We are delighted to introduce the new ISA Learner Profile, a framework designed to guide our students in becoming well-rounded individuals who strive to be their best in both academic and personal endeavours. Rooted in the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, this initiative aims to develop key values and behaviours that will support our students throughout their educational journey and beyond.

The ISA Learner Profile incorporates six distinct qualities that align with our school's mission to inspire students to inquire, succeed, and act with integrity. These profiles will serve as a positive framework for setting expectations, guiding behaviour, and creating a cohesive approach to rewards and behaviour management across all year groups. Our goal is to provide a clear and consistent structure that students can follow throughout their time at ISA, creating a positive environment where all students are encouraged to thrive.
“爱莎学习者特质”包含六种不同的品质,与爱莎鼓励学生探究、成就、践行的理念相呼应。以这些特质为主要框架,学校制定了行为标准以及对学生的期望与要求,并在全校推行奖励制度和行为管理体系,目的是为学生在爱莎学习和生活期间提供清晰且一致的行为准则,同时为他们营造一个积极向上、充满支持的环境。
At ISA Tianhe, these stickers are awarded for exceptional demonstrations of our Learner Profile values—going above and beyond in their actions, attitudes, and behaviours.

How It Complements the IB Learner Profile

The ISA Learner Profile has been developed to align with the core principles of the IB Learner Profile while making them more accessible and engaging for our younger students. Using relatable animal characters and simplified language, the ISA profiles allow students to connect with the same core values—curiosity, integrity, kindness, and perseverance—but in a format that is easier to understand. While the IB framework serves as the foundation for lifelong learning, the ISA profiles provide a child-friendly approach that helps students build these essential qualities from an early age.

Act: Compassion and integrity are key to making a positive impact on the world. The Caring Koala reminds students to show kindness to others, while the Principled Penguin encourages fairness, honesty, and a strong sense of responsibility to do what’s right.

Clear Structure and Positive Environment

This system provides a clear structure for both rewards and behaviour management. Students will be recognised for demonstrating the attributes of the learner profiles, earning positive reinforcement that helps build confidence and encourages growth. Teachers will refer to these profiles in guiding student behaviour, creating a consistent approach across year groups and classes.

A Tiered Reward System

The ISA Learner Profile is embedded into our tiered reward system, ensuring that the values and behaviours we aim to foster are consistently reinforced throughout the school day. House tokens are awarded to students who demonstrate the attributes of one of the ISA learner profiles in their actions. Alongside the tokens, students will also receive stickers that align with the specific learner profile they have shown—whether it’s being a Caring Koala or a Determined Bee. This helps children clearly understand why they have been rewarded and connects their behaviour to the specific profile. The stickers also serve as a visible reminder to parents, staff, and peers that the child has done something well. This connection creates consistency between home and school, reinforcing positive behaviours across the entire school community.
