱莎荔湾一年一度的标志性活动，我们秉承IB教学理念，将课程置于全球化和本地化场景下，并以探究体验式教育的形式加以呈现，助力学生在挑战中实现团队和个人层面上的成长。

以户外探索活动为主线，我们引领学生走出课堂，投身大自然。通过实地实践，将课本的抽象概念转化为具体生动的认知。跨越山水间的距离，收获又一次的成长。

Stepping out of the classroom, students personally touch the vibrant pulse of mountains and rivers and experience the vastness of the blue sea and sky. Learning is not confined to the pages of a book. The world is vast, and with friends, we explore both the world and ourselves.

This Action Week, an annual signature event at ISA Liwan, embodies the IB teaching philosophy by placing the curriculum in both global and local contexts and presenting it through inquiry-based experiential education. This helps students achieve growth on both team and individual levels through challenges.

Focusing on outdoor exploration activities, we lead students out of the classroom and into nature. Through hands-on practice, abstract concepts from textbooks are transformed into concrete and vivid understanding. Spanning mountains and rivers, students gain another valuable experience of growth.

6月17日，国际中学的8-10年级同学们满怀期待地踏上了前往英德仙湖户外公园的旅程，正式开启了为期三天两夜的践行周探险之旅；而11-12年级的同学们则满怀激情地前往福建漳州，拉开了五天四夜践行周活动的序幕。

On June 17, the grade 8 to 10 students of the international middle school embarked on a highly anticipated journey to Xianhu Outdoor Park in Yingde, kicking off a three-day, two-night Action Week adventure. Meanwhile, the grade 11 to 12 students enthusiastically headed to Zhangzhou, Fujian, marking the beginning of a five-day, four-night Action Week activity.

英德篇：自然践行的力量

山野徒步

行程的前两日是爱丁堡公爵奖的户外探索练习之旅。

同学们背负沉重的行囊，携带露营与野炊装备，以小组为单位从同心岛启程，向10公里外的红茶谷营地进发。他们不畏酷暑与泥泞，凭借坚韧不拔的毅力和组员间的鼓励扶持，徒步穿越山林。

首日的天气和各种突发状况给徒步带来了挑战。在同伴们的互相鼓励和老师们的细心引导下，同学们积极复盘，调整路线和分组，次日表现更佳。最终，公路徒步组和探险徒步组都顺利完成徒步的挑战。

这是一次深刻的成长和学习体验。通过面对挑战、克服困难和与同伴紧密合作，学生们不仅仅在技能上带来了提升，更是学会了如何在逆境中坚持，如何在困难中寻找解决方案，以及如何与他人有效合作，这些都是他们未来生活和职业发展中不可或缺的宝贵经验。

Hiking in the Wild

The DofE International Award practice journey took up the first two days of the trip.

Students need to travel in small groups from Tongxin Island to the Black Tea Valley campsite 10 km away, while carrying heavy backpacks filled with camping and picnic supplies. Despite the heat and muddy conditions, they persevered through the forest with resilience and mutual encouragement.

On the first day, the weather and unexpected situations posed challenges to the hiking. With mutual encouragement from companions and careful guidance from teachers, students actively reviewed their performance, adjusted routes and groups, and showed improved performance the next day. Finally, both the road hiking group and the adventure hiking group have successfully completed the hiking challenge.

Students deeply experienced profound growth and learning. Facing challenges, overcoming obstacles, and closely collaborating with peers, they not only improved their skills but also learned how to persevere in adversity, find solutions in difficulties, and effectively cooperate with others. These are invaluable experiences crucial for their future life and career development.

湖上桨板

结束了徒步项目后，同学们迎来一项新的挑战——湖上桨板。这项融趣味于竞技中的水上运动能有效激发同学们的团队意识，培养同学们的抗逆力和自信心。每个人在活动进行中都难免会翻船落水，但此时仍挂在脸上的笑容展现出同学们面对逆境时的正能量，这也将是促使他们继续前行的宝贵财富。

Paddleboarding on the Lake

After the hiking div, students will take on a new challenge - paddleboarding on the lake. This competitive yet enjoyable water activity helps build their resilience and confidence as well as the sense of collaboration. While it is inevitable that someone will tip over their board and fall into the water during this game, students can show that they have hope even in the face of adversity by a hearty smile.

中华非遗传承：茶制作

同学们还体验了当地特色——采茶及茶制作。大家来到茶山，跟随着茶农们学习采茶技艺：什么样的茶叶可以采？如何判断芽茶的质量？这类问题都在实践中得到了解答。

随后，同学们进入制茶车间，跟着炒茶师傅一起学习炒茶过程中的要领，了解不同品种茶叶的风味差异。对于同学们而言，这是一次新奇的体验，亦是一次深入探究当地产业的机会。

临近尾声，同学们在专业茶艺师的悉心指导下，亲手为团队伙伴们精心带来以“英红九号”为基础的“特调”奶茶，作为庆功宴上的特别“佳酿”。奶茶风味各具特色，现场气氛热烈高涨，成就感和满足感瞬间涌上了每个人的心头。

为表彰同学们的不懈努力与付出，爱莎荔湾为每位参与并完成践行周的8-10年级同学颁发了代表2024践行周主题的“冒险家”勋章：这不仅是对三天两夜户外探索挑战的纪念，更是对爱莎学子展现出的“探究·成就·践行”精神的特别嘉奖。

这也凸显了爱莎荔湾践行周所承载的高远意义：步伐丈量成长，践行成就未来。

Learning traditional Chinese craft:

Tea-making

In addition to outdoor activities, students also experienced the local specialty of tea picking and tea making. They visited the tea mountains, learning the art of tea picking from tea farmers: which tea leaves can be picked? How to judge the quality of tea buds? These questions were answered through hands-on practice.

Following tea picking, students followed the masters of tea making to the tea processing workshop, learning the essentials of the tea frying process with the tea masters, and understanding the flavor differences of various tea varieties. This was a novel experience for the students and an opportunity to delve into the local industry.

Towards the end, under the guidance of professional tea artists, students made "special blend" milk tea using "Yinghong No. 9" as the base, presenting it as a special "brew" at the celebration banquet. The diverse flavors of milk tea, the lively atmosphere, and the sense of achievement and satisfaction filled everyone’s hearts.

In recognition of the students' unremitting efforts in this journey, ISA Liwan also awarded the Medal of Adventurers to each student who completed 2024 Action Week. It is not only a commemoration of the three-day and two-night event, but also a special reward for the spirit of “inquiring, succeeding and acting” displayed by ISA students.

This also aligns with the significance of the Action Week: Steps measure the growth, actions shape the future.

Facing the sea, observing the ebb and flow of the tide, feeling the vastness of life. The sea, too, is a vivid classroom.

面朝大海，观潮起潮落，感人生海海。大海，同样也是生动的课堂。
