This week, ISA Science City School successfully held the much-anticipated Film Festival event. This event was carefully planned to stimulate students' strong interest in filmmaking in all aspects, while allowing them to participate in the planning of behind-the-scenes stories, so that students can unveil the mystery of movies and feel the unique charm of film art in an immersive experience.

本周,爱莎科学城学校针对6年级的学生举办了备受瞩目的电影节。此次活动精心策划,旨在全方位激发同学们对电影制作的浓厚兴趣,同时参与幕后故事的策划,让学生们在沉浸式体验中,揭开电影的神秘面纱,感受电影艺术的独特魅力。

About Film Festival


As an important part of the ISA Secondary School's design curriculum, Film Festival is not just a hands-on filming activity. Before that, students need to invest a lot of energy in reference research, which is the cornerstone of building a film knowledge system.

作为爱莎中学设计课程的重要组成部分,电影节绝非只是单纯的动手拍摄电影的活动。在此之前,学生们需投入大量精力进行参考文献研究,这是构建电影知识体系的基石。


When shooting a movie, plot design and script writing are key links, which require careful conception to lay a wonderful story framework for the film. At the same time, the selection and recording of the shooting location should not be underestimated. Many factors such as space size, lighting effects, noise interference, etc. require students to conduct meticulous inspections.

拍摄一部电影,剧情设计和脚本撰写是关键环节,需精心构思,为影片奠定精彩的故事框架。与此同时,拍摄场地的选择与记录也不容小觑,诸如空间大小、灯光效果、噪音干扰等诸多因素,都需要学生们进行细致入微的考察。

To successfully complete this work, students also need to develop a scientific and reasonable daily time plan. Under the premise of taking into account their studies, they need to cleverly arrange the time for the shooting project. This process has greatly improved the students' time management ability, allowing them to learn to flexibly switch between multiple tasks and efficiently balance various affairs.

不仅如此,为了顺利完成这部作品,学生们还需制定科学合理的每日时间计划。在兼顾学业的前提下,巧妙地安排拍摄项目时间。这一过程极大地锻炼了学生们的时间管理能力,让他们学会在多任务之间灵活切换,高效平衡各项事务。

In the process of video production, students need to actively seek solutions to various problems in a variety of ways. They will search for a large amount of information online to learn from the experience and wisdom of their predecessors; they will also humbly ask teachers and other staff for advice and answer their questions with the help of professionals. ISA Science City school, with its outstanding teaching system, helps students complete film production in the best condition in all aspects.

在视频制作过程中,面对接踵而至的各类问题,学生们需要积极主动地通过多种途径寻求解决方案。他们会上网查阅海量资料,汲取前人的经验智慧;也会虚心向老师和其他工作人员请教,借助专业人士的指导答疑解惑。而爱莎凭借完善的教学体系,全方位助力学生们以最佳状态完成电影制作。


Here, students are not only directors, screenwriters, but also protagonists. They can tell their own stories, share interesting things around them, and incorporate their imaginations into their creations to create their own films.

在这里,同学们既是导演,也是编剧,更是主角。他们得以尽情讲述自己的故事,或是分享身边的点滴趣事、将奇思妙想融入创作,打造出专属于自己的电影作品。



Among the many films, the most noteworthy one is <Catatouille>, shot by Talitha and Selina, which is inspired by the classic Swedish comedy <Ratatouille>. Regarding the choice of this subject, the young director Talitha said: 

在众多部影片中,最值得提及的是由Talitha 和 Selina拍摄的《Catatouille》其灵感来自于瑞典的经典喜剧电影 ——《料理鼠王》。对于这个题材的选择,小导演Talitha 说:


Because everyone in our class likes funny and entertaining movies, I chose to shoot Catatouille because I like to make funny movies.

因为我们班的每个人都喜欢搞笑和娱乐性强的电影,我选择拍摄《Catatouille》也是因为我喜欢拍搞笑电影。


In this eye-opening and wonderful short film, Talitha and Selina had a unique idea to "invite" their cat to play the protagonist mouse (Remy) and used the camera to record these hilarious scenes. Let's walk into the fun and interesting world of "Catatouille" and see what happened!

What is the theme of this work? What are the deep reasons that prompted you to choose this theme for your creation?

A

Me and my partner chose this topic “Sweded”. Because I always wanted to make a funny short film, another reason is I like making people laugh and entertained, that is why I chose this topic.

我和我的搭档选择了这个主题 —— “Sweded”,因为我一直想制作一部有趣的短片,另一个原因是我喜欢让人们开怀大笑和娱乐,这就是我选择这个主题的原因。

In order to let ISA teachers and students enjoy your films at the Film Festival, what strategies were adopted for creative promotion to suit their preferences? 

为让爱莎师生在Film Festival享受你们的电影,创作推广采用了什么策略来契合他们的喜好?

A

We competed in the film festival. ISA staff, teachers and students rated our film, so our target audience was students and ISA staff. We needed to consider the target audience's opinion and preferences because we wanted them to be entertained and have fun throughout the film and not be bored and tired.

我们将参加电影节的角逐,爱莎工作人员、老师和学生将对我们的电影进行评分/评判。我们的目标观众将是学生和爱莎工作人员,我们需要考虑目标观众的意见和喜好。我们希望他们在整个电影过程中都能得到娱乐和享受,而不是感到无聊和疲倦。

What was the biggest difficulties and challenges you encountered during the entire production process?

A

Things like the camera quality, props and the overall recording! When we tried to edit, we got into some troubles like doing background music, trying to edit clips and adding extensions on the screen. These were all the troubles we get through!

如相机质量、道具和整体录制等问题!当我们尝试编辑时,我们遇到了一些麻烦,例如制作背景音乐、尝试编辑剪辑和在屏幕上添加扩展,这些都是我们遇到的问题!

Did you think it was important to fix or address any of the above issues for the audience to like and enjoy the film? If not, how did it affect the target audience?

A

It was very important to fix or solve those problems because we wanted people to like and enjoy our film. We didn't want them to be bored and sad when they were watching. And if we hadn't fixed or solved those problems, it might have been less entertaining and enjoyable for our target audience.

解决这些问题至关重要,因为我们希望观众能喜爱并享受我们的电影!我们不希望他们在观影时感到无聊和沮丧。如果我们不解决这些问题,我们的目标观众可能会觉得电影不够吸引人,乐趣也会大打折扣。

“Students are passionate about this kind of activity and are happy to share their results through different channels and platforms. In the process, they fully demonstrated their abilities and their self-confidence was greatly enhanced. This is the significance of holding Film Festival.” As Teacher Ross said at the end of the interview.
