As ISA Liwan’s flagship annual event, the festival drew over 3,000 participants—students, parents, and faculty from both domestic and international streams—to witness this groundbreaking convergence.

The ISA Liwan STEAM Festival, themed “Where Art and Technology Dances Together,” has crafted a multifaceted experiential realm:

In the Innovation Pavilion, students delve into workshops where science, technology, and art intertwine in marvelous ways;

In the Academic Achievements Exhibition, the TOK (Theory of Knowledge) display showcases the sharp intellectual insights of students, while the Art Exhibition blooms with creativity and inspiration like a wildfire of ideas.

On the Performance Stage, students unleash their talents with boundless energy;

The Lighthearted Market adds a touch of leisure to the festival.

These four divs unfold like a symphony’s “four movements,” from the opening notes of innovation to the final cadence of the market, each layer of the experience building upon the last, ascending to new heights.

During the ISA Liwan STEAM Festival, every participant unlocked countless visions of the future within the harmonious blend of technology and art. The innovative scientific creations and imaginative artworks vividly embodied ISA Liwan’s educational philosophy of interdisciplinary integration and holistic development.

The sports hall transformed into a dynamic STEAM gravitational field with 40+ interactive booths:

• 3D Printing Lab: Digital models → tangible creations

• Drone Racing Showcase: Precision obstacle flights

• Lacquer Fan Workshop: Chemistry of 2,000-year-old pigments

the “Master Craftsmen Workshop,” transformed into a top photo-taking spot. Teachers from the ISA Innovation Center presented this special showcase, featuring a metal bumblebee bionic robot. This creation integrates bionics and precision machining, achieving an impressive flapping frequency of 18 times per second. Another highly popular exhibit was the student work area, the “New Wave Creations Studio.” Student teams crafted “Constellation Night Lights” using laser cutting and metal welding techniques. The core exhibit featured sound and light synchronization achieved through Arduino programming—showcasing the hard-hitting bursts of romantic imagination from the post-00s generation of engineers!

ISA TALK

From the captivating speeches at ISA Talk to the splendid performances of students’ talents, over fifty programs brilliantly cover various fields including drama, speech, music, and dance. Students of different ages are conveying their inner emotions and creativity through diverse artistic forms.

Teachers and students from the Middle School (International) combined various performances of music and drama, showcasing talents in drama, singing, violin, guitar, piano, and flute.

On the stage of the 800-seat International Auditorium, a first-grade Spanish student, still retaining her youthful innocence, captivated the audience with her fluent Chinese narration of the story “Ants Moving Their Home.” Meanwhile, vibrant Chinese students interpreted the unique meaning of “Who We Are” with elegant French. The barriers of language quietly dissolved within the ISA Liwan campus, as different cultures converged and coexisted on the same stage.

The carefully curated ISA Talk event by ISA Liwan Primary (International) comprehensively and multi-dimensionally demonstrated the students’ progress and breakthroughs in language proficiency. It also witnessed their holistic development in cross-cultural communication, cognitive expansion, self-expression, and other comprehensive competencies.

The programme of CNC primary and middle school were a spectacle of color and excitement, brimming with highlights. The sand painting “Starry Seas within Sand Grains” painted a dreamlike landscape, while stage plays vividly depicted passionate patriotic feelings. Fashion shows burst with youthful vitality, and the first-grade poetry program oozed with cultural elegance. Each piece was a testament to the careful craftsmanship of both teachers and students. The fusion of various art forms ignited dazzling sparks, allowing the young performers to shine brightly on stage.

At ISA Liwan, every student is empowered to freely envision the future within the intertwined dreams of art and innovation. The three major student exhibitions during the ISA Liwan STEAM Festival invite you to witness the brilliance of critical thinking and the beauty of art.

The TOK exhibition booth acted as a prism, with 24 students transforming the concept of “investigating objects” into facets of thought. They delved into the relationship between objects and knowledge questions, showcasing their understanding and application of Theory of Knowledge (TOK). This became a significant highlight not to be missed at the STEAM Festival.

Ether, a TOK learner, shared his inquiry results on-site. He selected three items—a telescope, biodegradable tableware, and shared bicycles—to connect an exploration of “how knowledge is updated.” In today’s era of rapid artificial intelligence development, he learned to use the “hypothesis-testing-reconstruction” experimental method to filter information noise, forging fragmented knowledge into a future-ready cognitive framework.

The ISA Liwan International Visual Arts Graduation Exhibition, themed “Our Echoes,” saw in-depth involvement from Grade 12 graduating students in the curation process. The works spanned multiple disciplines, including Fine Arts, Animation Design, and Architectural Design. The student art display area outside the third-floor library also radiated vibrant artistic expression.

A vibrant cultural fair, featuring elements such as philanthropic intangible cultural heritage (ICH) activities, interactive games, and food check-in stations, attracted numerous students and parents. They wandered through the stalls, laughing during games and pausing before delicious food, experiencing the most lively joy within the campus.

Among them, the ISA Foundation booth, themed “Inheritance of Philanthropic Culture,” vividly presented the students’ recent philanthropic journey in safeguarding ICH through the project “Dragon Boat of the Dragon Boat Festival.” Through two main divs – ICH cultural dissemination and student original works – the booth showcased the cultural practices of the younger generation as they reinterpret tradition from an innovative perspective.

This four-hour STEAM extravaganza, articulated through “Four Movements,” illustrated ISA Liwan’s philosophy of holistic education. At the innovation booths, the fluidity of knowledge was observed; within the arenas of critical thinking, the growth of thought was tangible; on the diverse stages, the resonance of cultures was felt; and at the philanthropic site, the sense of mission in legacy was experienced.

When art and technology resonate in harmony, every child can become the arranger of their own life’s melody. In the future, ISA Liwan will continue to weave the tapestry of education, using holistic education as its score, within the interwoven threads of tradition and innovation. Education here will be both infused with the warmth of humanity and brimming with the spirit of innovation. In this place, growth is not a solo performance but a dazzling symphony co-composed by the ISA community.
