Our Green Day for Everyday | 天启地球日:绿色每一天

While the day had a clear structure, the learning was intentionally child-led.


遵循IB PYP教育理念,我们把学习主动权完全交给孩子。



Children were given time, space, and freedom to shape their projects, revisit ideas, and (when ready) visit other learning spaces.


This flexibility supported a more authentic IB experience, where children’s curiosity and decision-making drive the learning.


充足的时间、开放的空间,让孩子们自主构思、大胆探索,好奇心就是最好的学习动力。




Every class worked collaboratively to design and build a large-scale display piece using clean, child-safe recycled materials.


各班以小组为单位,用干净安全的回收材料,共同完成大型展示作品。



Throughout the process, children planned, problem-solved, tested ideas, adapted designs, and negotiated roles—building not only sculptures, but also confidence, communication, and collaboration skills.


动手创作中,不仅实现“变废为宝”,更悄悄提升了自信、沟通与协作力。





The playground became a working gallery. Children moved through each other's spaces in a calm, respectful way—stopping to look closely, noticing details, and talking about what materials were being used and what they were creating.


This was a powerful opportunity to practise listening, speaking, and giving simple, positive feedback to peers.


操场化身流动的艺术展厅。孩子们从容有礼地穿梭于彼此的作品空间,驻足细看、留意细节,交流着所用的材料与正在创作的内容。


这是一次宝贵的实践机会,让孩子们练习倾听、表达,并向同伴给予简洁而积极的反馈。





Each class created an impressive piece with its own story and purpose—showing how sustainability learning can connect to children’s interests:


每个班级都交出了专属环保答卷,每一件作品都藏着巧思与心意:



PreK created the ‘PreK Express!’—a recycled-cardboard train of colours and shapes.


纸板变身“小小班特快号”,旧材料焕发新活力。





K1A created imaginative animal habitats, including forest and ocean scenes.

K1B designed an ice-castle-inspired build, linking creativity with caring for our planet.

K2A explored ocean pollution through a collaborative artwork showing sea life affected by waste.

K2B engineered a large recycled-material robot, strengthening teamwork and problem-solving.

K3A built a striking recycled-material castle, bringing “reduce, reuse, recycle” to life.

K3B launched their Eco-Rocket Team, connecting inquiry learning with environmental responsibility.

After the event, we curated the children’s creations into a shared installation space in the lobby. Displaying the work together made the learning visible: when children are trusted with real materials, real choices, and collaborative time, the results are thoughtful, beautiful, and meaningful.


各班的作品集中陈列在大厅,成为最亮眼的风景。作品的集中陈列,让学习成果清晰可见:当我们放手信任孩子,给予他们真实的材料、自主选择的权利与协作的时光,他们便能创作出兼具思考、美感与意义的作品,这正是IB PYP教育理念的生动诠释。
