入读华外，命运的齿轮开始转动 | Stories in HW

我是李怡霏，来自华外2019届6年级3班，是光荣的第一届CEP小学部的毕业生。站在这个特殊节点回望，那些从初闻华外到毕业六年的时光碎片，始终在记忆深处闪烁。

My name is Yifei Li from HW Class 3 Grade 6 (2019), a graduate of the school's inaugural CEP elementary program. These scattered thoughts document my entire journey from first hearing HW's name to six years post-graduation - spoken and unspoken experiences that still defy description.

四年级下学期的转学决定，源于童年挚友的日常炫耀。当她兴奋描述华外的外教课堂、特色课程时，我尚能泰然处之；但当她提及连续三个月获表扬、即将担任升旗主持人时，我终于在某个傍晚泪流满面。就在那天早上，因为上课喝了水，我被原学校的科学老师用书扇在了手臂上，不小心划了一长道血线。那天晚上，我哭着和爸爸妈妈谈话，终于下定决心——转学去华外！

Reflecting on my 2.5 years at HW, I'm struck by how fate intervened. I transferred during 4th grade mainly because my childhood friend wouldn't stop raving about HW's foreign teachers and novel learning experiences. Her daily about understanding native English speakers and earning constant praise eventually broke me. The breaking point came when she announced becoming a school host, hours after my science teacher had slapped my arm bloody for drinking water in class. That night, I convinced my parents to transfer me.

转学过程充满戏剧性。插班排名第三的我本与华外失之交臂，却因招生办老师的一通电话改写人生轨迹。至今记得电话那头的询问："现在还愿意转学吗？"这句改变命运的邀约，开启了我与华外的不解之缘。

The transfer process unfolded dramatically. Ranking third initially excluded me from HW, until a single admissions call redirected my path. That life-altering question - "Still want to transfer?" - sealed my destined bond with HW.

两年半的华外时光，像被命运推着走。挚友在校园里绽放高光时刻：从升旗仪式主持人到广播站站长，从朗诵领诵到合唱团领唱，她的名字成为CEP部的传奇。而我也在悄悄酝酿，收获自己的成长与精彩！在备战小升初的征途中，与她并肩经历挫折与成长。

当五月的栀子花开晚会，我作为领唱站在高台唱《让世界因我而美丽》，俯瞰如繁星般的应援灯海；当六月毕业典礼，我与同学们以大合唱《you raise me up》为青春作结，老师暗中竖起的大拇指，成为那个夏天最珍贵的勋章。

At HW, my friend achieved legendary status as ceremony host, broadcasting director, and choir lead. Meanwhile, we both struggled through intense academic competition. By graduation season, I was counting down every remaining day. My final choir performance at the gardenia blossom festival found me gazing at star-like stage lights below, singing "Let the World Be Beautiful Through Me." Our graduation ceremony closed with "You Raise Me Up," my teacher's discreet thumbs-up making it perfect.

初中三年如白驹过隙。中考前我向父母表达了高中上国际化课程，将来海外升学的想法。他们不理解我为何如此执着甚至不惜和他们冷战，而我每次和他们争吵的时候脑子里都回想起在华外期间发生的点滴：四年级时夸赞我的外教，五年级时参加的活动，六年级时在准备升学时掉过的眼泪。

短暂妥协之后，最终还是辗转至国际高中，有天夜里，我躺在床上，透过纱窗望着窗外黑蒙蒙的天空，脑子里突然走起了回马灯：

我看到在华外四年级的时候，自己第一次参加探究，夜里睡在房车的沙发上，梦里都是白天走过的迷宫；

我看到五年级的自己站在“艺起来”的台上跳舞唱歌，脸上有五彩斑斓的妆和放肆的笑容；

我看到六年级的自己，咬着牙、拖着跳舞拉伤的腿，回到学校时被告知今天正要期中考，却一边痛的呲牙咧嘴一边考出了很好的成绩；

我看到毕业探究的自己硬是要做唯一一个攀岩成功的女生，按下岩壁顶部的按钮的那刻全场都在欢呼；

最后我看到上完最后一天高一的自己背着书包走出校门，突然听见有人在喊自己的名字，一抬头原来是楼上准备上课的朋友们。她们很奋力的大声喊，李怡霏，祝你前程似锦！

Though my parents rejected my high school international program request after middle school, HW's influences persisted - memories of foreign teachers' encouragement, interdisciplinary projects, and that rock-climbing triumph during graduation research eventually led me to an international high school. Lying awake recently, I mentally replayed HW highlights: overnight field studies in RVs, colorful stage performances, limping into exams with dance injuries yet scoring well.

此刻我终于明白，华外给予我的，不只是学术成绩的提升，更是面对未知的勇气。当我在AP课程中斩获雅思7.5、保持90+GPA，当数学竞赛的奖状逐渐铺满书桌，那些曾经的迷茫都化作脚下的基石。

如果有人问我华外在你的人生里意味着什么？我会说可能就像每学期开学典礼上的那座铜钟，在一次次重重的敲击后带来了经久不息的回响。

Now I finally understand: HW gifted me not just academic advancement, but the courage to confront the unknown. Through AP courses, I achieved IELTS 7.5, maintained 90+ GPA, and accumulated math competition awards – past uncertainties solidified into foundations beneath my feet.When asked HW's significance in my life, I compare it to the ceremonial bronze bell struck at each semester's opening – after resounding strikes, its enduring vibrations still guide my path.
