Dragon Boat Festival 校园活动回顾 | 纵享端午节，韵溢AIC

5月21日下午，AIC校园大堂化身为一个洋溢着传统韵味与节日气息的文化空间，迎来了本年度的端午节庆祝活动。此次活动是一次传统节日的再现，更是一场以“体验”为核心的跨文化交流课堂，让来自不同背景的师生在实践中感受中华文化的魅力。

在简短而充满情感的开场致辞中，曹院长提到：“传统是连接过去、现在与未来的桥梁。”他带领大家追溯屈原的故事，重申端午节所承载的团结精神与文化自信，鼓励同学们在亲身参与中理解传统、传承文化。

On May 21, AIC’s first-floor lobby transformed into a vibrant cultural hub as students and teachers came together to celebrate one of China's most time-honored traditions — the Dragon Boat Festival. The event was more than just festive—it was a lively classroom without walls, where hands-on activities brought to life the stories, values, and artistry of Chinese heritage.

"Traditions are bridges connecting past, present, and future," said Mr. David Cao in his opening remarks. He highlighted the legacy of Qu Yuan and the spirit of resilience and unity embedded in this 2,000-year-old celebration, encouraging everyone to embrace the culture through participation.

在Ping老师的指导下，同学们亲自动手包粽子——糯米、粽叶、红枣、咸肉，每一片叶子都包裹着文化与温度。粽子随后由饭堂蒸煮，大家在欢笑中一同品尝劳动成果。

Led by Ms. Ping, students rolled up their sleeves to wrap glutinous rice, red dates, and meats in bamboo leaves—many for the first time! Their creations were later cooked and enjoyed, adding a literal taste of tradition to the day.

Caroline老师带领同学们制作创意饼干：将面团用模具压出粽子形状，并用食用色素和糖霜装饰。香甜出炉后，同学们不仅亲口品尝，更用精美小袋包装，作为节日礼物送给朋友与老师。

In the baking area with Ms. Caroline, students molded and decorated adorable zongzi-shaped cookies. The sweet treats were not only fun to make, but also beautifully packaged as meaningful gifts for friends and teachers.

在Heather、Jing老师与学生Cicely的引导下，大家用干花与树叶，结合彩纸、胶水和画笔，创作出独具风格的手工卡片与艺术作品，每一份作品都寄托着对自然与传统的理解。

Guided by Ms. Heather, Ms. Jing, and student Cicely, participants used dried plants and colorful materials to craft one-of-a-kind artworks. Each piece reflected individual creativity while honoring natural beauty and traditional aesthetics.

Minnie老师带领大家了解端午节挂香包、驱病防疫的习俗。同学们亲手缝制香包，填入艾草与香料，或佩戴或赠送，让节日的意义在小小细节中传递。

Ms. Minnie introduced the protective and symbolic meaning of mugwort in Chinese culture. Students worked in teams to make fragrant sachets and herbal hammers—gifts carrying wishes of health and safety.

在Jasmine老师的带领下，同学们体验传统拓印技艺，挑选喜欢的图案模板与颜色，在空白团扇上拓印出独一无二的图案。完成作品后，大家还在背景墙前合影留念，记录下这一份文化与美感的融合。

With Jasmine's guidance, students explored the elegance of Chinese printmaking. Using ink and templates, they created custom-designed round fans, perfect for a photo moment—and a keepsake of cultural pride.
