The results of the 2026 HSBC  Forbes China International School Rankings have recently been announced. Once again, Fettes College Guangzhou has reinforced its position as a leading force in international education in South China through its strong overall performance. The school successfully retained its place as the No.1 Bilingual High School in Guangzhou, while its Primary and Middle School divisions were also ranked among the city’s top schools, making FCG one of the very few international schools in Guangzhou to achieve recognition across all age groups.

At the end of 2025, the Expat and Chinese Heads of College, Mr Jeroen Gakes and Ms Julie Zheng, were both honoured with the title of “Forbes China Outstanding International School Principal”. FCG became the only International School in China to have both principals receive this distinction simultaneously, highlighting its exemplary leadership and strong integration of Chinese and international educational values.

In 2026, the school received further recognition at the HSBC International Education Festival, where it was named an “Outstanding Bilingual School in Guangzhou”.

With these achievements, Fettes College Guangzhou has now earned authoritative recognition across multiple areas, including school leadership, overall educational strength and whole-school academic quality. It is among the very few schools nationwide to receive honours for “Outstanding Principals” and “Outstanding Bilingual School,” and to rank among the top in the Forbes evaluation system, demonstrating both the depth of its educational philosophy and its ability to sustain long-term excellence.

For three consecutive years, Fettes College Guangzhou students have received offers from both the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, and have also been admitted to all UK G5 universities. These outcomes are not accidental but the result of a stable, systematic educational approach supported by Country Garden Education and led by the school’s Chinese and international principals. The “academic stability” highlighted by Forbes has become part of everyday teaching at FCG.

The 2026 Forbes evaluation placed particular focus on the practical implementation of “AI + Education”. 

Fettes College Guangzhou has already moved to the forefront of this field, integrating AI deeply into classroom teaching. In Chinese lessons, students use AI to support project-based learning on The Mystery of Life in the Universe, while English lessons incorporate intelligent support systems that connect teaching, learning, and assessment. During the 2026 Arts and Science Festival, AI was also creatively integrated into a wide range of student activities.

In addition, the school regularly organises AI teaching seminars and teacher workshops, ensuring that technology genuinely empowers education and continuously supports the evolution of teaching and learning.

Fettes College Guangzhou has consistently expanded and strengthened its curriculum provision. Alongside IGCSE, A-Level and IB programmes, the school has proactively introduced BTEC Art & Design, BTEC Business and AP courses. At the same time, it has established facilities including an Equestrian Club, Flight Simulation Centre, Ski Training Centre and STEAM Centre.
