In December 2024, The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) Visiting Missions came to our school and gave a wonderful presentation to our high school teachers and students. During the lectures, teachers introduced in detail the education concepts, specialties and admission policies of each Hong Kong university, so that teachers and students could have a deeper understanding of higher education in Hong Kong.
On December 2, 2024, Ms. Kwok, Director of Admissions at the University of Hong Kong, and her delegation came to our school for a special presentation.
In terms of admission policy, Ms. Kwok particularly emphasized the university's emphasis on diversity and inclusiveness. She said that the University of Hong Kong not only values students' academic performance, but also pays attention to their overall quality, innovative thinking and sense of social responsibility. In addition, Ms. Kwok also explained in detail the admission criteria, scholarship schemes and application process of HKU, providing practical advice for students who are about to sit for the Diploma Examination.
During the presentation, teachers and students showed great interest and enthusiasm. They actively asked questions and had an in-depth interactive communication with the admission officers. Ms. Kwok patiently answered the questions, which not only eliminated the teachers' and students' doubts about the policy of further education, but also inspired their vision and confidence in their future studies.
On December 16, 2024, Frank Chow Ka Hang, Associate Director of Global Affairs Office of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and his delegation held a unique promotion event at our university. The delegation provided guidance to students who are going to sit for the Diploma Examination on further studies from PolyU's educational features, professional settings, admission policies and colorful campus life.
During the presentation, Mr. Chow gave a detailed introduction of the university's history, faculty, teaching facilities and research strength. Through vivid examples, they demonstrated PolyU's outstanding achievements in various fields such as engineering, design and hospitality management, as well as the university's positive contributions in promoting science and technology innovation and social services.
Talking about the admission policy, Mr. Chow emphasized the school's emphasis on all-round development and potential exploration. He said that PolyU not only values students' academic performance, but also pays attention to their overall quality, innovative thinking and practical ability. Mr. Chow introduced PolyU's admission criteria, scholarship program and application process in detail, encouraging students to choose a major that suits them according to their interests and expertise.
On 18 December 2024, Professor Huang Xianta, Head of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Admissions Team of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) (CUHK), Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Executive Director of the Vacher Institute for Computational Biology (VICB), and his team held a fascinating seminar at our university.
The presentation started with a lively and interesting biotechnology course. In the classroom, Professor Huang showed students the charm and cutting-edge technology of biotechnology through abundant cases and experiments, explored the mystery of gene editing in depth, and understood how to modify genes through precise operation, bringing hope for the treatment of hereditary diseases.
Meanwhile, Professor Wong also explored the field of synthetic biology with the students, imagining how to design and build new biological systems to open up new paths for future biomanufacturing and environmental protection.
This interesting course gave the students a deep impression of the power of education and the infinite possibilities of biotechnology. Through the course, the scholars also look forward to more such opportunities in the future, to explore the mysteries of science with more students who love biotechnology, to jointly promote the development of biotechnology, and to contribute to the health and well-being of mankind.
Through exchanges and interactions, the students gained a deeper understanding of the curriculum, teaching methods and employment of various disciplines in Hong Kong's colleges and universities, and obtained important information related to further education, as well as a clearer plan for their future.
