Professional Development Day|专业培训日:以专业赋能学生,以行动体现关怀

Last Saturday, the calm of our weekend campus gave way to vibrant ideas during Professional Development Day (PD Day). Faculty and staff gathered mainly by division to reflect on teaching practices, explore curriculum innovation, and enhance campus services — all to ensure that in every lesson and interaction, students can experience the power of expertise and genuine care working hand in hand.

上周六,静谧的校园因专业培训日而充满思维碰撞与交流的活力。全体教职员工齐聚一堂,就教学实践、课程创新与校园服务优化展开研讨。培训主要分学部进行,大家在专业成长中汲取最新智慧,凝聚共同目标,只为让学生在每一次课堂和互动中,都感受到专业与关怀并行的力量。

Collarboration and Team Spirit

全员协作和团队精神


Collaboration and team spirit were fully demonstrated on PD Day. Our Head of School opened by recognising key early-semester achievements — secondary differentiated  teaching, the no-phone policy, enhanced home–school communication, steady progress in CIS and WASC accreditation — driven by collective effort and setting a tone of unity. Staff then engaged in division-based learning: teachers exchanged strategies on classroom practice and inquiry learning, while professional service teams joined workshops on cross-cultural communication and stress management. Full participation strengthened alignment between teaching and services, enabling a more cohesive and student-centred learning experience.

全员协作与团队精神在专业培训日中得到了充分体现。在专业培训日的开篇,校长便分享了学期伊始取得的积极成果:中学分层教学级成功推进,无手机政策顺利实施,家校沟通渠道的全面升级,CIS和WASC认证的循序进展…这些改变都源自每位员工的同心协力,也为这一天的学习奠定了“携手共进”的基调。全体员工还通过学部内部研习共同成长:教师在“课堂策略”“探究学习进程”等培训中分享经验、互相启发;专业服务团队在“跨文化沟通”“压力管理”等工作坊中开展协作练习。充分体现全员参与的团队精神,也让教学与服务更加紧密统一,为学生提供更完整、更有温度的学习体验。












Professional Growth for Teachers

教师专业成长


Teacher development was a central focus of the day. Secondary teachers studied core components’ guidance to align standards and ensure holistic growth through inquiry. Elementary teachers built on IB updates to refine Unit of Inquiry planning and explore strategies to deepen transdisciplinary learning and student engagement. Language teachers explored reading strategies to enhance interaction and personalised support, while PE teachers analysed fitness data, optimized lesson design, and forstered a positive learning environment... Through these practical workshops, teachers from different fields continued to elevate their professional skills, delivering more precise and effective lessons and creating rich, targeted learning experiences for every student.

教师专业成长是专业发展日的核心目标之一。中学教师共同研习核心课程指导,统一教学标准,确保学生在探究中全面发展;幼小教师在研习IB最新动态基础上,优化探究单元设计,研习跨学科教学策略,提升课堂探究深度与学生参与度,更好支持每位学生的个性化学习;语言教师聚焦阅读策略,提升课堂互动与个性化支持;体育教师分析体能数据、优化运动课程并营造积极氛围……通过这些实操性研习,不同领域的教师不断提升专业水平,让每一堂课更精准、更高效,也让学生在课堂中获得丰富且有针对性的学习体验。












Enhancing Professional Services

专业服务提升


The day also highlighted the advancement of professional services. Through workshops on cross-cultural communication and improving the campus visit experience, our professional service team learned more effective ways to collaborate and provide support, while also streamlining processes across campus services. These learning experiences and practices help improve the overall efficiency and atmosphere of the school, ensuring that students, parents, and teachers alike benefit from more professional and attentive support.

专业服务提升是专业培训日的重要组成部分。通过跨文化沟通培训校园参观体验提升等工作坊,职能团队的员工学习了更高效的协作与服务方法,同时优化了校园服务各环节的流程与效率。这样的学习和实践不断提升学校整体运作的顺畅度与氛围,让学生、家长和教师都能感受到更专业、更贴心的支持与服务。




Although students were not on campus that day, they remained at the center of our efforts. This day of learning and reflection strengthened every lesson and enriched every interaction. Whether in teaching inquiry or campus services, our goal was clear — to provide high-quality learning experiences and support students in becoming their best selves. 

这一天,学生并不在校园,却是我们所有努力的中心。正是这一天的学习与打磨,让每一堂课更有力量,让每一次互动更具温度。无论是教学探究还是校园服务,我们目标始终如一——为学生创造更高质量的学习体验,陪伴他们遇见更好的自己。

We will continue to refine our expertise through inquiry and holistic education, ensuring that every lesson and campus experience serves each student’s growth.

专业发展日的落幕不是结束,而是新的起点。我们将持续在探究、跨学科与全人教育中精进专业,让每一次课堂和校园服务,都更贴近每位学生的成长需要。
