在这个春意盎然的四月，我们迎来了第31个世界阅读日。为了进一步激发孩子们的阅读兴趣，营造浓厚的阅读氛围，4月21日，斐特思小学部举行了以“让我们一起庆祝阅读的力量”为主题的2026世界阅读日庆祝活动，用书香、创意与欢笑，为阅读喝彩。
In this spring-filled month of April, we welcomed the 31st World Book Day. To inspire children’s love of reading and create a wonderful reading atmosphere, Faiths Primary School held our 2026 World Book Day celebration on 21 April. Our theme was “Let’s Celebrate the Power of Reading Together.” With the scent of books, plenty of creativity, and lots of laughter, we celebrated reading in a joyful and exciting way.

Guess Who I Am?
— Bringing Book Characters to Life
当天，小学部的师生们带上自己心爱的书籍，化身书中的角色，有的戴上巫师帽，变身“魔法师”；有的披上红斗篷，成为可爱的“小红帽”；有的化身闪闪发光的“小美人鱼”；还有的轻摇羽扇，活脱脱一个“小诸葛亮”。
同学们和老师们也纷纷走上舞台，用几句话介绍自己扮演的角色，台下的伙伴们争先恐后地猜测书名和人物。现场充满了欢声笑语，书籍中那些鲜活的形象仿佛一下子走到了我们身边。
On the day, teachers and pupils brought their favourite books and dressed up as characters from stories. Some wore wizard hats and became “magicians”. Others wore red cloaks and became cute “Little Red Hoods”. There were also glittering “Little Mermaids”, and a few pupils gently waved feather fans, becoming living versions of “Little Zhuge Liang”.
Students and teachers then took turns on stage. In a few short words, they introduced the characters they were portraying, while classmates in the audience eagerly guessed the book titles and character names. The whole event was full of laughter and happiness—vivid scenes from the books seemed to come alive right before our eyes.

在这个四月里，许多同学积极参与了学校发起的阅读挑战。
当天他们站上舞台，接受属于他们的荣耀时刻——“阅读冠军”称号的表彰。每一本读过的书，都是他们与文字之间最美好的约定。
Throughout April, many pupils took part in the school reading challenge.
On the day, they stood proudly on stage to receive their moment of glory, recognising them as “Reading Champions.” Every book they read represents a beautiful promise between them and the written word.
经典遇上童真
When classics meet
childhood imagination
当经典遇上童真，会碰撞出怎样的火花？五年级的同学们为大家带来了一场精彩的特别演出——《大闹龙宫》。
这部改编自中国四大名著之一《西游记》的短剧，赢得了台下阵阵掌声。孩子们用生动的表演，活灵活现地展示出名著的经典情节，也让大家感受到中华古典文学的无穷魅力。
When classics meet childhood imagination, wonderful sparks can fly! Our Grade 5 pupils delivered an exciting special performance, “Havoc in the Dragon Palace.”
This short play was adapted from Journey to the West, one of China’s four great classical novels. The audience enjoyed it immensely, rewarding the performers with rounds of applause. Through vivid acting, the children brought scenes from the classic to life, allowing everyone to experience the endless charm of Chinese classical literature.

— Ready for Your Challenge?
庆祝日的重头戏，是接下来的8个精彩阅读站！每个站点都设计了不同的阅读互动活动。
孩子们手持的“阅读护照”，穿梭于各个站点，完成双语阅读任务，收集阅读印章。
The highlight of the celebration was our eight exciting reading stations. Each station featured different interactive reading activities.
Using their reading passports, children moved from one station to the next, completed bilingual reading tasks, and collected reading stamps.

Bilingual Reading Experts
同学们的第一个阅读活动挑战就是要用中文和英文介绍自己所化身角色，欢快的气氛与自信的表达，让大家沉浸于一个个有趣的角色。
In the first challenge, children introduced the characters they had dressed as in both Chinese and English. The cheerful atmosphere and confident speaking helped everyone feel truly involved in the stories.
创意拼贴诗
Creative Collage Poetry
桌上摆满了各色词语和短句，孩子们像寻宝一样挑选自己喜欢的文字，拼贴成一首首充满想象力的小诗。
“春天/偷偷藏在书页里”
“祝你把皱巴巴熨平/一切顺利”
“应该/又一个早晨/醒在世界的中央”……
每一位同学都成了独一无二的小诗人，沉浸在春天的诗意里。
Our poetry tables were filled with colourful words and phrases. Children selected their favourite words like treasure hunters and combined them to create imaginative little poems.
Examples included:
•“Spring/secretly hides in book pages”
•“Wishing you to iron out all wrinkles/and smooth sailing ahead”
•“Should/another morning/wake in the centre of the world”
Every pupil became a unique little poet, fully immersed in the poetry of spring.
阅读故事拼图
Story Puzzle Reading
每块拼图碎片上都印着经典绘本或故事中的场景。同学们需要合作完成拼图，并说出这个故事的书名或一个关键情节。这不仅考验观察力和记忆力，更让团队协作变得其乐融融。
Each jigsaw piece featured scenes from classic picture books or stories. Children worked together to complete the puzzle and then share the book title or a key point from the story. This tested not only observation and memory, but also made teamwork joyful and engaging.
制作可爱造型书签
Making Cute Bookmark Designs
彩纸、贴纸、画笔、木勺……孩子们尽情发挥创意，为自己或好朋友制作一枚独一无二的书签。用自己手中的彩笔描绘出故事里的有趣的角色与自己喜欢的造型。
一枚小小的书签，将成为他们未来每一次阅读旅程中最温暖的陪伴。
Using coloured paper, stickers, markers, and popsicle sticks, children unleashed their creativity to design bookmarks for themselves or their friends.
With colourful pens, they drew interesting story characters and their favourite designs. These little bookmarks will be warm companions for every future reading adventure.
除了以上站点，还有“找线索，猜书名”“经典英文台词”“好书推荐角”“卡点读词挑战”等趣味活动，每一个阅读站都排起了小小的长队，孩子们乐此不疲。
