In the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, unit inquiry learning occupies a core position. It encourages students to explore actively and think positively, and cultivates students' critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. As an important part of unit inquiry, field trips have irreplaceable significance.



外出探究为学生提供了一个将课堂知识与现实世界相连接的桥梁。在真实的环境中,学生们能够更加直观地感受和理解所学内容,使抽象的知识变得具体可感。以I-EP PYP六年级学生的澳门文化探索之旅为例,学生们在澳门亲身体验历史遗迹、博物馆以及当地的文化氛围,深刻领悟到人们的文化如何影响他们的信仰、价值观和行动。这种亲身体验不仅拓宽了学生的视野,还加深了他们对知识的理解和记忆。

Field trips provide a bridge for students to connect classroom knowledge with the real world. In a real environment, students can feel and understand what they have learned more intuitively, making abstract knowledge concrete and perceptible. Taking the Macau cultural exploration trip of sixth-grade students as an example, students personally experience historical sites, museums, and the local cultural atmosphere in Macau, and deeply understand how people's culture affects their beliefs, values, and actions. This personal experience not only broadens students' horizons but also deepens their understanding and memory of knowledge.

沉浸于澳门的文化与历史根源
Immersing in Macau’s Cultural and Historical Roots



探险从参观妈祖庙开始,这是一处具有深厚精神意义的地方,学生们在那里了解到古代信仰在当代澳门的影响。妈祖作为海神的故事和传统,让学生们一瞥当地社区如何保持其文化习俗。接着,学生们参观了标志性的大三巴牌坊,这是澳门最著名的地标之一。站在这座17世纪葡萄牙教堂的遗址前,学生们反思了澳门的殖民历史如何塑造了城市中的文化融合。在建筑、语言和宗教等方面,欧洲与中国文化的融合引发了学生对跨文化连接的全新思考。

The adventure began with a visit to Mazu Temple, a place of deep spiritual significance, where students learned about the influence of ancient beliefs in modern-day Macau. The rich stories and traditions behind Mazu, the goddess of the sea, gave the students a glimpse into how local communities maintain cultural practices over time. Next, the students visited the iconic Ruins of St. Paul's, one of the most famous landmarks in Macau. Standing before the remnants of this 17th-century Portuguese church, the students reflected on how Macau's colonial history has shaped the fusion of cultures in the city. The discussion on how European and Chinese influences merged in architecture, language, and religion opened up new ways of thinking about cross-cultural connections.



在澳门博物馆,学生们更深入了解了这个地区的历史和文化织锦。展品涵盖了澳门的早期中国移民到作为葡萄牙贸易港的角色,进一步帮助学生将澳门丰富的传统与现代价值观联系起来。玫瑰圣母堂的参观提供了另一个关于宗教影响的视角,学生们观察了天主教对澳门发展的影响。这座教堂精美的设计和历史意义为学生们理解不同文化如何在澳门共存和互动增添了新的维度。

At the Macau Museum, students were able to dive deeper into the historical and cultural tapestry of the region. The exhibits covered a broad spectrum of Macau’s past, from its early Chinese settlers to its role as a Portuguese trading port, further helping students connect the historical dots between Macau’s rich traditions and modern values.The visit to the Church of the Lady of the Rosary offered yet another perspective on religious influence, as the students observed the impact of Catholicism on Macau’s development. The church's intricate design and historical significance added another layer to their understanding of how different cultures coexist and interact in Macau.



当天的行程在官也街的学生主导探索中结束。官也街以其热闹的本地商店和美食小吃而闻名,学生们亲身体验了澳门的现代文化如何反映其多元的历史背景。学生全权负责,走街串巷,锻炼了他们的沟通能力,并观察到文化价值观如何在日常生活中体现。

The day concluded with a fun and educational student-led exploration on Rua do Cunha. This bustling street, known for its vibrant local shops and delicious snacks, allowed students to experience firsthand how Macau’s modern culture reflects its multicultural past. The students took charge, guiding their groups through the street, practicing communication skills, and making observations about how cultural values are reflected in everyday life.

探索现代澳门
Exploring Modern Macau

第二天,学生们继续他们的探索,首先参观了澳门渔人码头,在这里他们观察到娱乐、历史和建筑的结合。这个环境让他们讨论了澳门的文化身份如何在新旧融合中不断演变。

On the second day, the students continued their exploration with a visit to Macau Fisherman's Wharf, where they observed the blend of entertainment, history, and architecture. The setting allowed them to discuss how Macau’s cultural identity is still evolving, mixing the old with the new.



最后一站是澳门科学馆,在那里学生们将注意力转向科学与技术。虽然此次旅行主要聚焦于文化与历史的探索,但这个参观地点让学生们反思文化价值观和信仰如何影响一个社会对教育与科学技术发展的态度。

The final stop was at the Centro de Ciência de Macau, where the students turned their focus to science and technology. While the trip primarily focused on cultural and historical exploration, this visit allowed students to reflect on how cultural values and beliefs influence a society's approach to education and progress in science and technology.



为期两天的旅程不仅丰富了学生们的知识,还让他们大开眼界。它将他们在课堂上探索的理念带入现实,为他们提供了文化历史如何影响信仰、价值观和行动的真实例子。通过这次沉浸式体验,学生们更加理解了不同文化的交汇如何创造出像澳门这样独特而充满活力的社会。
The two-day journey was not only informative but also eye-opening for the students. It brought to life the ideas they had been exploring in the classroom, offering real-world examples of how beliefs, values, and actions are shaped by cultural history. Through this immersive experience, students gained a greater understanding of how the interdiv of different cultures creates a unique and dynamic society like Macau.



I-EP PYP六年级的澳门之旅无疑是一次宝贵的体验,丰富了他们的UOI探究,并帮助他们在文化与人类行为之间建立了联系。

The Grade 6 Macau trip was undoubtedly a valuable experience for everyone involved, enriching their UOI exploration and helping them connect the dots between culture and human behavior.
