As one of the core components of the IB curriculum, Theory of Knowledge (TOK) aims to encourage students to critically reflect on the pursuit of knowledge – how knowledge is produced, acquired, disseminated and applied in the different areas of knowledge. During the one-hour session at the TOK Café, the room was filled with lively discussions. Students presented their knowledge claims, examples, and arguments, engaging with teachers on critical questions such as “Does acquiring knowledge destroy our sense of wonder?” Through this process, they not only received valuable feedback and diverse perspectives but also deepened their critical understanding of knowledge, helping them refine the structure of their essays. This scene is not only a reflection of academic growth but also a perfect demonstration of TOK’s core value—transcending traditional classrooms to reflect on oneself, connect disciplines, and embrace diverse worldviews and perspectives in the exploration of knowledge.

To add a comfortable and harmonious atmosphere to the event, our teachers transformed into baristas, serving hot coffee and hot chocolate with warm smiles. This simple yet heartfelt gesture reminded us that critical thinking and learning can thrive in any setting—whether in the classroom, during assessments, or in a relaxed social environment like this one.
