Guide Dogs for the Blind Fundraising Project 益起关注导盲犬，为视障人士谋福利

The Guangzhou Guide Dog School is the only public welfare organisation specialising in guide dog services in South China. With the mission to ‘breed and train excellent guide dogs that meet international standards and provide them free of charge to suitable visually impaired people to lead the way, publicise the work of guide dogs and promote the spirit of helping each other, supporting life with life, and building an inclusive society together’. Since June 2016, they have been providing guide dog services in Guangzhou. They are an experienced team, and their headmaster, Edith Li, is a certified guide dog instructor of the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF), and the school has become an official member of IGDF.

广州导盲犬学校：华南地区唯一专业从事导盲犬服务的公益机构，以“繁殖及训练优秀及符合国际标准的导盲犬，并免费提供给适合的视障人士领路，宣传导盲犬工作，发扬互相帮助的精神，以生命影响生命，共建共融社会”为己任。从2016年6月开始开展广州导盲犬服务，是一支经验丰富的团队，校长李苑甄Edith,是国际导盲犬联盟认证的导盲犬导师，该校已经成为国际导盲犬联盟正式申请会员。

We were honoured to invite a professional trainer from the Guangzhou Guide Dog School to our school to bring a lively and interesting guide dog sharing session to the G1 children of ISA Science City. Combined with pictures and videos, the trainer vividly introduced to the students the current situation of guide dogs in China, the breeds of guide dogs, the strict selecting and training process, as well as the great help they bring to visually impaired friends in travelling. In addition, the children also had the opportunity to wear ‘special’ glasses and really feel the dark world, and experience relying on their sense of hearing and touch to perceive the surrounding environment in the dark. This experience will help the children to understand more about the living conditions of the visually impaired and further develop their empathy. The G1 students learnt a wealth of knowledge in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

我们很荣幸邀请到了广州导盲犬学校专业训练员入校为爱莎科学城一年级的孩子们带来一场生动有趣的导盲犬科普分享会。训练员结合图片视频等资料，生动地为学生们介绍了我国导盲犬的现状，介绍了导盲犬的品种、严格的筛选和训练过程，以及对视障朋友出行带来的巨大帮助。此外，孩子们也有机会戴上了“特别”的眼镜，真实地感受了黑暗的世界，体验了在黑暗中依靠听觉和触觉来感知周围环境。这样的体验将让孩子们更加了解视障人士的生活状态，进一步培养了他们的同理心。一年级的学生们在轻松愉快的氛围中学习到了丰富的知识。

Then, in the working demonstration session of the guide dogs, the trainers, together with the guide dogs, showed everyone how the guide dogs lead people to avoid obstacles, go up and down steps, find seats and other skills in the process of walking. This also enabled the teachers, students and staff on site to understand the importance of guide dogs more intuitively. At the end of the interaction, the students came forward in an orderly manner and took photos with the guide dogs, and the camera filmed the innocent smiling faces.

随后，在导盲犬工作示范环节，训练员与导盲犬一起，给大家展示了导盲犬在行走过程中是如何带领人避开障碍、上下台阶、寻找座位等技能。这也让现场的师生和员工们更直观地理解了导盲犬的重要性。互动尾声，学生们有序上前，与导盲犬亲密合影，镜头定格了一张张纯真笑脸。
