Music provides an outlet for emotional expression, allowing children to explore and communicate their feelings in a safe and creative way. Through music, children can express emotions they might not yet have the words to describe.


This is an integral component of a young student's development and one that is employed by all teachers at BKIK, regardless of what subject is being taught.


音乐是情感表达的出口,让孩子们能够在安全而富有创意的空间中探索和传递他们的感受。


这种能力,是孩子们成长过程中不可或缺的一部分,也是天启所有老师在教学中的核心理念——无论他们教的是数学、科学还是识字。



Of course, this is the focal point of the specialist Music classes as the purpose is simply to have the students develop a love for music, regardless of what medium is used.


当然,在音乐课上,这一点更是被发挥得淋漓尽致。课程的目标很简单:让学生爱上音乐,无论他们是通过唱歌、演奏乐器,还是单纯地聆听。 




Children learn to recognize patterns, follow rhythms, and understand musical structures, which contribute to their cognitive growth.


Exposure to music also has a direct correlation to a young students social and emotional development and this is why it is important for not just teachers, but for parents and caregivers to provide music to their children throughout their early development.


孩子们在音乐中学会识别模式、跟随节奏、理解结构,这些能力为他们的认知发展打下坚实的基础。更重要的是,音乐与孩子们的社交和情感发展息息相关。

At BKIK, music education embodies the IB’s interdisciplinary spirit, seamlessly blending languages and cultures.


From morning rhythm exercises to daily lessons, our ”two written, three spoken” language approach unfolds naturally - Mandarin’s grace, English’s clarity, and Cantonese’s rhythm intertwine in a musical classroom. Music turns language learning into instinctive memory, while cultural identity takes root in rhythm and melody.

More than just an art, music bridges transdisciplinary learning. Through melody, children explore identity, express environmental values, and connect with the world.


音乐更成为超学科探究的纽带,从“我们如何表达自己”到“共享地球”,孩子们以旋律探索身份认同,用创作表达环保理念,在协作演奏中理解全球联结。



When education is infused with music, learning goes beyond books. At BKIK, every note sparks thought, every melody inspires dialogue, and every child grows into a confident, open-minded global citizen.

The students have been developing their vocabulary on the multitude of different musical instruments that come from all corners of the globe.


This is the most popular div of the weekly English Music Specialist classes as the students are naturally curious and eager to listen to the wonderful sounds each instrument makes. 


在课堂上,学生们学习了来自世界各地的多种乐器的名称和特点。这一环节是每周英语音乐课中最受欢迎的部分,因为孩子们天生对声音充满好奇,渴望聆听每一种乐器发出的独特音色。



The students are now able to engage in simple sound recognition of a given instrument as well as use visual cues to decipher what instrument is played.


The purpose of these activities is to not just develop a love for all things music, but to also help with the young learners cognition skills - with specific reference to increasing attention span and concentration. 


现在,学生们已经能够通过声音识别乐器,并通过视觉线索判断正在演奏的乐器种类。这些活动不仅旨在培养孩子们对音乐的热爱,还特别关注提升他们的认知能力,尤其是注意力和专注力的发展。





In conjunction with developing sound recognition, learning music related vocabulary and connecting content to the respective Units of Inquiry, the students also engage in dancing and rhythm exercises during Specialist Music classes.


The students have used percussive instruments such as rhythm sticks, cymbals, xylophones and tambourines to follow basic time signatures and even used their own bodies as instruments by clapping, tapping, stomping and clicking using their mouths, hands and feet.


除了声音识别和音乐词汇的学习,学生们还在音乐课上参与了舞蹈和节奏的启蒙。他们使用节奏棒、钹、木琴和铃鼓等打击乐器,跟随节拍演奏,甚至用自己的身体作为“乐器”,通过拍手、跺脚、敲击和口技等方式参与其中。



The students also have learned dance routines that are done three times a week as part of the morning exercise schedule at BKIK. 


此外,学生们还学习了一些舞蹈动作,每天晨练的时间,就会看到可爱的孩子们在操场跟着老师跳着健康的晨操舞,释放活力,一展精彩。 



Combining music and movement helps to develop muscle strength and coordination, as well as a child's spatial awareness. Spatial awareness refers to a child's understanding of where one’s body is in space and in relation to other people and things.


音乐与运动的融合不仅增强肌肉力量和身体协调性,还能提升孩子的空间意识。在天启的音乐课上,孩子们通过舞蹈和节奏练习,理解自己身体在空间中的位置与他人的关系。



Dancing is also a form of expression that can help build a positive mindset, help to connect with others and most importantly is something that is very fun!


The students have enjoyed participating in various dancing and rhythm activities in the Specialist Music classes and it is something that will continue throughout the course of the second semester. 


舞蹈作为其中一种表达形式,能够帮助孩子们建立积极的心态,促进与他人的互动,更重要的是,它充满乐趣!我们相信,音乐与运动的结合将为孩子打造一个充满乐趣和挑战的奇妙律动世界。




Music is a force that connects humanity in a way that nothing else on earth can. Music can be tied to local tribes, regional geography, nationalistic pride and at the same time cross borders and transcend time.


Music is something that people of all ages can appreciate and connect through and the young learners at BKIK are no exception.


They goal of our teachers is to have the students immersed in music from their first day at school until they graduate so that they develop a life long love for music and learning - two concepts that are forever intertwined.


音乐不仅是文化的载体,更是全球共通的语言。在天启,孩子们通过音乐探索世界各地的文化,培养跨文化的理解力和包容心。


无论年龄大小,人们都能通过音乐产生共鸣,天启的学生也不例外。我们的目标是让学生从入学第一天到毕业都沉浸在音乐中,从而培养他们对音乐和学习的终身热爱——这两者密不可分。 



The International Baccalaureate (IB) espouses the vision of transdisciplinary education in which traditional subjects are to connect seamlessly with each other under the umbrella of a given concept or idea.


Music acts as a bridge between these subject areas and is also the glue that holds the Programme of Inquiry (POI) together at BKIK.  


国际文凭(IB)倡导跨学科教育,强调传统学科在特定概念或主题下的有机融合。音乐正是这些学科之间的桥梁,也是天启探究计划(POI)的核心纽带。 



Music can be expressed through any medium, on any topic (big or small) and is a powerful tool to help develop young minds and the hope is that by exposing the students’ to music through the specialist Music class, as well as through phonics, literacy, Art, PE and mathematics - the students will not only appreciate the value of music but have it as a tool to help express themselves, build confidence and play a vital role in their academic and social development. 


音乐不仅是艺术,更是一种教育工具。它帮助孩子们在情感、认知、社交和身体等多个维度上实现全面发展。
