Summer Camp Highlights｜一场关于自然与美食的跨学科启程

This summer, our students embarked on a vibrant bilingual journey filled with exploration, creativity and hands-on learning.

这个夏天，孩子们走进了一个充满探究与创意的世界——我们精心策划的双主题夏令营，以“自然探索”与“食物科学”为核心，在双语环境中融合科学、人文与艺术，引导孩子用多元视角理解世界、表达自我。

Over two exciting weeks, they learned through observation, discovery, and creation, growing as thinkers, communicators, and global learners.

本次夏令营历时两周，鼓励孩子从真实情境中发现问题、提出假设、动手实践，并在合作与交流中不断深化理解与反思。

在自然中学习，在日常中成长，这是我们始终坚守的教育初心。

At the same time, the camp featured a structured English learning module led by native-speaking teachers. Grounded in the themes of exploration, these sessions helped children acquire language skills naturally through real-life contexts.

与此同时，夏令营也特别融入了系统化的英语学习模块，由外教授课，以探究主题为依托，帮助孩子在真实语境中自然习得英语表达与沟通能力。

Through hands-on projects and daily interaction with foreign teachers, children gradually developed their ability to think and express themselves in English, transforming the language from textbook content into a tool for exploring the world.

课堂上，孩子们在与外教互动、完成项目任务的过程中，逐步提升语言思维与跨文化理解力，让英语不再只是“课堂知识”，而成为他们探究世界的一把钥匙。

Children became little nature detectives, embarking on a journey of observation, reasoning and creative thinking.

在“自然主题”课程中，孩子们化身为生态小侦探，开启了一段关于观察、推理与创造的旅程。

From investigating the complex social structures and life cycle of ants to discovering the rapid growth and cultural significance of bamboo, children developed ecological awareness and scientific thinking through thoughtfully planned activities.

从探究蚂蚁的社会结构、生命周期与分工合作的奥秘，到认识竹子的生长特性与文化价值，孩子们在一系列精心设计的活动中建立起初步的生态认知与科学思维。

They observed aquatic ecosystems, discussing who eats whom and how various organisms support one another—an entry point into understanding energy flow and the delicate balance of nature.

他们在观察水生动植物的关系链，讨论“谁吃谁”“谁帮助谁”，从而理解生态系统的能量流动与循环。

Meanwhile, traditional tie-dye activities and hands-on herbal cooking helped children engage with plants through their shapes, colours and scents.

By transforming natural materials into artwork and food, they not only honed their motor skills but also found their own voice in expressing beauty and meaning through nature.

而非遗扎染体验与香草料理制作，则让孩子们在感知自然形态与气味的同时，学会将植物融入艺术与生活，激发他们对美的表达欲与动手能力。

The second week turned food into a lens for cross-curricular exploration, connecting culture, science and health.

第二周的“美食主题”课程，则以食物为载体，引导孩子从文化、科学与健康多个维度展开跨学科探究。

Sushi-making and French pâtisserie classes introduced them to the cultural origins and artistic traditions behind global cuisines, allowing them to experience the joy of culinary creativity.

在寿司DIY与法式甜点制作中，他们了解食物背后的文化渊源与历史故事，体会食物中蕴藏的审美与创造力。

A field trip to an ice cream factory and a yoghurt-making experiment opened up new questions around production processes, hygiene standards and probiotics.

工厂参访与酸奶实验，不仅拓宽了孩子们的视野，也提升了他们对食品生产过程、卫生标准与益生菌科学的初步理解。

These experiences enriched their worldview while strengthening skills in communication, critical thinking and teamwork.

This two-week summer camp was not only a learning journey, but also a meaningful practice in growth and international mindedness.

In a bilingual and immersive environment, children expressed themselves freely, collaborated joyfully, and gradually developed habits of independent thinking and respect for diversity.

We believe the most powerful learning often takes root in spontaneous curiosity—in the orderly trail of migrating ants, or in the act of gently stirring homemade herbal jelly.

As we look ahead, we will continue to design learning experiences grounded in real life and informed by a global perspective, empowering our children to build their own understanding through every “play” and every “why” on the road to a bigger world.
