太有才了！华外小主厨上线 I’m the Chef Today！

当英语书里的句子走进真实的厨房，当“煎蛋”“云吞”成了课堂对话的主角，学习不再只是读写背——而是看得见、做得来、说得出的生动体验！近日，华外小学四年级英语组以教科版 Unit 3《I’m the Chef Today》为蓝本，精心设计了一场“英语 + 劳动”跨学科主题学习活动。同学们不仅学英语，更用英语去做事、去创造、去分享！

We brought textbook English to life! Based on Unit 3 “I’m the Chef Today,” our Grade 4 English teachers designed an interdisciplinary project combining language learning with hands-on cooking. Students didn’t just learn words—they used them to create, share, and shine.

在课堂上，老师用沉浸式英语教学，带学生们“走”进美食世界。从认识食材（ingredients）到一步步解析烹饪流程（cooking steps），英语不再是孤立的单词，而是连贯的动作、具体的操作。同学们一边听讲解，一边模拟下厨，语言自然而然融入实践。

In class, teachers use immersive English instruction to guide students into the world of cuisine. From learning about ingredients to breaking down cooking steps, English is no longer isolated vocabulary but coherent actions and concrete operations. Students listen to explanations while simulating cooking, naturally integrating language into practice.

课后，孩子们回到家中，真正系上围裙、拿起锅铲，将课堂所学化为盘中美味！有的煮出一碗劲道的手工面，并用英语娓娓道来酱料的搭配心得；有的煎出金黄松软的饼，自信分享“翻面时机”的小秘诀；还有的包出圆鼓鼓的云吞，童言童语介绍怎么捏合才不漏馅……每一道菜，都是一次英语表达的真实演练；每一次解说，都是思维与口语的双重锻炼。

After class, the children return home, put on aprons, pick up spatulas, and turn what they learned into delicious dishes! Some cook a bowl of chewy handmade noodles, explaining in English their thoughts on sauce pairing; others fry golden, fluffy pancakes, confidently sharing tips on the “right flipping timing”; and some wrap plump wontons, describing in their own words how to seal them without leakage… Each dish becomes a real exercise in English expression; every explanation strengthens both thinking and speaking skills.

我们收到了许多孩子发来的烹饪视频——没有复杂技法，却满是专注的眼神、稚嫩但流利的英文介绍，以及那份藏不住的成就感。这不仅是做菜，更是一场关于勇气、创造与表达的综合课。学科之间的边界，在锅铲与英语交汇的瞬间，被温柔打破。

We have received many cooking videos from the children—no complex techniques, but full of focused eyes, fluent English narration, and unmistakable pride. This is more than cooking; it’s a comprehensive lesson in courage, creativity, and expression. The boundaries between subjects gently dissolve where spatulas meet English.

这不是一次简单的作业，而是一次让知识落地、让能力生根的课程创新。英语+劳动，得到的不仅是趣味，更是真实的成长。
